Many Falun Gong Practitioners from Yueyang City Illegally Arrested in March 2008

(Clearwisdom.net) Since March 2008, 12 Falun Gong practitioners from Yueyang City have been illegally arrested by the local 610 office, the State Security Division and police stations. On the morning of March 18, 2008, Mr. Sun Pinghua, who lives in Fengshuxincun Community, was arrested at his workplace by officers from the Jineshan Police Station. That same afternoon, Liu Xiaoming and Xie Min searched Mr. Sun's home and seized a computer, a printer, a computer desk, and even his daughter's computer.

Practitioner Mr. Hu Heping from Luowang Community was also arrested on the morning of March 18. As of now, his whereabouts are unknown. At about 8 p.m. on March 18, another practitioner Mr. Yao Dahua was arrested by several officers from the Beigang Township Police Station, including Liu Jian. At 11 a.m. on March 20, 2008, a group of police officers pried open his door and searched his home.

At about 3 p.m. on March 5, 2008, more than 10 plainclothes policemen went to practitioner Mr. Xie Zhongyi's home and asked his wife to show their IDs and marriage certificate. His wife could not find them. The officers then ransacked the house and took Mr. Xie away. Since March 8, 2008, Mr. Xie has been detained in the No. 1 Detention Center in Yueyang City. His wife is now looking after their 4-year-old child on her own.

In March 2008, practitioner Ms. Yao Hongxia, Mr. Zhong Yongbing, Mr. Xie Zhongyi, Ms. Shen Qunfang and Mr. Sun Pinghua were detained at the No. 1 Detention Center in Yueyang City. Mr. Ding Dongting was detained at the Hubin Detention Center. Mr. Fu Dongxiu was detained at the Yueyang County No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Liu Bilian was detained at the Huarong Detention Center. The whereabouts of Mr. Hu Heping, Mr. Zhang Jian and Mr. Zhou Xiangbao are unknown.
