(Clearwisdom.net) Todays' News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 29 cities and counties in 14 provinces. In this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during their detention and at least 80 practitioners were illegally arrested.

At 11 p.m. on April 26, 2008, the police from the Shenzhen City 610 Office and the Shenzhen Police Department suddenly broke into the home of Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhang Yanbiao and his wife, Ms. Dong Lanlan, in Futian District. They searched the home and found a batch of truth-clarifying materials. The police took the couple away.

At the end of April 2008, the police from the Anqing City 610 Office arrested three practitioners. They were Ms. Liu; Mr. Liu Zhongkai, who is 62 years old and a retired teacher from Wangjiang County; and Ms. Zhou Jingwen from Yingjiang District.

On the morning of April 24, 2008, policeman Chen Yugui and other officers from the Senlin Police Department of Linjiang City went to harass Ms. Jiang Liming. They took her to the police department on the charge of practicing Falun Gong. Her husband had 500 yuan extorted from him, but the police still did not release Ms. Jiang.

At 9 p.m. on March 4, 2008, Shijiazhuang practitioner Ms. Zhou Rongxi was arrested by police while she was putting up truth-clarifying posters. She was detained in the Liuying Police Station. After her family had 10,000 yuan extorted from them, and she was released that night.

At 10 p.m. on April 23, 2008, police from the Qianjin Police Station arrested practitioner Ms. Cui Wenlan. The police searched her home and took away a computer, a printer, cash, etc. On April 24, practitioners Mr. An Min and his wife from Gaoguan were arrested.

Claiming to be checking temporary residents, officers from all local police stations in Songyuan City checked each resident's. Between April 5 and April 25, 2008, 13 practitioners were arrested, including Ms. Zhang Shuqing, Uncle Guo , Mr. Bi Zhongju, Mr. Bao Xueli, Mr. Shao Changfu, Ms. Bai Yuqin, Mr. Sun Zhixue, Ms. Bi Xiuren, Ms. Fu Lihong, Ms. Zheng Yanmei, Ms. Teng Xianru, Granny Liu, and Ms. Duan Liang'e.

On the morning of April 26, police from the Juchenghe Town Police Station in Gaomi City arrested two elderly practitioners who were distributing truth-clarifying materials. They are being detained in the Gaomi City Detention Center.

On the afternoon of April 24, 2008, police from the 610 Office, the police department, and the National Security Team of Lishu County, arrested practitioner Mr. Dai Jingbo from Lishu Town, Lishu County, and searched his home.

On April 3, 2008, Wuhan practitioners Ms. Cheng and Ms. Zhao Fenglan, who runs a hot-pot restaurant, were arrested while they were clarifying the truth on the campus of Hualong. On April 18, Ms. Cheng was released. Ms. Zhao is still being detained.

Around 12 p.m. on April 25, 2008, seven policemen from the Yangqu County Police Department and the Houcun Township Police Station searched the homes of four practitioners. Now Mr. Cao Laohu is being detained in the Yangqu County Detention Center and Ms. Cao Dongzi and Mr. Chunwang are being detained at the Yangqu County Police Department.

Dianjiang County wantonly arrested practitioners with the excuse of the Olympic Games. On April 27, 2008, Mr. Xiong Dahuai was arrested by the National Security Police. His whereabouts is unknown.

Ms. Tang Juzhang was released from prison. In the beginning of March 2008, she was again arrested by police because she clarified the truth at work. She has been sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Mr. Lin Yousheng is about 40 years old and lives at Xinyang Road, Nanning City. At 7 a.m. on March 13, 2008, he was arrested. Afterwards, his home was searched. A computer, a printer, and Dafa books were taken away. Mr. Lin is being detained in the Nanning City First Detention Center. His family members are not allowed to visit him.

Ms. Miao Haizhou and her daughter, Ms. Wang Xiuhong from Qinghua Township, Wuan City, were arrested. Ms. Wangwas sentenced to one year and nine months of forced labor. Ms. Miao was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. They are being held in the Hebei Provincial Women's Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Ye Guihua is from the Base Construction Team of the Shihezi 132^th Troup in Xinjiang. On April 2, she was arrested by the 132^th Troupe Police Station while she was distributing truth-clarifying materials in the 132^th Troupe. On April 3, she was transferred to the Shihezi Second Detention Center.

When Anshan practitioner Ms. Zhang Guangyuan was detained in Shenyang Women's Prison, she was beaten with her arms and legs stretched out and her mouth stuffed. Now she has symptoms of hypertension and a heart attack.

