Enumerating Attachments Is Not the Same As Cultivating

(Clearwisdom.net) From reading experience sharing articles on the Clearwisdom website, I have noticed that some practitioners enumerate their human attachments. One might say, "I still have attachments to competitiveness, jealousy and laziness." Another one would say, "I still have very strong attachments to zealotry, competitiveness and doing things, etc." Every time I read similar things, I always have an indescribable feeling in my heart. It's good that fellow practitioners are looking inward actively and treating cultivation seriously. However, does simply enumerating those human notions over and over replace our cultivation? No, because you aren't touching the roots of those notions. We need to sincerely use our righteous thoughts and take action to eliminate those bad notions. If we only habitually enumerate them, it cannot achieve the goal of getting rid of them. Just a thought. It would be better if we could pay attention to this point.
