Additional Persecution News from China - March 31, 2008 (41 Reports)
(Clearwisdom.net) Today's report includes persecution incidents that
took place in 33 cities or counties in 13 provinces. In this report 24
practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during their detention, and
at least 32 practitioners were illegally arrested. 1. [Jingtai County, Gansu Province] Mr. Wang Yizhao Being Held in Lanzhou
City Prison Mr. Wang Yizhao was arrested in 2005 for distributing Falun Gong truth
clarification materials. He was sentenced to three years in prison. Mr.
Wang is still being held at Lanzhou City Prison. Officials in the prison refused to let Mr. Wang's family visit between August
2007 and January 2008. They also forced Mr. Wang to stand and squat for a long
time. He was also sometimes deprived of sleep and use of the restroom, and the
guards often shocked him with electric batons. Mr. Wang had appealed for justice for Falun Gong in June 2000 and was later
sentenced to one year of forced labor. He had previously been incarcerated in
the Wuchuan Brainwashing Center in Baiyin City in 2004. 2. [Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Yingjie Is Being Held in Heizuizi Women's
Prison-- Guards Denied Her Family's Visit 3. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Mr. Tang Xingguo Arrested Hongjiang City Domestic Security Division Chief Yi Zhongxian and others and
went to Tuokou Middle School at 10:00 a.m. on March 20, 2008, to arrest
practitioner Mr. Tang Xingguo, 30, and take him to the Tuokou Police Station.
Then they ransacked his home and confiscated a computer, some Falun Gong books,
truth clarification materials, a cell phone, and a satellite installation manual
that described how to receive New Tang Dynasty TV programs. They then took Mr.
Tang to the city's police department where Mr. Wang was able to escape in the
evening. He now is forced to live away from home to avoid being arrested. Mr. Tang was designated an "Excellent Teacher" and received many
awards. Yu Yuejun, head of Hongjiang City 610 Office: 86-13907454018 4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners from Xushui County
Arrested Personnel from the Xushui County Police Department arrested three
practitioners from Yuantou Village, Xushui County, Baoding City, on March 26,
2008. They included Ms. Yu, 60; Ms. Sun Baoxia, 50; and Ms. Sun's sister, who is
in her 40s. 5. [Gansu Province] Mr. Wang Yuping Is Being Held in Linxia Prison When Mr. Wang Yuping was held in Linxia Prison No. 4 Division he did not
cooperate with the guards. Administration Section Chief Li Peilu and several
other guards tied Mr. Wang to a bed, undressed him, and shocked him with
electric batons. Li Peilu gagged him and continued shocking him. They tortured
him like this for about three weeks. Mr. Wang is currently being held in Linxia
Prison. Prison chief: 86-930-6214321 6. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Lili and Ms. Xu Qinfeng Arrested Ms. Tian Lili and Ms. Xu Qinfeng from Quangou Town, Xintai City, were
reported to the police. Subsequently, personnel from the city's 610 Office and
Domestic Security Division Chief Ma Yan put the two into a local detention
center on March 19, 2008. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated
several items. An older woman practitioner from the Quangou Town Mine was also arrested, but
where she is being detained is unknown. Two other older practitioners had money
extorted from them by the mine's security section. 7. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] The Arrest of Ms. Chen Jinxiu Personnel from the Shuilu Police Station arrested 49-year-old Ms. Chen Jinxiu
from Jiayu County the night of March 3, 2008, as she distributed truth
clarification materials. Five or six policemen brutally beat her during her
detention. Ms. Chen was sentenced to one year and six months of forced labor on March
18, 2008, and taken to the Hubei Province Forced Labor Camp twice, but officials
there refused to accept her. Her poor health disqualified her. Ms. Chen is
currently being held in the county's No. 1 Detention Center. Kong Yunlong, Jiayu County Police Department deputy chief: 86-13886525599 8. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ma Jiali Arrested Mr. Ma Jiali was arrested for distributing truth clarification materials on
March 25, 2008. Later someone who claimed to be from Fujia Detention Center
called Mr. Ma's family. The person told them to have 15,000 yuan
ready if they wanted to bail out Mr. Ma. The person's phone number is
86-13070605086. 9. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Yaxuan and Mr. Pi Yongli
Arrested and Sentenced to Forced Labor Mr. Li Yaxuan and Mr. Pi Yongli were arrested on March 13, 2008, and
sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor and one year of forced labor,
respectively. They are currently being held in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Feng Li, Mr. Li Wensheng, Ms. Wu Jinping and her husband, Ms. Jing Fei,
and Ms. Chu Xiumei were arrested. Ms. Zhang Qi is currently being held in Jinzhou City Detention Center.
