Norway: Rally Held to Commemorate the April 25th Appeal and Expose the Persecution to the Public By Norwegian practitioner
(Clearwisdom.net) On April 25, 2008, it happened to be a
sunny day with a clear sky in Bodo, a city in Northern Norway in the Arctic
Circle. Local Falun Gong practitioners got together to practice the Falun Gong
exercises and display the photos about Falun Gong's popularity around the world
as well as the cruel persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. The
activities were intended to commemorate the "April 25" incident when
over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners peacefully appealed at the Appeals Office
of the State Council and to display the journey of Falun Gong practitioners'
nine-year efforts in resisting the persecution. Mr. Dag Olav Sivertsen was among the passers-by who stopped
to view the display boards. After viewing every photo and reading the captions
attentively, he asked the practitioners for more information about the ongoing
persecution. When knowing that the Chinese Communist regime has escalated the
operations of arresting Falun Gong practitioners in the name of hosting the
Olympics, he said that he would call the Norwegian government and urge the
government to take action to help stop the Chinese regime's persecution of Falun
Gong. As he said that he wanted to have more detailed information, the
practitioners thus gave him a copy of the "Report into Allegations of Organ
Harvesting of Falun
Gong Practitioners in China" co-written by David
Matas, famous Canadian human rights lawyer, and David
Kilgour, former member of Parliament and former Secretary of State of the
Government of Canada for the Asia-Pacific region. Though the green grass is still covered by the remaining snow; Posting date: 5/1/2008 |