Piao Yufeng is the chief of the Baiyilage Township Police Station in Qianguoerluosi County, Songyuan City. On April 24, 2008, he led police to the home of practitioner Mr. Wei Senyan and planned to arrest him. Because Mr. Wei was not at home, the police took his wife, Ms. Liu Junjie, and his 18-year-old son, Wei Qingming. Now Wei Qingming is being detained in the county lock-up, and Ms. Liu is in the county detention center.

On April 20, 2008, Mr. Shao Changpu and Ms. Fu Lihong from Fuyu County were arrested by the Songyuan City Police Department while they were in Songyuan City on business. On April 21, police from the National Security Team of Songyuan City went to search their homes. From Fu Lihong's home the police took away a computer; from Shao Changpu's home the police took away Dafa books, a cell phone, etc. Mr. Shao's younger sister, Ms. Shao Chunying, was also arrested. She is being detained in the Fuyu County Detention Center. Mr. Shao Changpu and Ms. Fu Lihong are being detained in the Shanyou Detention Center in Songyuan City.

On the evening of April 21, 2008, the Police Department and National Security Team of Songyuan City arrested Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Gao Min, Xiao Fan, Mr. Wang Cai and his wife.

At 8 or 9 p.m. on April 22, 2008, police from the Songyuan City 610 Office and the Caijiagou Police Station rushed into Caijiagou Town, Fuyu County and arrested practitioners Mr. Yan Qingyu; his wife, Ms. Zhang Hongqin; and Mr. Wang Yanzhang from Zhushan Village. They are being detained in the Fuyu County Detention Center.

Ms. Xu Xia is an assistant of the Falun Gong practice site in the Chaoyang District Army Retirement Center. In the first half of April 2008, she and her daughter were arrested at her daughter's home. Now their whereabouts are unknown.

On the morning of March 18, 2008, policeman Liu Guishuan and other officers from Mancheng, Baoding City, sent Mr. Wei Haihe to Balizhuang Forced Labor Camp in Baoding City for a one and a half year term. Mr. Wang Haixu and Mr. Yin Baoyin were each sent to Shijiazhuang Detention Center for a one and a half year term.

On April 16, 2008, Ms. Wei Yanli was sent to the Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp for a two year term.

On April 18, 2008, police from the Tuanjie Street of the Ningjiang District Police Department arrested Ms. Zeng Qingxia at her home and confiscated Dafa books, etc.

In February and March 2008, practitioners Mr. Wang Qingzhao and Ms. Wang Lina were arrested by the Liulitun 610 Office. They were sentenced to two years' forced labor. Now they are being detained in Tiantanghe Forced Labor Camp in Beijing.

At the beginning of April 2008, practitioners Ms. Zhang Huimin and Ms. Wang Lihua from Shilibao were taken away from their homes by the police from the 610 Office and sent to a "Transformation" Class.

Ms. Zhang Huantao is 63 years old and lives in Chengguan Town, Liangcheng County, Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia. At 7 a.m. on April 28, she was arrested by the county National Security Team while she was distributing truth-clarifying materials. Her home was searched and Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials were confiscated.

On September 27, 2005, Ms. Zhao Meiling was arrested by the Weihai 610 Office. She was sentenced to a three year term in a forced labor camp. She is being detained in the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Wu Bilin is nearly 60 years old and an accountant. On August 6 2007, she was arrested because she clarified the truth to others. She has been detained until now. Recently, she went on a hunger strike to protest but was force-fed. Now she is very weak.

Mr. Li Bin is around 30 years old and a coach of table-tennis. He had been sentenced to three years' imprisonment. When he was released, his nerves were injured as a result of persecution and he could not walk normally. In November 2007, he was detained in Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center for three months. At the end of January 2008, he was released. Later he was arrested again and he is now being detained in Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center.

Using the Olympic Games as an excuse Tonghua City government officials have intensified the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. At 8:30 p.m., the Tonghua National Security Team and all local police stations rushed into the homes of practitioners who were on their list. The police pried open doors, searched homes, and arrested practitioners.

Now it is known that the following practitioners were arrested: Ms. Qin Xiuli, Ms. Wang Ronglan, Ms. Wang Ping, Ms. Liu Baozhen, Ms. Yan Shufang, Mr. Hu Song, Ms. Song Guixiang, Ms. Ge Changlan, Ms. Wei Baoxia, Mr. Peng, Ms. Wang Yonghua, Ms. Sun Juping. They are being detained in Tonghua Detention Center and Kuaida Detention Center of Tonghua County.

Mr. Gao Congjiu lives in Weishanzhuang Village, Daxing District, Beijing. On January 22, 2007, he was arrested. In February 2008, he was sentenced to five years' imprisonment. Now he is being detained in Jinghai Prison in Tianjin City.