Domestic Security Division Chief Wu Baoliang ransacked Ms. Zhang's home on March

(Office), 86-421-2636666 (Home), 86-13304219999 (Cell), 86-13904213399 (Cell) 10. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Mr. Ma Jinxiang Arrested Personnel from the No. 8 Mine's Security Section arrested Mr. Ma Jinxiang
from the No. 8 Mine in the Pingdingshan City Coal Company on the afternoon of
March 18, 2008. Mr. Ma's case has been submitted to the Weidong District Procuratorate

86-13937528000 11. [Yongqing County, Hebei Province] Police Harass Several Practitioners Personnel from the Yangmazhuang Police Station and from the Yongqing County
Police Department ransacked Ms. Gao Xiuzhi's home on the afternoon of March 16,
2008. They confiscated four MP3 players, an MP4 player, 2,000 yuan, and a pair
of gold earrings. As Ms. Gao was not at home, police forcibly took her husband
to the Yangmazhuang Police Station and coerced him into revealing Ms. Gao's
whereabouts. The gang went to Ms. Han Suzhi's home in Qiyuanzi Village, Yangmazhuang
Township, that same day. She was not at home. They ransacked the place in the
absence of Ms. Han's family and confiscated a few Falun Dafa books. Personnel from the Yangmazhuang Police Station and from the Chengguan Police
Station went to Mr. Zhang Heqiang's home in the township on the night of March
17, 2008. They ransacked the place and confiscated a computer, a printer, a
motorcycle, and many other items, even though no one was at home. Wang Bojian, Yongqing County Police Department: 86-13832660968 (Cell),
86-316-6629538 12. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ju Peng Harasses Several
Practitioners and Their Families Jiuzhai Township 610 Office head Ju Peng and others went to Mr. Zhao
Shengju's home in Lijiazhaizi Village, Jiuzhai Township, on the morning of March
24, 2008. They first put him in the township's administration compound and later
transferred him to Yinan County. His family went to visit him, but they were
turned away. A group of police officers went to Mr. Ma Fumin's home in the township and
ransacked the place on March 25, 2008. They confiscated some truth clarification
materials and forcibly took Mr. Ma to the township's administration compound.
Mr. Ma is currently being held in Mengyin County. His wife, Ms. Wang Huanfen, is
living away from home. Police went to Mr. Guo Changde's home in Beilou Village on the morning of
March 27, 2008. They found some truth clarification materials and a satellite
dish for receiving New Tang Dynasty TV programs. The police confiscated
everything and arrested Mr. Guo. Mr. Guo's son spent more than 20,000 yuan [in
bribes] to establish connections and got Mr. Guo released. Ju Peng and four policemen and ransacked Mr. Xu Jie's home in Beimozhuang
Village, Jiuzhai Township, the afternoon of March 28, 2008. They did not find
anything and left, but later harassed Mr. Liu Qisheng at his home in Shutang
Village. 13. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Jiang Guangming Arrested Five officers from the Nanhao Town Police Station and from the Changle County
Anti-Falun Gong Division broke into Mr. Jiang Guangming's home on the afternoon
of March 28, 2008. They arrested him and ransacked the home. 14. [Changle County, Shandong Province] The Persecution of Mr. Zhao Yancheng
and Mr. Qiu Quanpu Mr. Zhao Yancheng's daughter from Qiaoguan Town was arrested and his son was
mistreated to the point of mental collapse. Mr. Zhao lives away from home in
order to avoid being arrested. Mr. Qiu Quanpu is a Chinese medicine practitioner. He visited Mr. Zhao but
was followed afterwards. Police searched him and then ransacked his home. 15. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Falun Gong Practitioners' Families
Unable to Get Residential Registration Cards The Xiangdong Chemical Factory in Liaoning Province went bankrupt in 2006.
