Instead of Being Released After Serving 3 Year Prison Term, Practitioner is Transferred to Brainwashing Center

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Shang Yuping, a resident of Zizhi street in Qianjin District of Jianghan, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, was detained several times because she practices Falun Dafa. In April 2005, she was illegally sentenced to prison for three years. On April 6, 2008, when she was scheduled to be released, authorities sent her to Erdaopeng brainwashing center in Jianghan District instead of releasing her.

In 2000, before the Chinese new year, Shang Yuping was taken away by policemen from Qianjin Street Police Station. They took her to Erdaopeng brainwashing center and detained her for over one year. She was then sent to Wuhan No.1 Women's Detention Center. She was ultimately sentenced to one year in Wuhan Hewan Forced Labor Camp. She was released in the summer of 2002.

In June 2004, she was reported while clarifying the truth on a bus. She was arrested and taken to Etouwan brainwashing center in Qiaoshi District. To avoid further harassment and persecution, she did not return home after her release. Nevertheless, staff from the 610 Office continued to harass her family.

In April 2005, she and five other practitioners were found producing Falun Gong material. They were arrested by police from the 610 Office of Wuhan City Public Security Bureau, Qiaokou District Branch. They were sent to Wuhan No. 1 Women's Detention Center. Ms. Shang Yuping was sentenced to three years in Wuhan Women's Prison.

Ms. Shang Yuping's three year sentence was over on April 6, 2008. Her husband and friends went to Wuhan Women's Prison to pick her up. However, instead of being released, Ms. Shang was sent directly to Jianghan District Erdaopen brainwashing center. This was done at the order of Jianghan District 610 Office, Qianjin Street Police Station, Qianjin Street Administration Office, and the Community Committee of Zizhi Street.

Authorities Responsible:

Secretary of Chinese Communist Party of Qianjin District: Mr. Gong

The director of Qianjin District Committee:

Head of Jianghan District 610 office: Hu Jiaxiang
