Many Retired Schoolteachers Harassed and Arrested in Chongqing City

(Clearwisdom.net) Officers of the Domestic Security Division in the Jiangbei District Police Department of Chongqing City, led by Liang Shibin (male), have recently harassed and arrested numerous practitioners in Jiangbei District, including retired teachers Ms. Yan Guangbi, Ms. Wen Bin, Ms. Hu Zhanying, and Ms. Wang Subi, among others. These retired teachers are currently missing and believed to be detained at an undisclosed location undergoing forced brainwashing.

Practitioner Ms. Yan Guangbi, who is about 60 years old, is a retired teacher from Mitingzi Elementary School in Jiangbei District. Due to persecution by officers of the police department and the 610 Office, she became blind a year ago. Around 5 p.m. on April 21, 2008, a group of police officers led by Liang Shibin illegally entered Ms. Yan Guangbi's home and arrested her. She has been missing ever since.

Practitioner Ms. Wen Bin, who is over 60 years old, retired with honors from teaching at Sifangjing Elementary School in Jiangbei District. On March 19, 2008, she went to a hospital to visit friends. She was arrested by an officer with the Jiangbei District Police Department. She has been missing ever since. That same day, police officers ransacked Ms. Wen's home and left with some personal property, including paper currency stamped with truth clarification messages.

Practitioner Ms. Hu Zhanying is almost 70 years old. She retired with honors from No. 18 Middle School in Chongqing City. On the afternoon of March 24, 2008, as she entered her home with her grade school grandson, a group of police officers led by Liang Shibin rushed in and arrested her. They also ransacked her home, seizing many items including purses, computers, and some truth clarification material. It is reported that Ms. Hu is being illegally detained and mistreated in a brainwashing center in Chongqing City.

Practitioner Ms. Wang Subi is over 60 years old. She is a retired level 1 teacher from No. 18 Middle School in Chongqing City. Around 4 p.m. on March 31, 2008, police officers from the Jiangbei District Police Department, led by Liang Shibin, suddenly entered Ms. Wang Subi's home, ransacked the place ,and arrested her. They have yet to inform her family of her whereabouts. It is reported that she is in a brainwashing center.

Practitioner Ms. Wu Bangying, 60 years old, is a retired level 1 teacher from No. 18 Middle School in Chongqing City. Around 6 p.m. on March 31, 2008, officers from the Jiangbei District Police Department, led by Liang Shibin, ransacked her home and arrested her. She was confined in a brainwashing center in Chongqing City and only recently allowed to return home.

In another case, practitioner Ms. Chen Shanju, in her 40s, is unemployed and living in Daxing Village, Jiangbei District. On the morning of April 7, 2008, seven or eight police officers led by Liang Shibin attempted to arrest Ms. Chen from her home. She was not at home, but the police officers ransacked her home. She chose to become homeless in order to avoid further persecution. In her family, only her husband works and she has a son in high school. Their finances are very precarious.

The police officers from the Jiangbei District Police Department that participated in the raids are: Liang Shibin, Liu Ling (female), Chen Xiaodong (male), Luo Mingchuan (male), among others.
