The State Security Department Detains Ms. Si Miao, Sister of a U.S. Citizen

(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Si Miao, 36, is a practitioner from Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. She is an accountant at the Hebei Province Science Academy Energy Research Institute. Agents of the State Security Department arrested Ms. Si on April 28, 2008.

In 1999, after the persecution of Falun Gong began, Ms. Si learned about Falun Gong from her brother, a U.S. citizen living in Los Angeles. Since then, she has been practicing at her home. In recent months, the overseas practitioners have organized many truth-clarification activities, including the Divine Performing Arts world tour. Since Mr. Si Yang, a practitioner from Los Angeles, actively participates in Falun Gong activities, the State Security agents in China arrested his relatives in China under the order of the Chinese Consulate and State Security agents overseas, in order to threaten and force him to stop his participation in truth-clarification activities.

On April 22, 2008, over ten State Security agents ransacked the home of his parents in Shijiazhuang City. They arrested his father Mr. Si Lin, and at about the same time, they arrested Ms. Si Miao at her workplace. After the interrogation, they released Mr. Si Lin but they continue to monitor him. Ms. Si Miao was transferred to a labor camp after 30 days of detention. Her family has not been allowed to visit her. There have been no details about her treatment except that she was deprived of sleep during interrogation.
