The Persecution of Mr. Luo Wen's Family in Huangshi City, Hubei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On about March 7, 2008, Xisaishan District Police Department officials in Huangshi City, Hubei Province, incited two policemen from the security office of the Railroad Bureau of Huangshi City to harass the wife of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Luo Wen, who is destitute and homeless, in order to obtain information about Mr. Luo. She resisted with righteous thoughts, and the police finally ceased their attempts to contact her. On March 16, 2008, at 10:30 p.m., she and her daughter returned home from an outing and, although the lock on the door was intact, when they unlocked the door they discovered footprints and dirt tracks in the living room and the bedroom. It was apparent that someone had entered their home without their knowledge. It is believed that Zhou Xianjun and other police officers from Xisaishan District Police Department stole the house key when they confiscated property from the home about one year ago.

On March 27, 2007, Chief of the State Security Division of Xisaishan District Police Department Zhou Xianjun, who conspired with officers from Chengyue Police Station in Huangshi City, forced their way into Mr. Luo Wen's home, arrested him, and took him to the Municipal Baguazhui Detention Center to extort evidence using brutal torture. Encouraged by Zhou Xianjun, the police beat Mr. Luo Wen and kicked his forehead with their boots, causing Mr. Luo Wen to pass out. He was taken to the Municipal Aikang Hospital (formerly the Municipal Yegang Hospital) for emergency care.

Zhou Xianjun denied responsibility and was unwilling to pay the medical expenses, so he called Mr. Luo's wife. Because Mr. Luo's medical records were at the Municipal Central Hospital (formerly the Municipal Third Hospital), Mr. Luo was transferred to the Municipal Central Hospital. When he arrived at the hospital, Mr. Luo Wen had been tortured so severely that he had lost all hearing in both ears. As a result of the beatings he also suffered a relapse of Meniere's Disease, which had been cured after he began practicing of Falun Gong.

On March 27, 2007, at about 4:50 p.m., Mr. Luo Wen's wife returned home from work and found four or five policemen confiscating her family's belongings. One of them attempted to grab her certificate of deposit but she took it back. However, their personal computer, printer, cell phone, and other items in her home were all confiscated, as well as Mr. Luo's house key. The police also ordered the neighbor of Mr. Luos sister-in-law to regularly report on Mr. Luo's whereabouts. Instead, this kind hearted neighbor told his wife about the incident.
