Additional Persecution News from China - May 21, 2008 (63 Reports)
(Clearwisdom.net) Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 14 cities or
counties in 47 provinces. Sixty-seven Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to
brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least 65 practitioners were
arrested. 1. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Thirty Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced
to Forced Labor About 30 practitioners held in the Youshan Detention Center in Qianguo
County, Songyuan City, were sentenced to forced labor in May 2008. They have
been put in Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City and in Jiutai
Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province. 2. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Several Practitioners Arrested Personnel from the Baoji City 610 Office arrested several
practitioners including Ms. Chai Xiufang, Ms. Wang Jiangmei, Ms. Zhao Rong, and
Mr. Duan Baojun. The practitioners are being held in the Fenghuang Hotel in
Baoji City. Several practitioners' homes were ransacked. Police transferred several practitioners to an unknown location on May 8,
2008. Mr. Duan has since been put into the city's Jintai Detention Center. 3. [Beijing] Many Practitioners Being Held in the Shunyi District Detention
Center Many practitioners are presently being held in the Shunyi District Detention
Center. They are: Ms. Zhao Suxia, Mr. Liu Shuchen, Ms. Cai Fengxia, Ms. Zhang
Yufeng, Mr. Zhu Jinzhong, Mr. Wu Ming, Mr. Li Yujiang, Mr. Li Zhijun, Ms. Xu
Jingzhi, Ms. Wan Daping, Ms. Yang Xiuzhi, Ms. Zhang Xiulan, Mr. Yang Jinghui,
Ms. Zhu Shuqin, Ms. Li Lingxia, and Ms. Xu Junzhi. Among them, Mr. Liu Shuchen,
Ms. Cai Fengxia, Ms. Zhang Yufeng, Mr. Wu Ming, Ms. Wan Daping, Ms. Zhang Xiulan,
and two gentlemen have been sentenced to forced labor. 4. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Yan, Ms. Rong and Ms. Wei Sufen
Arrested Personnel from the Yingze District Police Department in Taiyuan City arrested
Ms. Li Yan, Ms. Rong, and Ms. Wei Sufen between May 16 and May 20, 2008. 5. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Mr. Pu Hongpei and Mr. Pang Kun Arrested Mr. Pu Hongpei from Liuhe County, Tonghua City was arrested before May 1,
2008. Mr. Pang Kun was arrested on May 14, 2008. Liuhe County Police Department Deputy Chief's Office: 86-435-7238858,
86-435-7212836 6. [Shandong Province] The Persecution of an Eighty-Year-Old Woman Police ransacked an 80-year-old practitioner's home several times last year.
They often harassed her, fined her, and put her into a brainwashing center
twice. 7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Shujun Sentenced to Forced Labor Ms. Li Shujun, 52 years old, lives in Lingshui Town, the Ganjingzi District,
Dalian City. Personnel from the Daheishi Police Station arrested her and put her
in the Yaojia Detention Center on April 3, 2008. The police later sent her to
Masanjia Forced Labor Camp for a one-and-a-half-year term starting on May 5,
2008. 8. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Mr. Guo Yanxiang Harassed Five officers from the Shanghewan Town Police Station in Jiutai City broke
into Mr. Guo Yanxiang's home in Shanghewan Town at 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2008.