Several employees were relocated from Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province, to the
Bayuquan Development District in Yingkou City. As of March 2008, more than 3,000
families had obtained their residential registration cards, but some
practitioners' families were unable to get them. 16. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Xuqiu and Ms. Wang
Yuxian's Homes Ransacked Several officers including Fan Kai from the Shuguang Police Station in the
Xiefeng District broke into Ms. Wang Xuqiu's home on February 3, 2008. They
ransacked the place and confiscated two laptop computers, a CD burner, an HP
1022 Laser printer, 300 blank CDs, 200 copies of the truth clarification flyers,
several Falun Gong books, 4,000 yuan in cash, and removable hard disks. They locked Ms. Wang Xuqiu and Ms. Wang Yuxian in the police station that
night, and the police station chief interrogated and beat them. It was heard
that Ms. Wang Yuxian's face was disfigured from the beating. About ten policemen went to Ms. Wang Yuxian's sister's home and arrested her
sister and her sister's daughter, who are not practitioners. They extorted 5,000
yuan from them and then released them. Four practitioners who went to visit the two were arrested and released after
paying a 3,000 yuan "fine." Shuguang Police Station in the Tiefeng District: 86-452-2511629 17. [Shanghai] Mr. Yang Jianjun Arrested Police arrested Mr. Yang Jianjun on March 29, 2008, as he distributed truth
clarification materials in Chedun Town, Songjiang District, Shanghai. They
confiscated Mr. Wang's computer and a printer. 18. [Nanzhao County, Henan Province] Ms. Zhang Ying Arrested Nanzhao County Domestic Security Division Chief Yang Junzhou arrested Ms.
Zhang Ying in Yunyang Town. She is currently being held at the county's
detention center. 19. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yuzhen Arrested Mr. Li Yuzhen, 65, from Kanjiahu Village, Gaomi City, disappeared on March
25, 2008, after he ventured out to distribute truth clarification materials. His
family learned of his arrest when personnel from the Hujiazhuang Police Station
and from the Kanjia Police Station ransacked Mr. Li's home on March 28, 2008.
Mr. Li is currently being held at the city's detention center. Dong Hongbo, Hujiazhuang Police Station Chief: 86-13906463461 (Cell),
86-536-2311630 (Home) 20. [Chongqing] Mr. Yuan Yingjiang Arrested Mr. Yuan Yingjiang, 61, lives in Wanjialinshe, Xinzhai Village, Hengshan
Town, Qijiang County, Chongqing. Officers Luo Jun and Cai Chunhe from the
county's police department and village party secretary Huang Wanbin ransacked
Mr. Yuan's home on March 11, 2008. Mr. Yuan is currently being held at the
county's detention center. Mr. Yuan had been sentenced to one year of forced labor in March 2004 for
posting truth clarification flyers. Quan Dougang, a persecutor: 86-23-48406176 (Home) 21. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Yanqiu Arrested Personnel from the Tianhe Police Station in Shulan City arrested Ms. Xu
Yanqiu at her home and confiscated an MP3 player at 2:00 p.m. on March 27, 2008. Tianhe Police Station: 86-432-6166110 22. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Guo Qingfen Arrested Personnel from the Dongfu Police Station in Shulan City forced practitioners
to write a guarantee statement, or otherwise be arrested. They put
Ms. Guo Qingfen into a detention center because they found a copy of Master's
picture. The police officers extorted money from Ms. Guo and then released her. 23. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Personnel from the Qiaoxi District
Court Persecuted Ms. Feng Ruixue 24. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuyun and Ms. Zhang Xiurong
Arrested Ms. Zhang Xiuyun and Ms. Zhang Xiurong from the Shaanxi Province No. 9 Cotton
Factory were arrested in the Xianyang Airport. They are currently being held at
the factory's Lanfeng Hotel. Hotel manager's office: 86-917-8567525 25. [Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Dejun from the Jilin Railway Station Was
Arrested on March 20, 2008 26. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Dong Meizhen Was Arrested on March 27,
2008 and Her Computer Was Confiscated 27. [Wenshan City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Li Guofang Arrested Personnel from the Xihua Police Station arrested Ms. Li Guofang at 6:00 p.m.
