Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Benxi City, Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Police officers from Huanren County, Benxi City, Liaoning Province arrested a number of Falun Gong practitioners on April 24, 2008, under the pretext of trying to forestall possible appeals during the Olympics.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., on April 24, 2008, more than ten police officers went to the home of Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zheng Kuixin (50 years old), and Ms. Lin Huizhi (60). They took two desktop computers, two laptops, three printers, one copy machine, more than 6,000 yuan in cash, as well as other personal items. Ms. Zheng was arrested and taken to the Huanren County Detention Center. Among the police officers, only Song Guoqiang (male, phone: 86-414-3981800) was identified by a witness.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Lei (47) was arrested at about 7:30 a.m., on April 24, 2008, by police officers who emerged from two cars parked in front of her house and then proceeded to ransack the home. They confiscated a desktop computer, a laptop, a printer, a cell phone, truth-clarifying materials, and other personal items. She is detained at the Huanren County Detention Center where she was also tortured.

Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Wang Dong (36) and Ms. Qi Zhenhong (33) were arrested at about 7:30 a.m., on April 24, 2008. Police officers confiscated a laptop computer and other personal items. The couple is being detained at the Huanren County Detention Center.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Ming is in his forties. On the morning of April 24, 2008, his home was ransacked. Police officers confiscated a computer and have detained him at the Huanren County Detention Center.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Dong Renqing (64) was arrested at about 7:30 a.m., on April 24, 2008 by five police officers and his home was ransacked. Police officers confiscated one cell phone, a tape recorder and books. He is detained at the Huanren County Detention Center.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Yunsheng (59) was arrested at about 7:30 a.m., on April 24, 2008 by five police officers who also ransacked his home. They confiscated a tape recorder, books and other personal items. During the process of being arrested, Mr. Zhang cried, "Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good" until he was taken into the car. He was detained at the Huanren County Detention Center.