They did not show any warrant and ransacked his house. They found nothing
related to Falun Gong, but confiscated his satellite dish and a receiver. 9. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yu You from the Beixing Farm Was
Followed and Harassed on May 17, 2008 Wang Guosheng: 86-13946574898, 86-464-8861007 10. [Shaanxi Province] Several Practitioners Arrested in the Ankang District Ms. Wu Changchun, in her 40s, lives in Hanyin County, Shaanxi Province. She
had printed Falun Gong truth clarification phrases on paper money
and distributed it. Later on, personnel from the local 610 Office and from the
Domestic Security Division arrested her on April 18, 2008. Her whereabouts are
unknown. Police ransacked the home of 70-year-old Ms. Liu Yuwen, a retired doctor from
Ankang City Hospital, at 6:30 a.m. on April 23, 2008. They confiscated more than
30 Falun Gong books and an MP3 player. Ms. Liu has been sentenced to one year of
forced labor. Ms. Cao Ping and Ms. Kan Guangying were arrested. Deng Lulu, Ankang City Hanbin Police Station: 86-13709153688 11. [Beijing] Ms. Li Deping Arrested Fifty-three-year-old Ms. Li Deping from the Chaoyang District was arrested on
May 9, 2008. 12. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Police Arrested Ms. Bai Caiping at
Noon on Her Way Home on May 20, 2008 13. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] A Practitioner from Ziqiang Street,
the Qiaoxi District Arrested and His/Her Home Ransacked 14. [Huangguang City, Hubei Province] Several Practitioners Harassed Police harassed several practitioners at Longganhu Farm, Huanggang City, in
early May 2008. Several policemen broke into Ms. Yan Mingxia's home and
confiscated some Falun Gong materials. Ms. Yan successfully escaped. They then
broke into Ms. Yan's sister's electronics equipment shop and confiscated 10
satellite dishes. 15. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hu Yuyuan Tortured to the Point of
a Mental-Breakdown in the Jinzhou City No. 1 Detention Center 16. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Hua Chen Arrested Personnel from the Dongjiao Police Station in the Xinhua Police Department
broke into Mr. Hua Chen's home in Shijiazhuang City on the night of May 16,
2008. They confiscated all Dafa books and materials. His daughter's computer was
also taken. Mr. Hua is being held in the city's Dongfeng Street Detention
Center. 17. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Arrested Personnel from the Benxi City Police Department arrested several
practitioners on the night of April 23, 2008 in the pretext of the Olympic
Games. They damaged 20 Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials production sites,
worth more than 200,000 yuan. Most practitioners arrested were put
into a local detention center. 18. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Shuhong and Ms. Song Shuzhen
Arrested Personnel from the Bianfang Police Station arrested Ms. Wang Shuhong and Ms.
Song Shuzhen from the Bayuquan District, Yingkou City on May 18, 2008. They are
being held in the district's No.3 Detention Center. 19. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Police Arrested Ms. Yuan Junlan and Mr. Yu
Shanjun from Their Homes 20. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yuan Qiuju and Ms. Liu Aihua Arrested
Again Several policemen from Guizhou City broke into Ms. Liu Aihua's home on May
18, 2008. They found some Falun Gong materials and then arrested her. Ms. Liu is
being held in the Shaoyang City No. 2 Detention Center. Ms. Liu had been persecuted several times already and had been sentenced to
one year of forced labor. Her bedridden husband needs her care. Ms. Yuan Qiuju was also arrested. 21. [Longyan City, Fujian Province] Ms. Cai Yuqin Arrested and Home Ransacked 22. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Lianke, a Teacher from the Liaohe Oil Field
No. 1 High School, Was Arrested from His Office on May 20, 2008 23. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Ms. Mei Lian Sentenced to Forced Labor Personnel from the Xuchang Police Department broke into Ms. Mei Lian's home
in May 2008. They confiscated a copier and arrested Ms. Mei and her husband and
put the couple into the city's Liyuan Detention Center. Ms. Mei was sentenced to
