Additional Persecution News from China - March 26, 2008 (33 Reports)
(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of
persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this
report, 26 practitioners were subjected to brutal treatment during their
detention and at least 34 practitioners were illegally arrested. 1. [Huizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhan Juan from Jiangxi Province
Arrested Official Diao from the Huizhou City 610 Office, Adult Education
Section Chief Fang from the Huicheng District Education Bureau, and two other
officers went to the city's No. 5 Middle School on March 5, 2008, and threatened
a teacher, practitioner Ms. Zhan Juan, telling her that they would put her in
the Guangzhou City Brainwashing Center. Ms. Zhan left the school that afternoon,
but it has been confirmed that police went to Jiangxi Province and arrested her
in her hometown. Diao, 610 Office: 86-13824280878 2. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Ping Has to Live Away from Home Ms. Liu Ping went to appeal for justice for Falun Gong in August 1999, but
police arrested her and sent her to a detention center in her hometown.
Following her release after one month of detention, personnel from the local
police station, from the residential street committee, and from her school often
harassed her. Her school employer did not pay Ms. Liu for two months. Police arrested Ms. Liu, Ms. Li Shumei, Ms. Zang Yujie, and Ms. Lan Xinhua on
January 19, 2008, when the four were distributing Falun Gong
truth-clarification materials in Sipeng Township, Tonghua County.
Ms. Liu escaped at 6:00 a.m. the next morning and now lives away from home in
order to avoid being arrested. 3. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] The Persecution of Mr. Wang Qingzhu's
Family Mr. Wang Qingzhu from the Lishan District, Anshan City, was arrested on July
20, 2004. Mr. Wang's brother-in-law, Mr. Fang Dechun, who was already in
detention, tried to escape that day, but unfortunately fell from a building and
died. Mr. Wang was sentenced to 13 years in prison. The guards forbade most visits
from his family. Only his sister visited him in July 2007. He was often put in a
small cell to torture him. Mr. Wang's wife, Ms. Fang Guilian, went to appeal for Falun Gong and was
arrested twice in 1999. She was again arrested in November 2000 for distributing
Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. The authorities sentenced her to three
years of forced labor, to be served in Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Fang's home-based Falun Gong truth clarification materials production
site was ransacked on July 19, 2004. Local 610 Office agents have searched for
her since. She and her daughter live away from home. 4. [Guangxi Autonomous Region] Ms. Chen Xiaoping Has Been Released On November 25, 2007, Ms. Chen Xiaoping from Guangxi Autonomous Region
clarified the facts about Falun Gong to tourists at the Dinghushan Landscape
Resort in Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province. An old man deceived her into going
to the resort's security section. Personnel from the Dinghu Police Precinct
Office, Xinghu District Police Station, arrested Ms. Chen and held her in the
city detention center for seven days. Ms. Chen has been released, but the police
ordered Ms. Chen's school leaders to fire her. Dai, Xinghu District Police Station chief: 86-13600224716 5. [Chongqing] Ms. Yang Chuanshu Arrested Ms. Yang Chuanshu, 62 years old, shopped at a supermarket and used cash
printed with a truth clarification message on March 23, 2008. The cashier
reported her to the police, and the police arrested Ms. Yang and ransacked her
home. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun and some
truth-clarification materials. 6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Zhongliang Sentenced to Two
Years of Forced Labor Mr. Wang Zhongliang, who was being held at the Zhuanghe Detention Center in
Dalian City, was sentenced to two years of forced labor. The guards beat him
because he staged a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Mr. Wang has
become disabled due to torture and abuse, and he is now unable to walk normally. 7. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Rijie Arrested Mr. Zhang Rijie from Chaoshui No. 3 Village in Penglai City was arrested on
March 20, 2008, for explaining the facts of Falun Gong. He is presently being
held at the 610 Office Magezhuang Brainwashing Center. 8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Arrested Ms. Li Xiuyun, Mr. Na Quanjie, Mr. Qu Kai, and Mr. Zhao Yu, who were arrested
on February 25, 2008, were sentenced to forced labor. Ms. Li was put in Masanjia
Forced Labor Camp on March 7, 2008. Police issued an arrest certificate for Mr.
Cui Yaning. Ms. Liu Fengmei was sent to Dalian City. Ms. Zhang Qi's whereabouts
are unknown. A practitioner's family went to the Jinzhou City No. 2 Detention Center and
was informed that no practitioners are currently being held in the detention
center. Ms. Wang Guiling, Ms. Xiang Ying, Mr. Miao Jianguo, Mr. Yin Zhiyou, and
Ms. Duan Jun had been held there. Their current whereabouts are unknown. 9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Supplemental Information Regarding the
Arrest of Ms. Niu Guifang and Ms. Ren Xiuqin Personnel from the Hushitai Town Police Station arrested Ms. Niu Guifang at
1:00 a.m. on March 23, 2008. They also arrested Ms. Niu's husband and her niece.