Around 9 a.m. on March 15, 2008, police from the Sidaoqiao Police Station in Dandong City broke into the home of practitioner Mr. Wang Bingyu in Yongan Community in Jinhai. The police took away about 5000 yuan in cash, a computer, a cell phone, and other property. They also arrested Wang Bingyu's older brother. Later on, the police arrested Mr. Wang Bingyu (63 years old) and his wife Ms. Leng Ping (57 years old), Mr. Fan (70 years old), and Mr. Zhao.

On April 25, 2008, Songyuan police rushed into Dashan Township, Qianguo County, and arrested practitioners Ms. Zhao Guiping, Ms. Ji Yingzi, Mr. Liu Wanfang, and Mr. Si Xuemin.

Mr. Sun Kaiqing is about 55 years old and a practitioner in Nangang District, Harbin City. On April 18, 2008, he was arrested when he went out to clarify the truth. Now he is being detained in the detention center of the Nangang Police Department.

Mr. Sun has been arrested and persecuted three times. In October 2000, he went to Beijing to validate the Fa. He was held in the detention center of the Nangang Police Department for about two months. In September 2001, he was arrested by the Haxi Police Station of Nangang District because he clarified the truth. He was detained in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City for two years. In October 2004, he was arrested by Qingbin Police Station of Nangang District because he clarified the truth. He was detained in Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp for another two years.

Around 7 a.m. on April 22, 2008, five or six policemen from the Yuqiao Police Station in Tongzhou District, Beijing, rushed into the home of practitioner Ms. Feng Xiulan, searched the home, and arrested Ms. Feng. Now she is being detained in the Qiaozhuang Detention Center.

On March 20, 2008, practitioners Ms. Gu Li and Ms. Qiu Shuping from Dengshahe Town, Jizhou District, Dalian City, were arrested. The Jinzhou District Court plans to sentence them in the near future.

Around 10 am on April 26, 2008, policemen from the Beitao Police Station and the Tiexi National Security Team in Tiexi District, Anshan City, Liaoning Province, went to search the home of practitioner Li Peisheng. The police took away a computer, a VCD player, a TV, and Master's pictures.

Li Peisheng had been sentenced to four years' imprisonment.

On the evening of April 23, 2008, police from the Taohaotai Township Police Station in Qianguo County, Songyuan City, broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Ju Guilan, took away a computer, a MP3 player, Dafa books, USB drivers, etc., and arrested her. Now she is being detained in the Qianguo County Detention Center.

Police from the Jiexi Police Station and the Forestry Bureau Police Station went to harass the local practitioners one by one. Using the Olympic Games as an excuse, the police threatened many practitioners, restricting their personal freedom and not allowing them to come as go as they please.

In name of the Olympic Games, Yushu police harassed and arrested practitioners. It is said that the mayor would be dismissed if one person from Yushu City goes to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong during the Olympic Games.

On April 28, 2008, police from the Dalianwan Town Police Station arrested Ms. Li Shumei from Pingdu City while she was clarifying the truth near her home. Afterwards, her home was searched and the police took away Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials, etc.

At 8 p.m. on April 23, 2008, the local police from the Tiebei Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Yu Wanquan in Meihekou City. The police took away his property including a computer, Dafa books,n a MP3 player, and truth-clarifying CDs.

At the same time, the Hongmei Town Police Department arrested many practitioners including Ms. Li Yan, Mr. Song Zhonghua, Ms. Li Yuhua, Ms. Wu Guijuan, Ms. Zhang Chunyan, Mr. Wang Anping, Mr. Sui, and Ms. Zhang. At 3 p.m. on April 24, 2008, the police searched the home of Mr. Gai Yongguang and Ms. Wang Xiujuan and took away three laptops, three printers, two mimeographes, a satellite receiver, printer materials, etc. Now Gai Yongguang and Wang Xiujuan have been forced to become homeless and destitute in order to avoid being arrested at home.

On the evening of April 23, 2008, about a dozen policemen from the Gongzhuling Police Department in Jilin City broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Song Lihua on the fifth floor and arrested her. The police also took her daughter, Li Binbin, and her granddaughter, Zhao Hao, who are not practitioners. Li Binbin and Zhao Hao were released after being detained for one day. About a dozen practitioners including Ms. Song Lihua, Ms. Qu Yaping, Ms. Zhang Lihua, Ms. Song Zhihong, and Mr. Li Hongjun are being detained Gongzhuling Detention Center.

On the morning of April 22, 2008, police from the Hetou Police Station and the Tanggu District Police Department in Tianjin City arrested Ms. Huang Huixiang and four other practitioners. The four other practitioners have been released, but Ms. Huang is being detained in the Zhaojiadi Detention Center in Tanggu District, Tianjin City.

In April 2008, practitioner Ms. Wang Shizhen from Haidian District, Beijing, was arrested. Now she is being detained in Daxing Women's Forced Labor Camp for a two-year term.
