Taiwan: The Human Rights Torch Relay Comes to Chiayi (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The Human Right Torch Relay (HRTR), organized by the
Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG), came to Chiayi,
Taiwan on June 8. Chang Yuanhou, city government official and representative of
the mayor, carried the torch Legislative Member Chiang Yihsiong is lighting the torch City council member Cai Yongchuan said the Chinese Communist

Cai Wenhsu and Cai Yongchuan, human rights lawyer Yang Chiongya, and many local
citizens attended the HRTR ceremony in Chungcheng Park. Chang Yuanhou, the city
government official and representative of the mayor, carried the torch. Legislative Member Chiang Yihsiong called upon people to help stop the
persecution against Falun Gong. City council member Cai Wenhsu and Cai Yongchuan
expressed that human rights have universal value. They pointed out that if more
people and countries would exert pressure on the Chinese government, then the
human rights situation in China would improve. They called upon people to take
the occasion of the Human Rights Torch Relay to do this. Legislative Member Cai Tongrong said the HRTR is very meaningful. He passed
the torch to the torch relay running team, consisting of local citizens, who
carried the torch around the city.
