Taiwan: Taitung Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day (Photos)
By a Falun Gong practitioner in Taitung
(Clearwisdom.net) To celebrate World Falun Dafa Day, Falun Gong
practitioners held a group practice at the Taitung County Stadium to demonstrate
the peaceful and beautiful Falun Gong exercises. Practitioners also
congratulated the founder of Falun Gong, Mr. Li Hongzhi, on his birthday, and
expressed their respect and gratitude toward revered Master. The Taitung Tang
Drum Troupe, composed of practitioners, presented a joyous performance to greet
the arrival of the day when Heaven and Earth celebrate together. The peaceful exercise music and gentle and smooth movements of the five sets
of Falun Gong exercises drew people's attention to the practitioners' group
practice at the stadium. Some young students joined the group and learned to
practice. Following the group practice, the Tang Drum Troupe gave a performance.
The drumming was clear and vigorous, and the audience expressed their
enthusiasm. Practitioner Ms. Lin said that since she obtained the book Zhuan
Falun from a friend six years ago, she has been studying the Falun
Gong books and doing the exercises on a daily basis. She was plagued by
illnesses for a long time, but all was cured unwittingly after she began
practicing Falun Gong. By conducting herself according to the principles of
"Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," she remains in sound health and
a happy mood. Her family and friends also support her. She emphasized that Falun
Gong has benefited her whole family, and has helped over 100 million people
worldwide find the true meaning of life. In order to stop the Chinese Communist Party's brutal persecution of Falun
Gong over the past nine years, practitioners held a banner at the stadium that
read, "Millions of Signatures Global Campaign to Demand an Immediate End to
the Persecution." Many people listened to the practitioners' explanations
and then signed the petition to support practitioners' efforts. A football coach
called for a pause in his players' training exercises, and got them to line up
to sign their names to support the campaign. Some children saw the photos
depicting the persecution, and went to find other classmates to come to sign the
petition. A senior high school teacher signed the petition and asked for a
signature collection form. He said he would bring it to his school and tell his
students so that his students and many more people could work together to
support the effort of calling for an end to the persecution. |
