(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 35 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 12 practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during their detention and 77 practitioners were illegally arrested.

On December 12, 2006, Mr. Zhao Fengbing and Ms. Ma Xiaokun from Weixian County were arrested by personnel from the 610 Office and police officers from the National Security Division, which is located on the street near the residential area of the Finance Bureau. The practitioners were taken to the Weixian County Detention Center where they were "illegally detained." Those in charge extorted large sums from Ms. Ma's family to secure her release. Mr. Zhao was transferred to Zhangjiakou Detention Center. He suffered a mental collapse due to torture. He was unable to take care of himself. On February 10, 2007, he was released from Zhangjiakou Detention Center.

On April 23, 2008, Changchun police and the head of the provincial police ordered police from the Shuguang Road Police Station to arrest Mr. Li Jingsong and other practitioners at the Ouya Science and Technology Shopping Center. The policemen confiscated goods worth more than 100,000 yuan including computers, a cell phone, printers, blank CDs, and burners.

In the morning on April 24, 2008 Mr. Shang Wu and Ms. Yang Chundong from Guangshui City were arrested when they were sending forth righteous thoughts near a detention center. The hoped to rescue detained practitioners Ms. Shen Jilian, Ms. Ai Deying, and Ms. Wang Yanfeng. They were taken to a suburban police station.

That afternoon, personnel from the city's 610 Office and officers from the local police station ransacked Mr. Shang Wu and Ms. Yang Chundong's homes and confiscated two computers, external hard-drives, and other items. The two were taken to a detention center that evening.

Ms. Yang Guizhen, Ms. Cui Yulan, Ms. Wang Chunyan, and Ms. Zhou Yonghui from Benxi City were "illegally arrested." The police confiscated three laptop computers, two copy machines, two high speed printers, 70 boxes of paper, and about a dozen boxes of blank CDs.

Mr. Yu Ping and his wife, both from the Chaoyang District, were arrested in the early morning of April 23.

On April 20, 2008, eight officers from Donghuamen Police Station forced their way into Ms. Sun Huilan's home and coerced her husband to take them to Ms. Sun's work unit and bring her home. They ransacked her home and found several Falun Dafa books, some truth-clarification VCDs, and printing materials. They arrested 52-year-old Ms. Sun and took her to the Qiliqu Detention Center.

Ms. Wan Daping was arrested on March 20, 2008. Ms. Yang Jinghui was arrested on April 18 at her place of work.

On April 24, 2008, policemen from Hengren County Police Department arrested seven practitioners: Ms. Zheng Kuixin, Ms. Lin Guizhi, Mr. Deng Renqing. Mr. Zhang Yunsheng, Ms. Qi Zhehong, Mr. Wang Dong, and Mr. Xu Ming.

Between March 8 and 10, 12 practitioners were arrested in Bengbu City. Ms. Yang Huaiyuan has been sentenced to two years of forced labor to be served outside the forced labor camp. Ms. Wang Huamei was illegally detained for 15 days.

Mr. Chen Shidiao was arrested by personnel of the local 610 Office and taken to a brainwashing center. He is still detained at the center.

At about 6 a.m. on April 24, 2008, officers from the Zhaozhou Police Station forced their way into Ms. Cui Shuqin's home and arrested her. She is now in Zhaozhou City Detention Center.

On April 13, 2008, Mr. Ma Qiyan from Dengzhou City was arrested while handing out truth-clarification materials in the Dengzhou City Hospital. He is now in the Dengzhou City Detention Center.

On April 15, 2008, Mr. Ouyang Xiaoming from the Nonferrous Metal Institute of Guangdong Province was arrested. Ms. Wang Ying from the Geochemistry Institute, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Guangzhou Branch; Mr. Huang Zihui from Liwan District, Guanzhou City; and Ms. Zou Danyu and her husband were also arrested. They are "illegally detained" in the Tianhe District Detention Center.

On the evening of April 23, 2008, the political commissar of the Meihekou City Political and Judiciary Commission ordered officers from various local police stations to arrest Mr. Yu Wanquan, Mr. Wang Anping, and Mr. Ji Yunlong from Meihekou City.

On April 23, 2008, city police arrested Ms. Er Jie, Ms. Ping Jie, and Mr. and Mrs. Lao Si.

Ms. Jiang Hong and Ms. Liu Xixia from Lishu County were arrested on April 23, 2008. Their homes were ransacked. The evildoers confiscated three cell phones, a laptop, a Cannon printer, and other items from Ms. Liu's home.

On April 25, 2008, the Changchun Police Department began mass arrests of practitioners because of the Beijing Olympics. The arrests will not end until the Olympics are over.

In the evening on April 23, 2008, officers from the Shimenzai Police Station arrested Mr. Ki Guibing from Shimenzai, Yuning County, Qinhuangdao City. He was distributing truth-clarification materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is in the Funing County Detention Center.

Ms. Xu Hui, 46 years old, is a geography teacher at Dalinzi Township No. 2 High School, Fuyu County, Songyuan City. On the afternoon of April 24, 2008 she was summoned to the township police station, where she was arrested. Her whereabouts is unknown.

In April 2008, retired teachers Mr. Yan Guangbi, Mr. Wenbin, Ms. Wang Subi, and Ms. Hu Zhanying from Jiangbei District, Chongqing City, were arrested.

In the evening on April 23, 2008, six officrs from the Nanjing Road Police Station, Jilin City, arrested Ms. Shi Jingyu of Jilin City at her home. They ransacked her home.

On July 20, 2007, Ms. Xu Huim and Mr. Cai Chao and his mother went to Beijing to display a Falun Gong banner to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. Police from the Tiananmen Police Station in Beijing arrested them and took them to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. Ms. Xu was on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and is emaciated. Prison guards have forbidden Ms. Xu family visits since the day of her arrest.

At noon on April 21, 2008, Ms. Geng Cuixia in Yancheng City was arrested at home. The police confiscated a computer, a printer, and CDs.

On the morning of November 21, 2007, police from the Zhaoyuan City 610 Office and Canzhuang Township Police Station arrested Ms. Xu Chunxi, over 40 years old, from Jingwangjia Village, Canzhuang Township, Zhaoyuan City. They confiscated a TV set, DVD player, cassette recorder, cash, and other items. She was taken to the Zhaoyuan City 610 Office and is still detained at the City detention center.

On April 16, 2008, Mr. Wang Zhenqi from Dongguan Township, Beipiao City, was reported while telephoning the Chaoyang Supervisory Committee to clarify the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. Policemen from the Beipiao City Police Department and Dongguan Township Police Station arrested him. He is being held in Liangshuihe Detention Center, Beipiao City.

On April 23, 2008, the police arrested Ms. He Xianggu of Changsha City at home.
