Additional Persecution News from China - April 1, 2008 (33 Reports)

persecution that took place in 23 cities and counties in 10 provinces. In this
report, 15 practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during their
detention and at least 29 practitioners were illegally arrested. 1. [Chongqing City] Additional Information about the Secret Arrest of Falun
Gong Practitioner Wen Bin Ms. Wen Bin, in her 60s, is a retired teacher from Sifangjing Elementary
School in Jiangbei District. On March 25, police from the Jiangbei District
Police Department arrested her. She is being detained in the Jiangbei District
Detention Center. 2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Yang Detained Ms. Wang Yang is a teacher in Nangang District, Harbin City. At noon on March
20, 2008, she was arrested at the Ziya Design School. Now she is being detained
in Yaziquan, Daoli District, Harbin City. 3. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Yang Qiaoying from Qinchuan District
Was Arrested on March 29, 2008 4. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information about the
Arrest of Ms. Niu Xifen On the morning of March 21, 2008, police from the 610 Office of
Farm 851, broke into the homes of Ms. Niu Xifen, Mr. Sun Shouzhang, and another
practitioner. The police took away computers and printers and arrested the three
practitioners. Currently, Mr. Sun Shouzhang and the other practitioners have
been released. Ms. Niu Xifen is being detained in the Beishan Detention Center

Years of Imprisonment and Sent to the Zhongba Farm in Guiyang City, Guizhou
Province 6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ma Shengli and His Wife, Ms. Xiuting,
Arrested Mr. Ma Shengli and Ms. Xiuting, his wife, are practitioners from Shunping,
Baoding City. On the morning of March 10, 2008, Shunping Police searched their
home and took them away. The police confiscated Dafa books, Master's pictures,
etc. Now their whereabouts are unknown. 7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liang Shuxin Sent to a Brainwashing
Center Mr. Liang Shuxin lives in Yuannanliu Town, Fangzi District, Weifang City. In
the beginning of March 2008, after being released from the Shandong Second
Forced Labor Camp, he was directly sent to the Weifang Brainwashing Center. In the forced labor camp, Mr. Liang Shuxin insisted on upholding his beliefs.
He could not walk by himself as a result of the brutal treatment he was
subjected to. 8. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Additional Information about the
Persecution of Ms. Zhao Fengrong Ms. Zhao Fengrong, 70 years old, lives on Huada Jiucai Lane, Fuzhou City. On
the night of March 27, 2008, she was arrested near the Tongpan Elementary
School. Afterwards, the police searched her home and took away a computer, a
printer, CDs, etc. Now Ms. Zhao is being detained in the Fuzhou First Detention
Center. 9. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Lu Ying Arrested On March 24, 2008, policemen Xu Zhiqiang and Li Shengli from the Songmen
Police Station, which is affiliated with the Shunhe Police Department in Kaifeng
City, deceived Ms. Lu Ying into going to the station and then arrested her. 10. [Beijing] Mr. Lu Changchun, a Doctor in His 40s, Arrested at the End of
March 2008 11. [Shanghai] On March 18, 2008, a Male Practitioner with the Surname of
Ding from Lao Street, Jinqiao Town, New Pudong District, Arrested 12. [Beijing ] Practitioners Including Mr. Zhang Junyan Arrested Mr. Zhang Junyan is 65 years old and lives in the family housing of the music
institute in Xicheng District, Beijing. On March 17, 2008, he was arrested by
police while he was distributing truth-clarifying materials. Afterwards, his
home was ransacked. At 10 am on March 18, 2008, police went to search the home of practitioner
Ms. Zhang Shuying and arrested her. At 2 p.m. on March 18, 2008, police brook into the home of a female
practitioner with the surname of Niu. The practitioner is 75 years old. The
police arrested her and her husband. The practitioner's husband was released
that night. 13. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Including Ms. Xing Shuhua
Arrested at Zhanqian Street on March 28, 2008 14. [Qingyun County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Meilan and Ms. Sheng
Guiying Arrested At 10 pm on March 30, 2008, Ms. Zhang Meilan, around 70 years old and
67-year-old Ms. Sheng Guiying were reported to police by the villagers of
Weijiawa. Officers from the Qingyun Town Police Station arrested them, searched
their homes and took 13,000 yuan from Ms. Sheng Guiying's home. They
are being detained in the Qingyun County Police Department. 15. [Tianjin City] Information about Practitioners Arrested on February 28,
2008 On February 28, 2008, several practitioners were arrested in Tanggu District,
Tianjin City. Mr. Xu Guoqiang was released the next day because of his health.
Ms. Tong Demei was released recently after her family had 30,000 yuan extorted
from them. Other arrested practitioners included Mr. Bai Hong, Mr. Qi Changrong,
Ms. Song Hongcui, and Ms. Xu Guomin. 16. [Yongnian County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Xiaomin Arrested and Her Family
Members Harassed At 9 p.m. on March 24, Chen Jushan, Head of the Politics and Security Section
of Yongnian County, and about 30 policemen from the Third Team and the Liuhan
Township Police Station went to Ms. Liu Xiaomin's home at Beiyingu Village. Ms.
Liu Xiaomin and her husband, as well as two of her uncles, were arrested. The
police also took one copy of Zhuan Falun, one copy of the
Nine Commentaries, and the new TV. Because her husband and
uncles do not practice Falun Gong, they were released soon after. Later on the police went to search the home of Mr. Liu Xiaomin's parents. At
that time there was no one at home. The police climbed onto the roof, lifted up
the tiles over the bathroom, threw the tiles on the street, jumped into the

