Agents from the Shapingba 610 Office in Chongqing Abuse Mr. Lei Zhengxia and His Wife
(Clearwisdom.net) Li Hong, Shapingba 610 Office head, the
District Domestic Security Division head in Chongqing and other Chinese
Communist Party (CCP) personnel illegally arrested retired teacher
Mr. Lei Zhengxia and terrorized his wife Li Weiqun. The arrest took place
because the couple clarified the truth to students, telling them
that Falun Gong is treated unjustly, that the "Tiananmen
self-immolation" was staged by the government as propaganda, and that
reports on the TV, in newspapers and other media defaming Falun Gong are untrue.
The couple suffered a brutal beating. Lei Zhengxia sustained two broken ribs. He
hemorrhaged internally and was in critical condition. Mr. Lei Zhengxia, 62 years old, is a retired teacher from the Xiaolongkan
Vocational Middle School in Chongqing. His wife, 53-year-old Li Weiqun, is a
retired staff member from the Fengmingshan Middle School in Chongqing. Their
12-year-old daughter Lei Qiaofeng is a sixth-grader in an elementary school. At about 2:00 p.m. on January 14, 2008, Shapingba District Domestic Security
Division head Li Hong, Xinqiao police station political head Ou Lichang,
policewoman Liu Beiping, a 610 Office agent (female) and two other Xinqiao
policemen abruptly intruded into Lei Zhengxia's home. As soon as they barged in,
policewoman Liu Beiping took Lei's 2008 calendar with the words "Falun Dafa
is Good" off the wall. Li Hong, Ou Lichang and others broke into the
bedroom, locked the door from inside and started the illegal search, taking
photographs as they ransacked the place. From the kitchen, Li Weiqun saw them breaking in. She tried to stop them,
saying, "What do you want? What crime have we committed?" The two
policemen rushed forward and pulled Ms. Li outside. Li Weiqun's daughter was
frightened and cried, "Don't take my Mom! Don't take my Mom!" The
woman from the 610 Office said hurriedly, "Don't worry, don't worry!"
While dragging Ms. Li, the two police officers said, "We will teach you a
lesson!" Ms. Li shouted loudly, "Let me go!" The two policemen
pulled Ms. Li about 20 meters to a corner of the residential compound. Ms. Li
fell to the ground. Because there were too many bystanders, policewoman Liu
Beiping was afraid of triggering the people's anger. She instructed the others
to halt the violence. The two policemen had to let go, and Ms. Li ran back into
her home. Lei Zhengxia was napping in his bedroom. He got up and opened the door to see
what was happening. Li Hong stuck Lei Zhengxia's face and head, throwing three
fierce punches, flinging Lei Zhengxia's eyeglasses away. Li Hong pushed Lei
Zhengxia to the ground, fiercely kicked his mid-section and back four times, and
dragged him into a police car. Li Hong shouted, "I am going to turn your home upside down! I am going
to search every inch! Take away everything! I vow not to rest!" They
confiscated five copies of Zhuan Falun and a dozen other Dafa
books, several dozen copies of the "Minghui Weekly" and other
Falun Gong materials, and three copies of the Nine Commentaries on the
Communist Party. They also walked off with a dozen DVDs, music and TV
programs, a DVD player, a "Falun Dafa is Good" calendar, a picture of
Master Li, an incense burner, four MP3 players and other personal belongings. That night, under Li Hong's direction, local Xinqiao policemen Lu Hongfei and
Shi interrogated Lei Zhengxia. Lei Zhengxia replied, "Falun Gong teaches us
to follow Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, to be good people; what's wrong with
that?" He demanded to be taken to the hospital for an evaluation of his
back and mid-section where Li Hong had kicked him. It was extremely painful for
him to stand, and he could not straighten his body. Li Hong shouted, "You
deserve it!" Li Hong, Shi and two other police officers took Lei Zhengxia
to the Beiheling Detention Center in Shapingba District after midnight. That same night around 9 o'clock, local Xinqiao police officials dispatched
cars carrying four husky fellows who rushed into Lei Zhengxia's home and again
attempted to arrest Li Weiqun, but no one was home. They tried to arrest her for
several days following, but were unsuccessful. Xinqiao police also searched Lei
Zhengxia's younger sister Lei Jiqiu's home twice, in complete violation of the
Chinese Constitution, but didn't find anything. During Lei Zhengxia's detention, persecutor Li Hong instructed two district
610 Office personnel (one of them surnamed Zhang) to interrogate Lei Zhengxia
and shouted at him, "Without my authorization, there is no way for you to
get out!" Police said Mr. Lei Zhengxia and his wife had distributed Falun
Gong materials on DVDs to the middle school. They said that this had "too
big an impact," so they had to "take care of the two" in a
malicious manner. While Lei Zhengxia was in the detention center he repeatedly told the guards
and the on-site medical doctor that his back and midsection hurt from the
ruthless beating. The detention center officials didn't care, not until the
afternoon of January 25, 2008. Then they took Lei Zhengxia in shackles and
handcuffs to the Chongqing Tumor Hospital for an examination. They concealed the
diagnosis and returned Lei Zhengxia to detention. On January 26, 2008 Lei Zhengxia's abdomen was in severe pain after dinner.
The on-site medical doctor couldn't deal with the situation. They put Lei
Zhengxia in shackles and handcuffs again and went to the Tumor Hospital for
another exam. Lei Zhengxia couldn't walk due to excruciating pain. He sat in a
wheelchair, and the "cooperating attendants" pushed him. When no one
was looking, they kicked Lei Zhengxia from the back and aggravated his misery. The doctor's diagnosis suspected acute peritonitis, and acute perforation of
the stomach and intestines. A nurse gave Lei Zhengxia an injection to stop the
pain, and Lei was taken back to detention. That night Lei Zhengxia vomited 13
times, in great pain. On January 27, 2008, shortly after 8:00 a.m. Lei Zhengxia
suddenly lost consciousness and fell down. The detention center officials feared being held responsible for his
condition. They sent Lei to the Tumor Hospital for emergency care. The diagnosis
revealed two broken ribs and acute perforation of the stomach and intestines,
just like the doctor had diagnosed previously. He needed immediate surgery. The
stomach surgery took place on January 27, 2008. Mr. Lei was sent home on
