(Clearwisdom.net) On April 17, 2008, the Divine Performing Arts Company gave their first New Zealand performance at the Auckland ASB Theater, the largest theater of its kind in New Zealand, with a seating capacity of 2,256. The audience was deeply touched by the rendition of pure traditional Chinese culture and showed its appreciation through a standing ovation.

"The Divine Performing Arts successfully brought the past and the present to the stage," said Mr. Chen Weijian, editor of "Australian Chinese Daily," a major local Chinese language newspaper.

Mr. Chen said, "The Tang Dynasty drums filled my heart with their special rhythm. The drum beats made people's hearts skip in admiration. It presented a feeling of power and victory."

Er-Huist Mei Xuan's performance "Fate" was also among his favorites. He also was deeply moved by the pieces, "The Risen Lotus Flower" and "The Power of Awareness."

He said, "When the people in the scene awoke from their rest and united, the audience applauded loudly. Only the Divine Performing Arts artists can display the reality of modern life on stage so realistically. It is a highly successful show."

Owner of the "Capital Chinese News:" Very Beautiful and Powerful

After rushing to Auckland from Wellington, Mr. Wang Ning, the owner of Wellington's "Capital Chinese News," the first ever Chinese language newspaper in Wellington, attended the second show on April 18.

Mr. Wang said after the show, "I loved the traditional Chinese dances. They are outstanding. The dancers have advanced skills and they showed on stage what power of the arts and style can bring to the audience."

Mr. Wang said excitedly, "The scenes are impressive and the dances are excellent. The performers all have outstanding skills. I enjoyed the show. I very much appreciated the historical content, the legends and the Buddhist elements."

Mr. Wang liked the costumes and said that they were very beautiful. He felt that the wardrobe designer must have deep knowledge of Chinese dance and history. He said, "The costumes are very beautiful, and the choreography was very professional. The backdrop technique was perfect and it contributed a lot to the outcome of the show. The music composition was great and one can learn a lot from it."