one and a half years of forced labor two weeks later. She is being held in
Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City. 24. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Jin Yanjie and Ms. Bao Lixia
Arrested Mr. Jin Yanjie and Ms. Bao Lixia from Jiamusi City were arrested on May 19,
2008 when explaining the truth about Falun Gong. They are being held in the
city's detention center. Gao Hongwei, Anti-Falun Gong Group: 86-454-8298120, 86-454-8647156,
86-13903681156 25. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Police Arrest Ms. Ji Weihong Ms. Ji Weihong is employed at the Wangou Town Mine in the Jiangyuan District,
Baishan City. Personnel from the Wangou Town Police Department arrested Ms. Ji
at 3:00 p.m. on May 20, 2008. They confiscated many Falun Gong books. 26. [Zhaozhou County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Dechen Arrested Personnel from the Yongle Police Station arrested Mr. Li Dechen from Yongle
Township, Zhaozhou County, on May 16, 2008. He is being held in the county's
detention center. 27. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Arrested Yugangzi Village Party Secretary Li Bin colluded with personnel from the
Xinxing Police Station, Dawa County, Panjin City. They broke into the homes of
Mr. Wang Guojun, Ms. Wang Guohui, and Ms. Wang Guoyan at 5:00 a.m. on May 20,
2008. They confiscated some Dafa books and Falun Gong truth-clarifying
materials, one picture of Master, a printer, a satellite dish, a receiver and
some other items. The practitioners are being held in Xinxing Police Station. Wu Jisheng, Xinxing Police Station chief: 86-427-6811110 28. [Songyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. He Xiuzhen Arrested Personnel from the Fanrong Police Station in Songyuan City arrested Ms. He
Xiuzhen from her home on May 12, 2008, though they found nothing related to
Falun Gong. 29. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners' Homes Ransacked Personnel from the Yinan County 610 Office went to practitioners' homes in
Longjiaozhuangzi Village and Dougou Village in Puwang Township, Yinan County, on
May 12, 2008. They confiscated several practitioners' Falun Gong books and
truth-clarifying materials. Li Wei, Niuwangmiao Village Party Secretary, Mamuchi Township, Yinan County:
86-13953956939 30. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Hongmei Arrested Ms. Du Hongmei from Yujiazhuang Village, Yaogezhuang Town, Gaomi City, was
arrested from her home at 3:40 p.m. on May 21, 2008. Her computer was
confiscated. A gentleman practitioner was also arrested at the same time. 31. [Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Jinghua Held at the Shijiazhuang City No. 2
Prison Ms. Zhou Jinghua from the Xinhua District in Shijiazhuang City was arrested
from her home on the morning of April 15, 2008. The police confiscated Ms.
Zhou's son's computer and put her in the Shijiazhuang City No. 2 Prison. Zhang Guojun, Hebei Province 610 Office head: 86-311-87906310 (Office),
86-311-87906898 (Home) 32. [Wulumuqi City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] About 100 Practitioners Being
Held at a Xiaocaohu Forced Labor Farm 33. [Guangzi Autonomous Region] Hepu Court Agents Plan to Sentence Mr. Huang
Junhui on May 23, 2008 34. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] A Practitioner Held in the Chengzhong
Police Station Personnel from the Yingcheng City Chengzhong Police Station arrested a
practitioner on May 12, 2008. They put this person in the city's No. 2 Detention
Center and the deputy chief there abused the practitioner. Yu Zhikun, No.2 Detention Center deputy chief: 86-13707293469 (Cell),
86-712-3228056 (Home) 35. [Jingchuan County, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhao Ya Arrested Fifty-seven-year-old Mr. Zhao Ya is a retired employee from the Jingchuan
County Food Bureau. He was arrested for explaining the facts about Falun Gong on
April 2, 2008. Personnel from the Jingchuan County Police Department ransacked
his home and put him in the county's detention center. 36. [Huazhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Wei Arrested Personnel from the Huazhou City 610 Office, from the Political and Judiciary
Committee, and from the police department arrested Mr. Huang Wei on May 8, 2008.
