Additional Persecution News from China - April 7, 2008 (48 Reports)
(Clearwisdom.net) Today's report includes incidents of persecution
that took place in 42 cities or counties in 15 provinces. In this report, 32
practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at
least 45 practitioners were illegally arrested. 1. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Li Has Been on a
Hunger Strike for 29 Days in the Harbin City Women's Prison Ms. Zhang Li is being mistreated in the Harbin City Women's Prison's No. 1
Ward. She has been on a hunger strike since March 7, 2008. Ms. Zhang's family
went to request her release, but were denied. Her husband Mr. Pan Xingfu has
been tortured to death. The grandmother takes care of Ms. Zhang's 9-year-old
child. 2. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lan Yanhua Taken to the Changliu
Detention Center 3. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Several Practitioners Subjected to
Abuse at a Brainwashing Center Several practitioners were arrested near Huaguo Mountain on April 5, 2008.
They include Ms. Zhang Shuang, Ms. Zhang Yuhua, Ms. Liu Qihui, Ms. Niu Jinhua
and Ms. Du Xiuju. The practitioners are currently being held at a brainwashing
center in Lianyungang City. 4. [Beijing] Repeated Arrest of Mr. Zhang Wenli Mr. Zhang Wenli is a lawyer in the Changping District of Beijing. The police
arrested him and put him in a brainwashing center on the night of March 4, 2008.
Mr. Zhang was later transferred to the Liu Village Detention Center. 5. [Henan Province] Mr. Tan Bo Arrested Mr. Tan Bo, about 40 years old, is an employee from the Cejing Oil Field
Company in Henan Province. He went on a business trip to Yanqi County, Bayin
Guoleng, Mongolian Autonomous State in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Personnel
from the county's police department arrested him in mid-February 2008, as he
clarified the facts about Falun Gong. Mr. Tan is still in detention. 6. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Feng Qinying Arrested Personnel from the Wulin Police Station arrested 63-year-old Ms. Feng Qinying
at the No. 14 Middle School in Hangzhou City on April 2, 2008. The arrest took
place because someone reported Ms. Feng while she clarified the facts about
Falun Gong in the school. Police ransacked her home and put her into the Sanbao
Detention Center. No. 14 Middle School: 86-571-85151909, 86-571-85061809, 86-571-85175890 7. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Su Taiqi Held in the No. 2
Division of Daqing Prison Mr. Su Taiqi from Wuchang City was put in the No.2 Division of Daqing Prison
on April 1, 2008. Four other practitioners are also being held there. 8. [Ninghua County, Fujian Province] Two Practitioners Facing Illegal Trials Ms. Zhang Yuqing from the Ninghua County Forest Bureau, and Ms. Qiu from
Yankou Village, Shuixi Township are currently being held in the county's
detention center. Their families have been denied access to their status since
August 2007. 9. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Chen Qi Held in the City Detention
Center Ms. Chen Qi was arrested on March 29, 2008 for explaining the facts about
Falun Gong. She is currently being held at the Jiujiang City Detention Center. 10. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yu Jinghua Arrested on April 3,
2008--She Is Being Held in the City's Brainwashing Center 11. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Xiaojing and Ms. Cui Jianping
Arrested Personnel from the Baiyin District Police Department in Baiyin City arrested
48-year-old Ms. Zhang Xiaojing and 50-year-old Ms. Cui Jianping on March 24,
2008, and put them in the city's detention center. 12. [Luohe City, Henan Province] Ms. An Haimei Arrested Officials broke into Ms. Hu Yanmei's home at 4:00 p.m. on March 25, 2008. The
lawless individuals include Huiyuan District Police Department's Domestic
Security Division Chief Wu Lei and Ganhechen Township Deputy Head Zhang Zhanying.
They arrested Ms. An Haimei, who was there taking care of Ms. Hu's home. The
police brought Ms. An to her own home and ransacked the place. The evildoers
then put Ms. An into the Luohe City Detention Center. Persecutor Wu Lei beat Ms.
