Dominican Republic: Practitioners Spread the Fa at the Eleventh International Santo Domingo Book Fair

(Clearwisdom.net) The Eleventh International Santo Domingo Book Fair, organized by the State Secretary of Culture and the General Management, was dedicated to the countries included in the Association of Caribbean States, and honored Emilio Rodriguez Demorizi, Dominican historian, essayist and lawyer.

As in previous years, the Falun Dafa Association of the Dominican Republic participated in this international event, presenting the important spiritual discipline of mind and body self-cultivation, Falun Dafa, to the attendees, as well as information related to the nine-year persecution of its practitioners in China by the Communist regime. Practitioners seized the opportunity to launch the "Anti-Persecution Millions of Signatures Global Campaign" (initiated by the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong), in an effort to appeal to the conscience of the Chinese regime to end the persecution before Beijing's Olympic Games.

Around 4,500 signatures were collected during the 21 that days practitioners participated in the event, most of them from young students who expressed their support very enthusiastically, and also from adults and the general public. When we explained in detail the crimes and persecution led by the Chinese Communist Party, many expressed their support for ending these violations and crimes.

The Epoch Times newspaper was also present at our stand, which was warmly received by the public.

Among the visitors, both local and international, some said they knew about the practice of Falun Gong, the persecution, the Millions of Signatures Global Campaign or about the Epoch Times, but still, explaining these issues to such a large number of people was challenging. This is one of the most important events for the local Falun Gong practitioners, because of the great amount of people from different parts of the country and world who gather at the fair facilities. Every year we try to clarify the truth and extend the teachings of Falun Dafa to everyone.

Overcoming obstacles and attachments, each year we attend this event, which helps us to continue and grow in our cultivation. Facing so many people with different notions and points of view, and being able to give them an opportunity, is without a doubt a great mission and responsibility that we always try to approach with wisdom and righteousness.
