A Humble Understanding on One's Predestined Life Span

(Clearwisdom.net) I recently had a sudden realization about one's predestined life span. Those whose lives will end at a predestined time must be diligent in their Falun Gong cultivation practice; otherwise, their life might come to an end before they reach their Great Consummation.

Given that I am a young practitioner, I never felt this had anything to do with me or other young practitioners. I felt it was an issue that I didn't have to worry about for a very long time. It is my observation that this may be why younger practitioners are not as diligent in keeping up with practicing Falun Gong exercises as older practitioners.

I had not been practicing the entire five sets of Falun Gong exercises for quite a while. Yesterday I experienced slight pain while practicing the sitting meditation. It was impossible for me to enter tranquility in pain. You could imagine the quality of the sitting meditation. I was certain that it would affect the transformation of my physical body. As Falun Gong practitioners, we all know that the lack of practicing Falun Gong exercises will compromise the transformation of our body and hamper the growth of our gong potency. In addition, it will affect the quality of sending forth righteous thoughts. But why couldn't I learn from elderly practitioners to practice Falun Gong exercises daily?

In actuality, if it had not been Teacher's salvation, everything in the old universe would have perished. Teacher forgave the sins of all sentient beings both inside and outside the Three Realms. Teacher gave us opportunities to cultivate ourselves and to save sentient beings. In other words, our lives should have come to an end a long time ago. Doesn't that mean that Teacher has prolonged everyone's life? Is there any excuse for us practitioners to be attached to the secular world or any worldly desire? People who do not practice Falun Gong don't realize they owe Teacher their lives; least of all, the wicked people who have committed crimes against Falun Gong. For those like me who are not diligent in practicing Falun Gong, it is high time we ask ourselves: How we will ever be able to face Teacher, sentient beings and ourselves?

I would like to take this opportunity to invite those fellow practitioners who have paid scant attention to practicing Falun Gong exercises to start today practicing the exercises every day. From now on, let's encourage each other and overcome all reasons that stop us from practicing the exercises. Let's learn from older practitioners to practice the exercises every day of the year without skipping a day. I would also like to ask for Teacher's help to attain this goal.