They were released that same day, at 6:00 a.m. Ms. Ren Xiuqin was also arrested at the same time. Ms. Niu and Ms. Ren are
presently being held at the Huishan Hotel in Shenyang City. 10. [Guizhou Province] Mr. Li Donghong Faces Illegal Trial on March 28, 2008 11. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Huo Ruihua Lives in Exile Six officers from the Jiannan Police Station in the Xinshi District, Baoding
City arrested Ms. Huo Ruihua and took her the city detention center on March 21,
2008. The officials refused to admit Ms. Huo due to her high blood pressure. Her
son posted bail for her release. The authorities then went to Ms. Huo's home and
attempted to put her in the Shijiazhuang City Women's Forced Labor on March 23,
2008, but failed. Ms. Huo lives now live away from home to avoid illegal arrest. 12. [Hebei Province] Persecution of Ms. Kong Hongyun Personnel from the Yimian Police Station in the Xinshi District, Baoding City
ransacked Ms. Kong Hongyun's rented house and her own private clinic on March
14, 2008. They then put Ms. Kong in the city detention center. Her family tried
to visit her and bring her some daily necessity, but the police denied their
requests. Ms. Kong's family went to visit her again on March 24, 2008, but policeman
Jin forbade their visits under various excuses. Yimian Police Station: 86-312-3233567 13. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xiao Hongbing Arrested Mr. Xiao Hongbing, an employee of the Maiya Company in Xiantao City, was
arrested from his workplace on March 20, 2008. It is heard that he is being held
at the Wuhan City Brainwashing Center. Chen Denghua, 610 Office: 86-728-3491159 (Office), 86-728-3272865 (Home),
86-13986920088 (Cell) 14. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Zhongxin Arrested Mr. Li Zhongxin went to his hometown, Nantulukou Village, Guandaoli Township,
Jizhou City, Hebei Province, to explain the facts about Falun Gong. He installed
speakers at his home to play Falun Gong music. Officials from the township
government arrested him and ransacked his home at 10:00 a.m. on March 23, 2008.
Mr. Li is presently being held at the township administration compound. 15. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested Six practitioners were arrested on March 22, 2008, for explaining the facts
about Falun Gong at the Liuxing Village Fair. 16. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Evildoings of Policeman Liu Jian A practitioner in Yueyang City received a phone call at home at 8:00 p.m. on
March 18, 2008, and was told to pick up a package at the gate guard's office.
The practitioner went and was arrested by Beigang Township Police Station
political head Liu Jian. Liu Jian and another policeman broke into Mr. Yao Dahua's home and arrested
him at 11:00 a.m. on March 20, 2008. Mr. Yao is presently being held at the
Yueyang City No.1 Detention Center. Liu Jian, Beigang Township Police Station political head: 86-13575036818 17. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Qi Qingyuan's Daughters Forbidden
to Visit Him Sixty-six-year-old Mr. Qi Qingyuan's two daughters went to visit him at the
Dongling Prison family on visiting day, March 21, 2008. They had not seen their
father for two years because the guards had refused to let them visit every
time. That day, guards ordered the two daughters to verbally abuse Master, or
else they could not see their father. The elder daughter said, "Falun Dafa
is good," and then was pushed out. The younger daughter also did not obey
the guards and was carried out of the reception office. Prison chief: 86-24-24711754 18. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] The Persecution of Several Practitioners Personnel from the Xian'an District Police Department arrested Ms. Wan Zhixiu
and Ms. Wan Guizhi from Xianning City on March 22, 2008. They are presently
being held at the district detention center. Prior to that, 30-year-old Mr. Hu Wenhe was arrested for distributing
truth-clarification materials in Baota Town, the Xian'an District, in February
2008. Personnel from the town's police station first held him at the district
detention center and then transferred him to the Tangxunhu Brainwashing Center
in Wuhan City. Policeman Chen, officer responsible: 86-15872830006 19. [Lushuihe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Pang Junyuan Stages a Hunger
Strike Ms. Pang Junyuan was arrested on March 2, 2008, and taken to Sanchazi
Detention Center. She has started a hunger strike to protest the illegal
detention. 20. [Tancheng County, Shandong Province] Mr. Wu Guangyou and Mr. Zuo Shandong
Arrested on March 19, 2008, Are Being Held at the Tancheng County Detention
Center 21. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] A Practitioner Went Missing Recently It has been heard that a 50-year-old female practitioner from Changsha
ventured out on the morning of March 21, 2008, and has since disappeared. 22. [Rizhao City, Shandong Province] The Persecution of Ms. Gong Hua Ms. Gong Hua, 33 years old, is an employee of the Yuhua Factory in Rizhao
City. Personnel from the Zhaoyang Street Police Station arrested her near Haiqu
Street in Rizhao City the afternoon of March 19, 2008. The police confiscated an
MP3 player, an electrical vehicle, and some truth-clarification materials. Ms.