He is being held in the city's brainwashing center. 37. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhou Shenghuan Arrested Mr. Zhou Shenghuan is a model teacher in the Dong'an No.2 Middle School in
Gaozhou City. Police arrested Mr. Zhou and put him into the city's detention
center. Ever since his arrest, his family has been monitored and often
threatened. Cai Jinhua, Dong'an Police Station: 86-668-6260779 38. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Jinhua Arrested Mr. Wang Jinhua, 58 years old, is a retired primary school teacher in
Pingyuan County. Police had attempted to arrest him in the summer of 2006. He
chose to live away from home to avoid the persecution. In 2008 Mr. Wang and his wife went to see their son in Jinan City, where he
worked as a tricycle taxi driver. He was reading Hong Yin as
he was waiting for customers. Three policemen arrested him at about 11:00 a.m.
on May 20, 2008. His temporary home was ransacked, and he is being held in
Dezhou Detention Center. 39. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Yubin Arrested Seven policemen from Shewobo Town, Qixia City, went to Anzikuang Village and
arrested Mr. Sun Yubin from his home on May 19, 2008. They confiscated a TV,
DVD, some Falun Gong books, and a picture of Master. Mr. Sun is presently being
held in a detention center. 40. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Personnel from the Xishan Police
Station Arrest Four Practitioners Personnel from the Xishan Police Station in Mianyang City arrested Ms. Zhen
Shufang, Ms. Zhen Shurong, Ms. Yuan Xiuzhen, and Ms. Li at 8:00 p.m. on May 19,
2008. The arrests happened when the four were explaining the facts about Falun
Gong to Beichuan and Wenchuan earthquake victims in the 404 Hospital. 41. [Shanghai] Ms. Gu Baoqun Arrested in the Chuansha District on May 16,
2008 42. [Qi County, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Yanbin Arrested Mr. Zhang Yanbin, his non-practitioner son, and his non-practitioner
son-in-law drove to Yongnian County to order some goods on April 1, 2008. On
their way home, police along the No. 106 Highway searched their vehicle and
found some Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. The police then arrested them
and put them in the Guantao County Detention Center. Their vehicle was
confiscated. Police extorted 30,000 yuan from Mr. Zhang's son and son-in-law.
Mr. Zhang is still in the detention center. 43. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Rulan from the Hexi District Arrested from Her Home
May 20, 2008 44. [Zining County, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Yao Fengjuan and Her
Non-practitioner Husband Arrested on May 19, 2008 45. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liu Yingxu and Mr. Yan Xiaoping
Arrested Eight officers from the Yingkou Police Station in Chengdu City broke into a
house and arrested Mr. Liu Yingxu and Mr. Yan Xiaoping on the night of November
14, 2007. Mr. Liu and Mr. Yan are from Deyang City and used to work for the Dongfang
Steamship Company and the Chinese No. 2 Industrial Company, respectively. Both
lost their jobs and were sentenced to forced labor twice. Their two laptop
computers, some cash, two cell phones, and a VCD player were confiscated. Police
took them to the Chadianzi Brainwashing Center and the Xinjin Brainwashing
Center. Mr. Yan has been sent to the Chengdu City Detention Center. Liang, Jinniu District Police Department, Chengdu City: 86-28-86406240 46. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Six Practitioners Arrested from Their
Homes Police arrested six practitioners from their homes in Nantunji Township,
Dongfeng County, and put them in the county's detention center on May 17, 2008.
They were: Ms. Wu Chunfeng and Mr. Wang Laosan from Yaobao Village, one from
Yulin Village, one from Wanxing Village, and Mr. Zhao Yongkai and his wife. 47. [Chongqing] Two Practitioners Arrested Personnel from the Jingang Police Station arrested Ms. Luo Zehui and Ms. Luo
Taiqing from Shansheng Township, Jingang Town, the Jiangjin District, on the
morning of May 13, 2008. The police ransacked Ms. Luo Taiqing's home at 12:00
a.m. and confiscated two copies of Zhuan Falun, an MP3 player, and some
Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. Personnel from the Jiangjin District
Police Department ransacked Ms. Luo Zehui's home on the morning of May 14, 2008.
