(Clearwisdom.net) After the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, and before Master made any statement, a large number of practitioners risked their lives to go to Tiananmen Square to protect and validate Dafa in various forms. Master affirmed the greatness of these practitioners repeatedly in subsequent lectures.
However, I have noticed that a small number of fellow practitioners, after enduring the persecution--for example, being locked in a detention center, being fined, or suffering other forms of persecution--have become complacent. They haven't paid attention to their improvement and to calmly studying the Fa in the process of cultivating in Fa-rectification. They think that they have done enough and have contributed enough to Dafa and that what remains to be done is for those who have not yet stepped forward. Some practitioners have developed fear and no longer dare to do Fa validation and truth clarification work. They don't treat themselves as a particle of Dafa and play their proper role in this once-in-an-eon Fa-rectification cultivation. In fact, this state of affairs exists because they did not have a solid foundation of calm Fa study and did not comprehend Master's new articles well and, therefore, they have not understood the mission of saving people entrusted to Dafa disciples in the Fa-rectification period.
Dafa practitioners cultivating in this Fa-rectification period is not only for our own improvement and benefit, but also to fulfill our promises of the remote past and offer salvation to sentient beings during the period when Master is rectifying the Fa. This cannot possibly be done by being locked in a labor camp or jail, or by being subjected to brutal persecution. We are Dafa practitioners blessed with the Truth. We cannot, consciously or subconsciously, treat ourselves as a group of everyday people being persecuted. Our relationship with Dafa is not one of trade in value because we cannot even repay a tiny part of what Dafa has given us even if we exhaust all we have.
Very little remains of the evils to be eliminated, and the sentient beings are more and more aware of their wish to be saved. In distributing truth-clarification materials, I have realized that things go smoothly if one does it with a pure heart and if one sends forth righteous thoughts beforehand. The evils automatically perish wherever you go. Even if you do run into someone who may cause trouble, he or she will pass by as if they did not see you. When I handed out flyers to people, they would almost always take one or even ask for an extra copy if I clarified the truth with compassion and in a kind tone, showing that we were doing this for their good, even if they might not have wanted to take it at first or if they had a bad attitude initially. In that moment, I can feel the power of Master and Dafa. If we do it with our hearts, Master will save them once their good thoughts emerge.