86-13803200503 17. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liang Fang Transferred to Huhehaote On November 12, 2007, Zhuozhou practitioner Ms. Liang Fang was arrested in
Haidian District, Beijing. She was first taken to the Qinghe Detention Center.
On November 29, she was transferred to the Shahejian Detention Center. On March
29, 2008, she was sent to Huhehaote Forced Labor Camp. Huhehaote Forced Labor Camp: 86-471--5692967 18. [Songzi County, Hebei Province] In March, Ms. Zhang Tingxiu Arrested 19. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] On April 1, 2008, Police Arrested Ms.
Sun Aimei, around 50 Years Old, from the Xinhua Community on Mizhou Street 20. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Jinyan Sent to Forced Labor
Camp On March 9, 2008, Ms. Liu Jinyan from Changcheng Town, was arrested by
Zhucheng police. On March 14, she was sent to the Wangcun Women's Forced Labor
Camp. 21. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Tong Huifang Arrested On March 6, 2008, Ms. Tong Huifang from Yingpan Township, Taihe District,
Jinzhou City, was arrested at her home. The police also searched her home. Now
her whereabouts are unknown. 22. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Shi Xiuzhen Tortured Police from the Xinzhan Police Station in Jiaohe City arrested Ms. Shi
Xiuzhen. She is being detained in a detention center where she was tortured and
cannot stand as a result. Mr. Zhang Guosheng was arrested by police from the Xinzhan Police Station. Xinzhan Police Station: 86-432-7531550 23. [Jilin Province] The Police Department of Nongan County Plans to
Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners Under the Excuse of "Stabilizing the
Olympic Games" On March 26, the Nongan County Police Department held a meeting to plan the
persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners using the excuse of "stabilizing
the Olympic Games.. On March 28, a group of police from the Baota Police Station and the National
Security Team of Nongan County, as well as the Changchun City Police Department,
rushed into practitioners' workplaces and harassed them. They required every
practitioner to turn in three pictures and sign their "documents." The
police also said they would go to the homes of the practitioners whose names
were included on a list before July 20, 1999. 24. [Xiamen City, Fujian Province] On March 14, 2008, Mr. Wang Erxin Was
Arrested on His Way to His Office in Aner Hospital and Taken to Huli Police
Department 25. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Yanjie Sent to a Forced Labor
Camp Ms. Song Yanjie, in her 40s, is a saleswoman in a shop on Guangfu Road. In
the beginning of February 2008, she was reported and then arrested. The police
searched her apartment and took away Dafa books and materials. She was sent to
Weizigou Forced Labor Camp for one and a half years' forced labor. 26. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Shengzhi Arrested Mr. Liu Shengzhi, in his 50s, lives in Yaoyuefu Village, Chengguan Town,
Fangshan District, Beijing. On March 21, 2008, the police from the Fangshan
District 610 Office, the National Security Team of Fangshan Police Department,
and the Chengguan Town Police Station arrested him at home. 27. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about the Arrest
of Mr. Liu Quanwang At 2 p.m. on March 23, 2008, Mr. Liu Quanwang was arrested at his home by
policeman Fu Guangchang and others from the Xiaolinghe Police Station of the
Nanpiao Mining Administration Office in Huludao City. Mr. Liu Quanwang had been
detained in the Jinzhou City Forced Labor Camp for several years and was
released in March 2007. Xiaolinghe Police Station: 86-42-4990121 Li Chunsheng, Head of the police station: 86-13309898777 28. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Jianqiang Arrested. Mr. Li Jianqiang is 31 years old and graduated from the Chemistry Department
of Shandong University in 2001. He is a researcher in the Shandong Provincial
Medicine Industrial Institute. On March 24 or 25, 2008, 610 Office agents
arrested him while he was working. Now he is being detained in the Jinan City
Detention Center. 29. [Yi'nan County, Shandong Province] Liu Chenggui Arrested and His Wife and
Daughter Arrested While Asking for His Release Mr. Liu Chenggui is a practitioner in Niuwangmiao Village, Mamuchi Township,
Yi'nan County. He was arrested and on March 27, 2008, his wife, Ms. Wang Deju,
and his daughter, Ms. Liu Xiaona, went to the police department asking for his
release. They were questioned by police from the National Security Team. Liu
Xiaona's cell phone was confiscated and then the police took his mother and
daughter to the Sunzu Township Police Station and illegally interrogated them
for a whole night. The two were released the following morning. 30. [Haozhou City, Anhui Province] On March 27, Ms. Wang Huaiqin Arrested 31. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Hongzhi and Ms. He Fengqin Arrested Mr. Liu Hongzhi and Ms. He Fengqin are an elderly couple that practice Falun
Gong in East Lane, Moshikou, Shijingshan, Beijing. At noon on March 31, 2008, a
group of policemen searched their home, took away Dafa books, and arrested them. 32. [Liaoning Province] Recent Situation about the Arrested Practitioner from
Hushitai Town, New Shenbei District At 1 am on March 24, Ms. Niu Guifang and Ms. Ren Xiuqin were arrested by the
Hushitai Town Police Station. On March 27, they were released. Now they are
being monitored and receive harassing phone calls every day. 33. [Beijing] On March 17, Ms. Li Shuqing from Baihujian, Changping County,