An and coerced her into telling them where she got the Falun Dafa books. Ms. An is from Hewangzhuang Village, Ganhechen Township. Ms. Hu is a doctor
who ran a private clinic. She explained the facts about Falun Gong to a patient
and was subsequently arrested in 2005. Ms. Hu was later sentenced and is
currently being held in the Xinxiang City Women's Prison in Henan Province. Zhang Zhanying, Ganhechen Township Government: 86-395-2336512 13. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Chunzhi Arrested Ms. Li was arrested on March 28, 2008, for explaining the facts about Falun
Gong on a train. She is currently being held in the Luoyang City Railway
Detention Center. 14. [Yulin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region] Two Practitioners Arrested Ms. Liu Xiaoxin and Ms. Yao Huping were arrested on the night of February 10,
2008, for distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials. Personnel from
the Huannan Police Station put Ms. Liu in the Yulin City No. 1 Detention Center
on February 11, 2008. She was later sentenced to one year of forced labor and
put in the Nanning City Women's Forced Labor Camp on March 17, 2008. Ms. Yao was released on February 11, 2008, but officers from the city police
department often harassed her. She and her 88-year-old mother now live away from
home to avoid further persecution. 15. [Chongqing] Several Practitioners Arrested Personnel from the Xinqiao Police Station in the Shapingba District arrested
Mr. He Zuze and Ms. Qiu Cuixiang at 8:00 p.m. on March 24, 2008. They
confiscated an MP3 player, an MP4 player, Master's lecture CDs and some Falun
Gong truth clarification materials from Mr. He's home. The two practitioners
were released that night. Ms. Chen Xiuying from Huayanyi Village in the Shapingba District was arrested
in late March 2008 for distributing Falun Gong truth clarification materials.
Personnel from the Xinqiao Police Station ransacked her home and confiscated
some Dafa Books on April 4, 2008. Police attempted to arrest Ms. Zhang Guizhen, but failed. 16. [Qianguo County, Jilin Province] Mr. Bi Zhongju and Ms. Zhang Shuqing
Arrested Hongquan Township Police Station officer Sun Fukun and Jianshanzi Village
Security Division chief Qu Xinglin ordered Mr. Bi Zhongju and his wife Ms. Zhang
Shuqing to be fingerprinted at 5:00 p.m. on March 31, 2008. The couple defied
the officials, and they were then arrested. Their non-practitioner daughter Ms.
Bi Caixia was also arrested. The family of three is currently being held in the
Qianguo County Detention Center in Songyuan City. Hongquan Township Police Station: 86-438-2380027 17. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liu Qiu Sentenced to Forced Labor Xiangzhou District Police Department's Domestic Security Division officer Lai
Haizhong and others arrested Ms. Liu Qiu. They put her in the Meixi No. 2
Detention Center on May 10, 2007. One month later they transferred her to the
Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp for a one and a half year term. 18. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Xin Arrested Ms. Chen Xin was initially held in the Fengyutan Police Station for four days
and then transferred to the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center. 19. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wei Yougui's Son Arrested After Mr. Wei Yougui and his wife Ms. Xu Guifen were arrested, their son
returned home and reasoned with local police, but he was also arrested by the
police. 20. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Police Arrested Ms. Han Lichun from
Shuangjingzi Township on April 5, 2008 21. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested Ms. Li Dezhen, Mr. Zhou Yuancheng and Mr. Yang Linxing were arrested in
Baishi Town, Guang'an City on April 1, 2008. 22. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Zhan Arrested Personnel from the Pingfang Police Station and from the Huafang Yicheng
Residential Committee arrested Mr. Li Zhan and put her in the Chaoyang City
Detention Center on March 13, 2008. 23. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Rongxiang Arrested Ms. Yu Rongxiang, about 60 years old, was arrested on April 1, 2008 for
distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in Gejia Village. She is
currently being held in the Wendeng City Detention Center. 24. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ren Erjie Arrested Mr. Ren Erjie, arrested on February 25, 2008, was transferred from the
