Chongqing Practitioner Ms. Wang Yan Persecuted
(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Yan, 33, a Falun Gong practitioner from
Chongqing, was a teacher at Yubei District Experimental Junior High School in
Chongqing City. She began practicing Falun Gong in October 1996. Ms. Wang Yan studies the Fa diligently and works hard, and she
has been recognized as a good teacher. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
began its persecution of Falun Gong, she has been subjected to brutal torture. The CCP set up a brainwashing center in Yubei District in July 2000. CCP
officers found out that Ms. Wang had delivered Teacher's recent articles to
fellow practitioners, so she was illegally arrested and taken to
Shuangfeng Police Station and persecuted for two days. The officers demanded to
know where the articles came from, but Ms. Wang refused to tell them. Later,
they took her to a brainwashing center for 15 days and then she was taken to a
detention facility in Yubei District. In late December 2000, Ms. Wang Yan was "illegally sentenced" to
four years by Yubei District Court because she and other practitioners made and
hung truth-clarifying banners. In Yubei District Detention Center,
Ms. Wang Yan was ordered to do hard labor, making special medical bags. During
April 2001, Ms. Wang was forced to wear heavy shackles for one month because she
did the Falun Gong exercises. In October, a guard tortured her for a week by
handcuffing her with one leg between her arms. Later, Supervisor Zhang used a
special small-sized handcuff to handcuff her for a month. It inconvenienced Ms.
Wang in her daily life. Later, Ms. Wang Yan caught a heavy cold and became very
weak, but because she firmly believed in the Fa, this illness disappeared.
Later, an older woman told the deputy director that Ms. Wang's health was poor,
so the guard took off the handcuffs. Ms. Wang later realized that practicing
Falun Dafa and clarifying the truth are not crimes. She appealed for justice to
the court, but the CCP officers refused her appeal. In early 2002, Ms. Wang and other practitioners were sent to Yongchuan
Women's Prison. In the prison, inmates were ordered to monitor her around the
clock, and she was not allowed to talk with others. Because she helped to
deliver Teacher's recent articles to a new practitioner, her luggage was
illegally searched and then Officer Li Xiaouan gave Ms. Wang a warning. About
three months later, Ms. Wang was assinged to the first prisoners' team. She was
forced to do heavy labor for over ten hours a day. Due to this, Ms. Wang barely
had time to rest. In May 2002, CCP officers slandered Falun Gong at a meeting, but
practitioners who were in the meeting shouted, "Falun Dafa is good."
The practitioners were then beaten and scolded, and some of them were locked up
in small cells. Ms. Wang demanded to be released but the police wanted her to
admit in front of all the prisoners that she was wrong. She refused. The
officers forced her to wear the prisoner uniform and ordered her to admit she
was a prisoner or she would not be allowed to use the toilet or visit with
family members. Later, Ms. Wang began a hunger strike to protest this treatment.
The officers still ordered her to clean the stairs of the ward. After a few
days, Ms. Wang protested this treatment. Later, she was ordered to stand in
front of a wall until 11:00 p.m. or midnight, when other prisoners returned from
working. Ms. Wang's legs were swollen due to the prolonged torture. A prisoner
who said something in Ms. Wang's defense received a warning from the guard. Later, the prisoners took Ms. Wang to a hospital. While in the hospital, Ms.
Wang's parents, relatives, and a fellow practitioner from Chongqing went to see
her. But the officers refused to allow them to see her. Then Ms. Wang underwent
brainwashing. Her mind and body suffered serious harm. The CCP persecution of Ms. Wang Yan has caused her family great suffering and
pain. In September 2004, personnel from Yubei District 610 Office, the
Shuangfeng Police Station and a vice-chancellor of the school took her home from
the prison. She was dismissed from her job. She later left home to avoid further
persecution. The CCP officers did not give Ms. Wang an ID card. It is very
difficult for Ms. Wang to live or find a new job without an ID card. We ask people to pay attention to Ms. Wang's plight. Please help us to stop
this persecution.
