Take the Fa as Teacher, Do Not Wait For or Depend on Others

(Clearwisdom.net) Before October 2007, practitioners in Zhuozhou and the surrounding areas felt that Fa-validation in the Zhuozhou area was well done.

Certainly, many practitioners in the Zhuozhou area stepped forward to validate the Fa. Many things progressed well. Yet the police still raped a practitioner in Zhuozhou (refer to http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2006/4/25/72396.html) shocking people around the globe. The incident became a focus of attention in worldwide efforts to bring the persecution to stop. One policeman said he received dozens of phone calls from practitioners outside China at his station in just one day. One can imagine the huge amount of evil eliminated in the Zhuozhou area. The powerful efforts led the Fa-validating activities in the Zhuozhou area forward. However, in the meantime, some unresolved issues among local practitioners remained.

The night of October 12, 2007, key coordinators in the Zhuozhou area were arrested, with nearly no exception. A few other practitioners were also arrested during the following days. Fa validating in the Zhuozhou area suffered a huge setback.

Authorities had planned their persecution plot for a while. They tapped telephones and monitored the movements of several practitioners, especially the coordinators in the Zhuozhou area. The practitioners were unaware of the situation. The old forces had suppressed practitioners' minds, minds that were supposed to be clear.

Following the arrests, some practitioners undertook some efforts to rescue those arrested, while others waited for them to get out by themselves. However, after a long time, we found out that they sentenced to prison terms. At present, the Fa-validating efforts and many practitioners' cultivation circumstances are not good. We need a big breakthrough to find our loopholes and become aware of the issues that have not been corrected in the Fa-validation process. That is what we must do.

1. About Fa Study

Master told us,

"They must study the Fa well and take Fa-study seriously." "That is because the Fa is the foundation; it is what's fundamental for Dafa disciples; it is what ensures everything; and it is the avenue by which a human being journeys toward godhood. Thus I would like to take the opportunity of this Fa conference in Australia to tell all Dafa disciples around the world: Whether you are a new or veteran student, all the same you must not neglect Fa-study on account of being busy." ("To the Australia Fa Conference")

Master emphasized in many lectures that we must study the Fa more, study the Fa well. I feel that the loopholes Zhuozhou practitioners are experiencing is primarily a reflection of their lack of Fa study.

For example: Many practitioners at a local experience-sharing meeting discussed a particular woman practitioner's arrest. They felt puzzled, thought she had cultivated quite well, and how could she run into this trouble? She was a key coordinator for a large area. All the practitioners in that location agreed that she did fairly well. When everyone was at a loss as to finding the cause, one practitioner spoke up and said she didn't do well with Fa-study.

When I mentioned this to another practitioner who communicated more with her, he said, "That is true! She sometimes didn't study the Fa for several days, and sometimes I didn't either!" On a different occasion I had a contact with another practitioner. He told me that he hurt his hands while posting the facts-clarifying materials at night. I asked him about his Fa-study. He said he had not studied the Fa for quite a long time. Recently, when I contacted a few Zhouzhou practitioners, some had cultivated fairly well, but their present Fa-study is also relatively poor.

It is my opinion that for a local area's Fa validation process to move forward healthily and steadily, practitioners there should first ascertain each other's regular Fa-study, how they compare in the study and in reciting the Fa. From now on our Zhuozhou area practitioners should do more sharing about our Fa-study and reciting the Fa and be informed of each other's progress. This would lead us do well in our Fa-validation process.

2. About doing things and cultivating

Master said, "The entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments." (Zhuan Falun)

To cultivate one's mind, looking inward when one runs into conflicts, finding one's faults and getting rid of them is part of the cultivation process - from the very first day to the very last day. When we encounter new conflicts we need to look inward again and to rid ourselves of the faults once more. This is what we need to pay most attention to - to assure we do well on the cultivation path. But, quite a few practitioners in the Zhuozhou area actually manifest little of this outstanding feature of a Dafa practitioner.

Our area often organized a local Fa conference which practitioners from other areas occasionally attended. Everyone basically only told how they were doing, cited some examples in which a practitioner did well, and also told how he did. It is somewhat like an ordinary people's work report meeting. It is rare to hear someone mention how to look inward, to get rid of faults, and how to improve xinxing.

It certainly doesn't mean that one can't let others know the process. I mean, the emphasis should be on the cultivation of heart and mind. When in contact with other practitioners, it is rare to hear them sharing about cultivating their hearts and minds.

3. Waiting for and depending on others vs. stepping forward on one's own to validate the Fa

After the arrests in October 12 occurred, many practitioners waited for those arrested practitioners to get out, to lead everyone to do Fa-validation things. Actually, this notion of waiting and depending on others is quite serious in those practitioners. I believe that it became the element the old forces used to block the imprisoned practitioners from getting out. Master wants Dafa disciples to walk on their own, to validate the Fa; therefore this kind of notion [depending on others to make the first move] must be gotten rid of.

What I stated above are some superficial understandings. I mentioned this not to point at which coordinator had some issues, or which practitioners had problems. It is looking inward from the perspective of the whole body, and at the same time also looking inward myself. What I had to say may not be necessarily righteous, may not be necessarily appropriate. The intention is to offer a few introductory remarks, so that others may offer their valuable ideas. It is said to encourage more practitioners to step forward, share experience with each other, find loopholes and step righteously on the Fa-validation path.