Jinzhou City No. 2 Detention Center into the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in
Shenyang City a week ago. Mr. Ren was sentenced to two years of forced labor. Ms. Wang Guiling, Mr. Miao Jianguo, Ms. Xiang Ying and Ms. Duan Jun are still
being held in the Jinzhou City No. 2 Detention Center. Ms. Guo Yanping is being held in Heishan City. Jinzhou City No. 2 Detention Center: 86-416-4588652 25. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Xiaomin Sent to the Panjin
City Prison Mr. Wang Xiaomin was transferred from the Jinzhou City Prison to the No. 1
Division of the No. 4 Ward in Panjin City Prison on March 26, 2008. Another
practitioner from Dalian City was also transferred to the Panjin City Prison. 26. [Chuzhou City, Anhui Province] Ms. Xie Caixia Arrested Ms. Xie Caixia, 65, from Chuzhou City was reported to police at 8:00 p.m. on
April 2, 2008 for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. Personnel from the
Beimen Police Station arrested her and ransacked her home at 8:00 a.m. on April
3, 2008. Ms. Xie is currently being held in the city's detention center. Chuzhou City Police Department: 86-550-3064711 27. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Junhua Arrested Personnel from the Wuhu Street Police Station in Hefei City arrested
53-year-old Ms. Zhang Junhua and ransacked her home at 11:30 a.m. on March 28,
2008. Tao Yujie: 86-13505516865 (Cell), 86-551-2881277 (Office) 28. [Changfeng County, Anhui Province] Mr. Feng Qi Arrested Mr. Feng Qi, 40, from Sanshitou Township in Changfeng County was arrested on
March 2, 2008. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a computer and a
motorcycle. Mr. Feng is currently being held in the county's detention center.
Mr. Feng had been put in a police hospital in Hefei City. Changfeng County Detention Center: 86-551-6506591 29. [Hejian City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Xueying Held a Hunger Strike Seven
Days Ago Former Hejian City No. 2 Middle School principal Dong Jie reported Ms. Zhao
Xueying to police. Thus, Hejian City Police Department deputy chief Song Hejing
and Political Security Division chief Zhao Tieqiao arrested Ms. Zhao on December
6, 2006. She has been held for more than a year. Ms. Zhao staged a hunger strike
seven days ago. Zhao Tieqiao broke into Ms. Ren Yuzhen's home in Chengguan Town and ransacked
the place at 10:00 a.m. on April 6, 2008. They arrested Ms. Ren and Ms. Cao
Junying, who happened to be visiting Ms. Ren. Police confiscated some Dafa
books, a computer, a certain amount of cash and a bank deposit book registering
20,000 yuan. Song Hejing, Hejian City Police Department deputy chief: 86-317-3224400
(Home), 86-13315783107, 86-13703272185 30. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners in Detention Police arrested five practitioners including Ms. Cheng Liyun and Ms. Han
Guilan on December 26, 2007. They are currently being held in the Harbin City
No. 2 Detention Center. Police from Harbin City arrested six practitioners including Mr. Ren Zhongde
and Mr. Xie Jinde on January 24-26, 2008. Mr. Lu Haiyan has been released after
a two-week detention. Others are currently being held at the Acheng City No. 1
Detention Center. Mr. Huang Fujun and Mr. Huang Tiebo were arrested on July 24, 2007. Mr. Huang
Fujun was tortured to death on November 6, 2007. His remains are still in the
Acheng City Crematorium. 31. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Xiaotang Held in the Wangcun
Forced Labor Camp Ms. Song Xiaotang is still being subjected to torture in the No. 4 Division
of Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. She has whole-body edema and suffers from high

86-13804259787 (C) 32. [Beizhen City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Shuanghai and Mr. Li Baozhong
Arrested Police arrested 40-year-old Mr. Li Shuanghai and 40-year-old Mr. Li Baozhong
from Kulongtai Town, Beizhen City on the night of March 13, 2008. They were put
in the Beizhen City Detention Center. Wang Jianguang, Liujia Township Police Station chief in Beizhen City:
86-13897824663 (Cell), 86-24-6400777 (Office) 33. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Meihua Arrested Police officer Li Jianguang from the Zhaoyuan City "610 Office" and
official Huang Risong from the Jinling Town Government arrested Ms. Li Meihua at
her home in Caogoutou Village, Jinling Town, Zhaoyuan City on December 28, 2007.
