Sweden: Documentary Exposing the Persecution of Falun Gong Broadcast on Local TV
(Clearwisdom.net) The documentary "Beyond the Red Wall" was
broadcast on May 29-30 on national television in Sweden, and repeated twice on
June 1, on Channel 8. The film addresses the Chinese government's unlawful persecution of Falun
Gong and the horrible facts regarding the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)
harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and selling them to
foreign tourists for profit. In the film, David Kilgour, the author of a report on the organ harvesting,
is interviewed. He provides evidence which exposes, in his words, a "new
type of evil in the world." Another interviewee was Kunlun Zhang, a
Canadian citizen and retired university professor at McGill University. He
talked about his three years of suffering in labor camps merely for his belief
in Falun Gong. A computer designer, Mr. A. Eriksson said that he was shocked after watching
the film, stating that the facts of the persecution are unimaginable. "Beyond the Red Wall" is a documentary produced by Canadian film
director Peter Rowe. It was first broadcast by the Canadian Broadcasting
Corporation (CBC) on November 20, 2007. The documentary was originally scheduled
to air on November 6, but due to pressure from the Chinese Embassy in Canada,
CBC suddenly canceled the airing, substituting another program. This was later
exposed by the Canadian media, and the subject of foreign influence intending to
interfere with Canadian press freedom caused intense responses from all levels
of society. Three days later, CBC announced a new broadcast time, and the film
eventually aired on November 20.
