A Practitioner in China: Experiences in Clarifying the Truth Over the Telephone

(Clearwisdom.net) For a long time now, I have followed a routine to send forth righteous thoughts whenever I leave home. I clarify the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong to people that I meet on the street, in buses or in the markets, and I keep this in mind all the time. Sometimes, when I forgot to do so, Teacher would give me a hint to remind me or create chances for me to clarify the facts.

One day, I took a bus and sat in the last row. On my right was a man. In the beginning, out of my attachment of fear, I continued to listen to my MP3 because I did not dare to clarify the truth to him. At our stop, when we go off the bus, he suddenly asked me what I was listening to. I promptly gave him some truth clarification materials packed in an envelope and told him that he would understand if he read it carefully.

Through studying the Fa further, I realized that even a telephone call would suppress the evil greatly. Then I picked up my telephone to clarify the facts. I paid only 20 yuan for a telephone card worth 30 yuan, which was quite cheap and handy to use. Before doing so, I prepared telephone numbers, websites and fax numbers for quitting the Chinese communist party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

First of all, I asked Teacher to support me and sent forth righteous thoughts to remove the evil elements of my listeners in other dimensions and disintegrate all evil forces preventing them from understanding the facts. To save them, I regarded them as my good friends and relatives. From the bottom of my heart I hoped that they would understand the truth and everything would be fine with their family.

Next, in a warm and natural tone, I started our conversation by greeting them first, so that I could remove the distance between us and catch their attention.

Good timing is also important. To avoid calling at working hours I usually called in the evenings on weekdays. On weekends, I called after 9 a.m., so that I would not disturb people.

It is even better during festivals, because we can easily start talking by greeting each other. Now, most people have heard or read the facts about Falun Gong. Some people wanted to quit the CCP but failed to find the right person, but some are very scared and refused me with harsh words. However, I was not dismayed because I believed that they might quit later although they refused this time. In these cases, I always leave them the websites and telephone numbers for quitting the CCP.

One day during the Chinese new year, after a busy day of working, I made a call. The person who answered was a middle-aged lady, judging by her voice. "Happy new year! May you and your family have happiness and peace!" She was very happy to hear that and asked me who I was. After introducing myself, I said: "I dialed your number successfully because we have a predestined relationship. Your phone number is just one number different than a relative of mine. I wish kind people like you peace. Do you know Falun Dafa is good? It is taught in more than 80 countries around the world in more than 30 languages, and has received more than 2,000 awards for its principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance." She said: "I didn't know." Then I started to clarify the facts about Falun Gong from the staged self-immolation event. She kept listening and finally agreed to quit the CCP for her and her husband with their nicknames. She sincerely asked me to be mindful of my safety. I was very inspired by this and, in the next hour of calling, successfully got several more people to quit the CCP.

One day, I dialed a number of a man. He had heard and read the facts about Falun Gong before. Then I asked him to quit the CCP by telling him some prophecies about the CCP, but he just refused to quit. I then said to him patiently and frankly: "In these years, there are those who commit fraud for money and material benefits, but is there anyone who will do that for your peace and safety? I don't receive a penny for this. I am calling you from a public telephone to tell you the facts at high risk. Why do I do this? I do this because you are a kind person, but you are a CCP member at the same time. The CCP has done so many bad things that Heaven will destroy it soon, but we cannot perish along with it meaninglessly. When you are unsure, it is better to believe it than disbelieve it for your good. Life is most precious. I will help you quit the CCP, and you do not need to pay anything for that." Hearing him affirm his intention, I made a nickname for him and quit the CCP for him. He thanked me. I said: "You should thank Falun Dafa. It is the Teacher of Falun Dafa that told me to rescue people."

Getting accustomed to truth clarification over the telephone, I started to do this face to face, which requires more courage and wisdom. The precondition is to study the Fa well and send forth righteous thought more. If I could find the right point to begin with, I could get twice the results with half the effort. One day, in a bus, a lady in a nice dress was sitting in front of me. I liked her dress very much. So, naturally, I started to talk to her on the topic of fashion. She enjoyed the conversation and chatted with me happily. I asked her where was her stop, so that I could estimate the time for truth clarification. I said: "You are so kind. May you have peace all your life. " Then I started to clarify the truth to her. Before she got off, she agreed to quit the CCP.

If you are attentive enough, you will always find good things that are worth praising in other people, which could be used as a starting point for truth clarification to make the task easier to accomplish. For instance, a nice hairstyle or an exquisite ring. Some people would kindly point me in the right direction when I asked them. In those cases, I would thank them first and then take the opportunity to clarify the facts. I would do this according to their level of understanding, whether they were in a hurry or whether we went the same way. If I have more time I talk more; if time was limited I would just talk briefly by asking them to quit the CCP directly. Some people in hesitation would nickname themselves and ask me to quit the CCP for them. If they could not make a decision, I would ask them if they want to have some materials and, if they did, I would give them a copy and ask them to distribute it among their friends and relatives.

Teacher said in Zhuan Falun: "The cultivation is up to you, gong is up to the master." Little by little, we all can do it well if we do it seriously and with the desire to do it well. One person quitting the CCP is not a small number and 100 people quitting is not a big number. Skills come up with more practice, and putting it into action once is better than listening to others do it hundreds of times. With a telephone card and a telephone number, a life can be saved. It is just that simple. I do complex things in a simple way and I do simple things repeatedly, and I do these without pursuit but obtain Gong unknowingly.

Teacher said in Zhuan Falun: "The whole process of cultivation is a process of constantly getting rid of human attachments." In truth clarification, I have transcended from a perceptual stage to a rational stage, from not knowing how to cultivate to knowing how to cultivate and from being afraid to call to being able to call with a peaceful mind. The whole process is the process of getting rid of my attachments, solidifying my belief in Teacher and Dafa and returning to my true self.