Ms. Li is currently being held in the city's detention center. 34. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Shen Lianghua Held at the Guan
County Detention Center Mr. Shen Lianghua was transferred from the Guan County Detention Center in
Liaocheng City to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Zibo City on March 25, 2008. 35. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Guards in the Panjin City Prison
Shocked Mr. Liu Litao with Electric Batons 36. [Xinmin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Shouzhu Holds a Hunger Strike Mr. Zhao Shouzhu was arrested on the night of March 31, 2008 for distributing
Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. He is currently being held in the Xinmin
City Detention Center. Mr. Zhao has been on a hunger strike since his arrest. 610 Office head: 86-13478896378 37. [Suibin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Yuzhi Arrested Personnel from the No. 290 Farm Police Station and from the Suibin County
Police Department arrested Ms. Zhang Yuzhi, an employee of the No. 290 Farm, on
April 2, 2008. Police from Suibin County recently arrested Mr. Lin Baochang at his home. 38. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Yuqiong Arrested in Late March
2008 39. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Su Tianneng from Loulitou Village,
Daqinjia Town Was Arrested at His Home on March 25, 2008 40. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yufeng and Ms. Sun Zhenxiang
Facing Illegal Trial Ms. Zhang Yufeng and Ms. Sun Zhenxiang were arrested on March 2, 2008. They
now face illegal trials. 41. [Wuji County, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested Police failed to arrest Ms. Yue Fen from Wuji County on April 3, 2008, so
they arrested her husband and son as hostages. Police from Gaocheng City arrested Mr. Meng Gang from Wuji County on April 4,
2008. 42. [Muleng City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wu Guoli Arrested in Early April
2008 and Held in the City Detention Center 43. [Jiyuan City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Fengqin Sentenced to One Year of
Forced Labor Personnel from the Zhicheng Town Police Station arrested Ms. Li Fengqin, Ms.
Wang Haitang, Ms. Hu Ronghua and Ms. Gui Ju on March 20, 2008. Ms. Li was
sentenced to one year of forced labor. Three other practitioners have been

86-391-6633768 (Office) 44. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Yuxiang Arrested Four police officers arrested Ms. Zhang Yuxiang at her home in the Aimin
District at 6:00 a.m. on April 1, 2008. She was released the same night. 45. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Xiuying and Ms. Huang Bixian
Facing Illegal Trial Panzhihua City Court agents plan to hold a trial for Ms. Wang Xiuying and Ms.
Huang Bixian on April 15, 2008. Three practitioners including Ms. Zhu Xiuhua who were arrested on March 6,
2008 were released on April 2, 2008. 46. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Local Police Arrested Ms. Tao Jiaping at Her
Home on April 2, 2008 47. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Guifen Arrested Ms. Li Guifen is a librarian at the Songyuan City Library. Police arrested
her from her workplace and ransacked her home on the afternoon of March 28,
2008. 48. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Guanghe Arrested Personnel from the Fude Police Station in Wafangdian City arrested
50-year-old Mr. Li Guanghe on the night of March 21, 2008. They attempted to
ransack his home at 10:20 p.m. that night, but failed due to resistance from Mr.
Li's family. Mr. Li is currently being held in a prison.