They confiscated all Falun Gong books, a computer, a printer, a small speaker,
an MP3 player, and a DVD player. Mr. Jiang Xiqing, Ms. Luo's husband, was also
arrested. The couple is being held in the Langshan Detention Center. 48. [Huadian City, Jilin Province] Personnel from the Minghua Police Station
Arrested Ms. Du Xiuxia on May 14, 2008 49. [Mei County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhu Xiansheng's Wife, Ms. Li Xiufang,
and His Daughter Were Arrested on May 16, 2008 50. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhan Shuhong Arrested 51. [Yi County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Deqian Arrested Personnel from the Yi County Police Department, from the Domestic Security
Division, and from the Longmen Township Police Station arrested Mr. Wang Deqian
on March 12, 2008. Mr. Wang has been held in the county's detention center. He
went on several hunger strikes and is extremely weak. He is experiencing
tremendous physical and mental trauma. Yi County Police Department: 86-312-8225111 52. [Guangdong Province] Mr. Wei Yingxin's Mother Is Dying, But a Request to
Allow Him to See Her One Last Time Was Denied Mr. Wei Yingxin's 96-year-old mother was very depressed because she could not
see her son for a long time. She was hospitalized on March 1, 2008. Her doctor
issued a notice about her terminal condition. Mr. Wei's family went t Yangjiang
Prison in Guangdong Province on March 10, 2008, where Mr. Wei was held. They
asked the prison authorities to allow Mr. Wei to see his mother, but the request
was denied. 53. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Qiping Arrested Police arrested Mr. Wang Qiping living in the Nangang District on the
afternoon of May 20, 2008. His computer was confiscated. 54. [Rushan City, Shandong Province] The Persecution of Ms. Li Shumin Ms. Li Shumin from Dagushan Town, Rushan City, was arrested on the afternoon
of May 14, 2008. She is being held in a detention center. 55. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xiu Yanpeng Transferred to Another
Detention Center Three officers from the Harbor Defense Police Station in Penglai City broke
into Ms. Xiu Yanpeng's home on May 15, 2008. They transferred her to the city's
detention center on May 21, 2008. 56. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Danyu Arrested Ms. Liu Danyu from the Chongwen District, Beijing, was arrested on May 19,
2008. Ms. Liu has a daughter in the first grade. 57. [Tianjin] Three Practitioners Arrested Ms. Gao Jianling, Ms. Li Jing, and Ms. Lu Shuying were arrested in Wuqing
County and are being held in the Yangcun Detention Center. 58. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Lianhong from the Hexi District Was Arrested from Her
Home on the Morning of May 20, 2008 59. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Police Arrest Mr. Li Jingke and Ms. Zhao
Ying Police arrested Mr. Li Jingke and Ms. Zhao Ying from Luoyang City on the
afternoon of May 15, 2008. Mr. Li is being held in the Mangshan Detention Center
in Luoyang City. Ms. Zhao's whereabouts are unknown. 60. [Xinmin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Min Arrested Ms. Zhao Min is presently being held in the Hailar Railway Police Station and
has been sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. She has high blood
pressure and several other heart ailments. Hailar Railway Police Station: 86-470-2223788, 86-470-2226528 61. [Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Huiling's Home Ransacked Personnel from the Shuguang Oil Extraction Factory's Police Station broke
into Ms. Li Huiling's rented house in the Liaohe Oil Field on the morning of May
20, 2008. Police confiscated a computer, a printer, a picture of Master and
several Falun Gong books. Ms. Li is living away from home now. 62. [Qianjiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Deqing and Ms. Zheng Dingzhi
Arrested on the Morning of May 12, 2008 63. [Beijing] Two Practitioners Arrested Personnel from the Xitiangezhuang Town Police Station arrested Mr. Zheng
Yunjing from Miyun County, Beijin,g on the morning of May 20, 2008. The police
also arrested Ms. Zhang Cuiqin from her home. The two practitioners' whereabouts