on the afternoon of March 26, 2008. The arrest took place when Ms. Li was
distributing truth clarification materials. The police ransacked Ms. Li's home
and confiscated a computer, a printer, and other items worth more than 10,000
yuan. Ms. Li is currently being held at the Wenshan County No. 1 Detention
Center. 28. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Ying, 38, Arrested on March 15,
2008 29. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Bai Zaijin Arrested Yu Baoqian from the Zhangqiu City 610 Office and several other policemen
entered Mr. Bai Zaijin's home at 6:00 a.m. on March 28, 2008. They ransacked the
place, confiscated one of Master's pictures, and intimidated Mr. Bai's son into
taking them to find his father. They stayed there until 2:00 p.m. and told his
family they would return. 30. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jin Arrested Ms. Jin, working as switchboard attendant in the Harbin University of Science
and Technology, was arrested on March 9, 2008. It was heard that another practitioner from Yuquan City was also arrested. 31. [Chongqing] Ms. Wen Bin's Whereabouts Unknown Ms. Wen Bin, a retired teacher from Mitingzi Primary School in the Jiangbei
District, Chongqing, went to visit a relative in a hospital on March 19, 2008.
As of March 30, 2008, she had not returned. 32. [Shanghai] Mr. Chen Guohong Arrested Mr. Chen Guohong, who is employed at Datongyang Business Hall in Shanghai,
was arrested and incarcerated in a Shanghai detention center on March 12, 2008. 33. [Yanbian City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Fuxia Facing Illegal Trials and
Possible Sentencing Four practitioners from Yanbian City were arrested in 2007. They are Ms. Wang
Fuxia, Mr. Shi Guoliang, Mr. Gao Weixi, and Ms. Yang Defang. They faced illegal
trials in Changchun City on the morning of March 31, 2008. 34. [Shanghai] Several Practitioners Arrested Several practitioners were arrested in Shanghai. Police deprived them of
sleep for several days and beat them. They blew cigarette smoke into the
practitioners' eyes and rolled up newspapers tightly to use to hit the
practitioners' eyes. 35. [Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province] The Persecution of Ms. Zhao Feizhou Ms. Zhao Feizhou is a teacher from Putuo Middle School in Zhoushan City. She
has been in a mental hospital and in Deqing Women's Forced Labor Camp in
Zhejiang Province since 2000. She experienced all kinds of physical torture and
was also mentally tormented. Ms. Zhao was demoted to a position at Shenjiamen
Middle School, and her colleagues were ordered to monitor her. Ms. Zhao explained the facts about Falun Gong in 2006, which was reported.
The police arrested her and put her in a detention center. Shenjiamen Middle School: 86-580-3024270 36. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yang Guoming Arrested on March 30,
2008, and Currently Being Held at the City's Detention Center Cui Xirui, Police Department chief: 86-13361019001 37. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Police in the Heshan District Arrested Ms.
Zhou Xiaofeng 38. [Beijing] Practitioner Being Held at 67 Guangwai Southern Street, the
Xuanwu District 39. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Rongfen Arrested Ms. Li Rongfen from the Jiang'an District, Wuhan City, distributed
truth-clarifying materials in the Baibuting Garden District on the night of
March 27, 2008. Local community police arrested her and took her into the
Baibuting Police Station. The police ransacked her home and put her in Erzhiguo
Women's Detention Center in the Dongxihu District of Wuhan City. It was heard
that she would be held there for ten days and then transferred to a brainwashing
center. Baibuting Police Station: 86-27-82354669, 86-27-82354598, 86-27-82354655 40. [Lingchuan County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Yuan Yueling Arrested Personnel from the Lingchuan County Police Department arrested Ms. Yuan
Yueling at her home in Liyi Town, Lingchuan County, on March 7, 2008. They
ransacked the place and confiscated a computer and a printer. Ms. Yuan is
currently being held at the county's detention center. Lingchuan County Police Department chief's office: 86-356-6206101 41. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Officers from the Kuanping Police
Station Harass Practitioners Personnel from the Kuanping Police Station in the Chaoyang District of
Changchun City recently ordered practitioners to report their phone numbers.
They said the Olympic Games were approaching and that their supervisors told
