Detained Practitioners Should Not Go on Hunger Strikes and Suffer
By a practitioner from Jinzhou City
(Clearwisdom.net) Practitioners are arrested, sentenced to forced
labor, and imprisoned. They are detained in detention centers, forced labor
camps and prisons, where they are subjected to various kinds of persecution and
torture. As practitioners, we do not accept any of these forms of persecution.
In these places where evil beings congregate, the methods of persecution and
torture are more vicious. It shows that the evil is on the verge of total defeat
and is making its last-ditch effort. We practitioners should not just sit there,
passively awaiting the persecution. Then, what should we do to manifest our denial of the persecution? What
should we do to walk the path arranged by Teacher? Practitioners who are
detained sometimes go on hunger strikes. Some of the practitioners on hunger
strikes in the past were released, and some of them lost their lives. More
recently, most practitioners on hunger strikes have not been released. Moreover,
they suffer even more in the force-feeding. Now that the evil is nearly
extinguished, it is retreating and concentrating in detention centers, forced
labor camps and prisons in order to sustain the already hard-to-maintain
persecution. Facing such a situation, if the detained practitioners go on hunger
strikes once they are detained, doesn't doing that fall into the arrangements of
the old forces? Facing the tribulation, how can we entirely deny such
arrangements? It requires practitioners' rational thinking to answer the question. We
should use the supernormal abilities endowed upon us by Teacher and righteous
thoughts to stop the evil instead of going on hunger strikes and letting the
persecution go on. I think that having enough food and drink, sending forth
righteous thoughts, doing truth clarification, reciting the Fa and conducting
ourselves according to the Fa is more in line with the requirements of the Fa. In the article "My Understanding about Hunger Strikes" published on
Clearwisdom, the author wrote, "In my opinion, going on a hunger strike is
a way of cultivation by practitioners that remains within the form of
persecution arranged by the old forces, and it is not in accordance with the Fa."
The author was sentenced to three years of forced labor but he did not go on
hunger strikes. He ate and drank as appropriate and kept a high spirit and
healthy mental status to clarify the truth to others. He told others how the CCP
used lies and slander to poison ordinary people and how the CCP persecutes
practitioners with inhuman methods. He did not care a bit about the length of
the sentence and let go of his attachments. He kept doing what he was supposed
to do as a practitioner in the place where he was detained. In the end, he was
released on bail for medical treatment after four months of detention. Based on his enlightenment and personal experiences, the author reminded us
to rethink it: Is going on hunger strikes in detention centers, forced labor
camps and prisons where the evil is concentrated, the only way that
practitioners can deny the persecution? The places where evil congregates is
also the dimension where sentient beings are blocked off from being saved and
where practitioners' righteous thoughts are needed. Just as emphasized in the
Clearwisdom editorial of June 26, 2006, "Asking Practitioners in Each
Region to Look Inward, Learn from Previous Failures, Cultivate Diligently, and
Follow the Fa-Rectification Process": "To those regions where severe
persecution has already taken place, let's work together to turn the persecution
into opportunities that break the old force's arrangements, expose the evil, and
save sentient beings. Let the evil's destructive test never reach us, and let us
diligently advance together in the Fa!" Then how can fellow practitioners who are suffering the tribulation achieve
it? Since Teacher published the scripture "Thoroughly Dissolve the
Evil", practitioners have been going to these places every day to send
forth righteous thoughts at a close range. Now, as the evil is detaining
practitioners in these places (of course we do not acknowledge the persecution
and should entirely deny it), we practitioners should utilize the situation and
use our strong righteous thoughts to stop the persecution and completely
eliminate the evil in the detention places. This way, the evil will not have any
place to hide. Will it still have any reason to persecute practitioners, then? If the detained practitioners deny the slave labor and keep on sending forth
righteous thoughts, clarifying the truth, and reciting the Fa all the time,
except while sleeping; if the detained practitioners can realize that in the
last period of Fa-rectification hunger strikes are not the only form of denying
the persecution; if the detained practitioners can eliminate the evil with
righteous thoughts rationally so as to better save sentient beings; would the
evil dare to continue to detain practitioners? When all the evil has been eliminated by practitioners' righteous thoughts,
would the evil still be able to detain practitioners? Isn't this our way of
stopping the persecution with righteous thoughts? Isn't this walking the path
arranged by Teacher? "Disciples' righteous thoughts are strong (Hong Yin Volume II, "Master-Disciple Grace") The safest way is to walk the path arranged by Teacher. At the same time, practitioners from outside can coordinate with
practitioners inside and participate in the 24-hour relay of sending forth
righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil. By doing this, we will form a solid
and unconquerable, whole body and transform the evil places where practitioners
are persecuted and tortured into a Fa rectification field where our supernormal
abilities defeat the evil beings. When all the evil beings in prisons, detention
centers and forced labor camps are completely eliminated, would they still dare
to detain practitioners there? The above is my personal understanding. Fellow practitioners, please point
out anything that is not right.
Master has the power to turn the tide."
