By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) For a long period of time, I had a problem comprehending the relationship between concern for security and strong righteous thoughts. I thought they were contradictory. I found that many practitioners' concern for security was masking their fears and other practitioners negated their concern for security with strong righteous thoughts. Consequently, they did less and less truth clarification because of their fears. Since they did not pay attention to security and only kept what they considered strong righteous thoughts, they were persecuted. Actually it wasn't strong righteous thoughts. They were validating themselves. I gradually understood that they were not using the Fa to guide their actions and so were not protected. Why? Their actions were only for themselves, not validating Dafa, nor for other practitioners. It was thought and action rooted in self.

Not paying attention to security has caused negative effects on three fronts.

First, worldly people saw Dafa practitioners being persecuted, but they didn't try to understand the truth of Dafa or dare to express a positive opinion of Dafa. This caused the world's people to lose the opportunity to approve of or validate Dafa, thereby they were calmly accepting the persecution.

Secondly, not paying attention to security has been interfering with Dafa practitioners validating the Fa as a whole and has created artificial barriers.

Thirdly, it has created an evil atmosphere and situation allowing crimes to be committed against practitioners. This may cause people to lose their opportunity to learn this "Fa."

My conclusion: Dafa practitioners must be upright, otherwise they're in no position to validate Dafa, but will unknowingly go along with the arrangement of the old forces.

If we abide by the Fa and pay attention to security, our careful actions will keep fellow practitioners safe. If we do not act rashly, evil won't have a chance to utilize bad people to do evil things, causing them to lose the opportunity to be saved. We should pay full attention to matters of security for the sake of saving worldly people and practitioners as a whole body without interference. As a matter of fact, our xinxing would naturally be in line with the Fa at this time. This would allow us to take whatever actions Fa-rectification requires when the need arises. We would then be at a level where love, hate, kindness, and animosity would not exist. Living completely in the Fa, living for others, living for the Fa. This is us without self or selfishness--this is us with the mindset of great enlightened beings.

Personally, I think it's very important to focus attention on the issue of security, because we need to safeguard Dafa cultivation and activities. It is a manifestation of xinxing levels to assist Teacher during Fa rectification. Evils still exists and our surroundings still require correction. The vicious evil actions still interfere with the Dafa activities and anti-persecution activities around the world. This is not to cover up the attachment of fear, but is for the sake of saving more people as well as bringing greater benevolence for more people, showing the greatness of Buddha nature manifesting great mercy, compassion, and tolerance.

The bottom line is that the Fa is the highest. If the Fa is the highest, then self becomes small, and even disappears. If the Fa is the highest, then all of our attachments should disappear. If the Fa is the highest, then we will not be weakened or become lost. If the Fa is the highest, then we are reborn in Fa-rectification.

I comprehend that focusing on security is a requirement of Fa-rectification. It's purpose is validating the Fa. It manifests the beauty of the Fa, by enabling us to think and speak based on knowledge of the Fa (not just security) to enlighten sentient beings. We wouldn't do extreme things and we would be certain to do things in an upright manner if we focus on security and the Fa. What we're giving up is our selfish selves, and what rises up is our true selves. What comes out of cultivation is pure gold, and what we save will be more sentient beings.