Gong was put in the city detention center that night. Her family went to the
Donggang District Police Department and requested her release, but was refused.
The family went to visit her the afternoon of March 24, 2008, but was denied
again. 23. [Beijing] Mr. Hu Youcai Arrested Personnel from the Miyun County Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Hu
Youcai's home, arrested him, and ransacked the place at 6:00 a.m. on March 13,
2008. They confiscated a satellite dish and a computer. Mr. Hu is presently
being held at the county detention center. Miyun County 610 Office: 86-10-69066494, 86-10-69063629 24. [Heilongjiang Province] Two Practitioners Incarcerated in the Hailin
Detention Center Officials from the Harbin City Forced Labor Camp refused to admit Ms. Li
Zhuying and Ms. Chu Xiuling from Hailin City. The two practitioners are being
held at the city detention center. Officials in the detention center declared
they would put the two practitioners into a forced labor camp as soon as their

86-453-7336507, 86-453-7225858 25. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ba Lina Arrested Ms. Bao Lina, 30 years old, is a violinist in the Hegang City Beijing Opera
Company. Her child attended school at the Liming Primary School in Hegang City.
She did not want to her child to join the Communist Party's Young Pioneers, and
the school principal talked with Ms. Bao about that. Ms. Bao was arrested in
January 2008. 26. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Supplemental Information Regarding the
Arrests of Ms. Gu Li and Ms. Qiu Shuping Personnel from the Dengshahe Town Police Station arrested Ms. Gu Li and Ms.
Qiu Shuping the afternoon of March 20, 2008. The arrests took place when they
were explaining the facts about Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes at
5:00 p.m. that day. Ms. Gu was taken to Pulandian Detention Center at 3:30 p.m. the next day, and
Ms. Qiu was put in Jinzhou Sanli Detention Center. Guan Bin, Dengshahe Police Station chief: 86-411-87234477 (Office),
86-13500765293 (Cell), 86-411-87680607 (Home) 27. [Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested Four practitioners from Hetang Town in the Pengjiang District, Jiangmen City,
were arrested toward the end of 2007. They were Ms. Rong Xingnu, Ms. Hu Shuqi
and her daughter from Tagang Village, and Ms. Liao Yanyan from Nan Village. 28. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Ren Shuquan and Ms. Zhang Meilan
and Her Husband Arrested Mr. Ren Shuquan from Andi Village, Andi Town, Yinan County, was arrested and
his home was ransacked on March 3, 2008. Police confiscated 7,900 yuan
in cash, a recorder, and a satellite dish. Mr. Ren is presently being held at
the county detention center. Ms. Zhang Meilan and her husband from Nuanquan Village, Andi Town, Yinan
County, were arrested and their home was ransacked on March 3, 2008. Ms. Zhang
is being held at the county detention center while her husband has been
released. Hu Faqiang, Andi Town Police Station chief in Yinan County: 86-13573991801 29. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Yufang Arrested It has been confirmed that Ms. Zhao Yufang has been arrested. Officer Dong
Guang from the Xiaolingzi Police Station harassed several practitioners at their
homes the night of March 17, 2008. 30. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Jia'e Held in the Haizhu
District Detention Center Fifty-year-old Ms. Zhang Jia'e was arrested near Huazhou Street in Guangzhou
City the morning of March 13, 2008. Her son and daughter went to Huazhou Police
Station to inquire about their mother's situation, and were told that their
mother had been sent to the Haizhu District Detention Center (Tel.
86-20-84175682). 31. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Personnel from the Xiangshui Town
Police Station Harass Practitioners Officers Sun Shaoyou and Wang Yujun from Xiangshui Town Police Station in
Gongzhuling City harassed practitioners at their homes on March 18, 2008. They
forcibly took practitioners' fingerprints and pictures. 32. [Beijing] Mr. Bai Shaohua Held at the Beijing Forced Labor Bureau
Dispatch Center No. 2 Division Mr. Bai Shaohua was arrested on February 20, 2008, and taken to the Beijing
Forced Labor Bureau Dispatch Center's No.2 Division on March 18, 2008. Beijing
Forced Labor Committee officials sentenced Mr. Bai to one year of forced labor. Mr. Bai was previously arrested on a bus in October 2005 and then sentenced
to two and a half years of forced labor. Because he staged a protest hunger
strike, he was secretly transferred to the Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei
Province. Mr. Bai eventually became paralyzed as a result of torture and was in
dire condition. The labor camp officials were afraid to take responsibility for
his becoming ill while in police custody, so they released him. 33. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Xiang Chunhua Arrested Ms. Xiang Chunhua, in her 30s, from Hunan Province, is an accountant working
in a a large foreign enterprise in Shenzhen City. She was arrested on March 16,
2008, for distributing truth-clarification materials. Where she is being held is
