Mr. Sun Xi Tortured and Disabled at Tiebei Prison in Changchun City, Jilin Province

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Sun Xi, and I am a Falun Dafa practitioner from Yanji City, Jilin Province. The police arrested me in October 2000 and took me to Tiebei Prison in Changchun. I was tortured there beginning in the spring of 2002.

In May of that year, dozens of Dafa disciples were tortured at Tiebei Prison. First, the prison established a so-called "Transformation Enforcement Office." Then the chief of the office went to Shenyang City in Liaoning Province and to Shandong Province to study how to "transform" Falun Dafa practitioners. In reality, what he studied were the brutal methods used to torture practitioners.

After he returned from this training, he held a meeting with the entire staff and ordered the guards to "transform" every Falun Gong practitioner in the prison. The guards were under intense pressure to achieve a 100 percent success rate within a specific time using any method at their disposal. All kinds of abuses immediately began in each ward.

I was held in the No. 3 Subgroup, No. 3 Ward (Chengxing Ward). On the night of September 24, 2002, one of the guards seized me and would not allow me to sleep. He then took me to the guards' office, where several directors were waiting, including Ward Director Liu Zhanzhong (male), a vicious individual in charge of transforming Dafa disciples. Also present were the Deputy Ward Director Han Kewei, Prison Factory Director Zhong (first name unknown), and Gao Hong (all males).

These directors took turns insulting Dafa. While they were doing this, Zhong ordered me to stand at attention, but I did not cooperate. Zhong and Gao then beat me brutally, punching and kicking me and hitting me in face. After they had beaten me for a half hour, they put me in a metal drum and kept me there until mealtime. They later returned me to the drum, which they kept in the guards' office. During the day, Han was on duty and played videos that insulted Dafa. I was not allowed to sleep or drink. When I became sleepy, they used an iron baton to band on the drum. This put me in shock, and I almost fainted. This torture lasted almost 100 hours. They did not stop until I lost consciousness.

The second round of torture began on January 10, 2003. It took place after the guards learned that officials from the office of forced labor administration would come to check the status of their "transformation" rate. On the night of January 10, I was not allowed to stop work or sleep. A group of six male criminal inmates, led by Wang Xiwu, was ordered to torture me. First, they drew a circle on the floor and made me stand in the middle. If I moved, they would beat me. Then, although it was wintertime, they made me stand outside in the cold for an entire day and night. On the second night, they beat me again. Inmates Yu Jingyu, Sun Yong, and Wang Yang beat me without let up for an hour and a half. They broke one of my ribs in the process, but they still did not stop. They then handed me over to Wang Xiwu, Li Zhijun, and Wang Dexin, who continued the torture.

Wang Xiwu and Wang Dexin pushed me onto a table. Li hit me brutally all over with a bricklayer's hammer wrapped in rubber. They hit me so much that I almost died. They also beat me savagely, specifically targeting my waist and my feet. After they had beaten me for two more hours, they pushed me to the floor and began punching and kicking me. My internal organs were so badly injured that I was unable to have a bowel movement for eight days. I developed intestinal adhesions and almost lost my life.

Because of this torture, the muscles in my feet have atrophied, and it is extremely difficult for me to walk. I still have not recovered; I am almost paralyzed.

This is only the tip of the iceberg on how the guards at Tiebei Prison tortured Dafa disciples. Let us work together, hand-in-hand, to stop the brutal persecution of good people who believe in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance."
