(Clearwisdom.net) On March 29, 2008, young Falun Dafa practitioners from the Minghui School Dance Team in Philadelphia were invited to perform in the 2008 award ceremony for Women Cultivating Women. The ceremony was held in Philadelphia's Electricians Union Hall.

The people attending the ceremony were Philadelphia women who made outstanding contributions in culture, art, and health. Dr. Judith A.W. Thomas, University Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Behavioral Studies, was the featured speaker for the ceremony.

The dance team of young Falun Dafa practitioners from Minghui School performed the Chinese "Lotus Dance" and demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises. Philadelphia practitioner Doctor Fang introduced the dancing to the guests and detailed the five sets of exercises. He announced that the children in the school followed "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance," and practice Falun Gong. He also shared his own experience in cultivating Falun Gong, described the wide spread of Falun Gong around the world, and exposed the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

After listening to Dr. Fang's narration, many of the attendees came forward to get Falun Dafa information. The director and host of Women Cultivating Women said, in appreciation to the guests, her thanks for the performance by Minghui School students. She appreciated Dr. Fang's sharing, which reminded everyone that when we enjoy freedom, we should think of those people who do not have freedom, and that everyone should make effort to change this.

After the awards ceremony, Ms. Angela McIver wrote to Dr. Fang by email to express her appreciation for the young practitioners' dancing. She indicated that she felt sorrow for the persecution of Falun Gong in China and the deteriorating human rights conditions in China, and said that the suffering of the victims saddened her. She said she prays for an end of the persecution as soon as possible.
