(Clearwisdom.net) On June 13 and 14, 2008, the Hawaii Quit the Communist Party (CCP) Service Center held an activity in Honolulu. Volunteers at the service center passed out copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party (Nine Commentaries), VCDs of the Nine Commentaries, The Epoch Times newspaper and other materials to help people understand the facts about the CCP's crimes. This was the first activity held since the establishment of the Hawaii Quit the CCP Service Center. The event drew the attention of many local residents, as well as Chinese and western tourists.

During the two days of the activity, it happened that local Chinese waited nearby at the Hawaii Chinese Commerce Association to apply for passports, extend their stay, or to take care of other business. Many Chinese people took copies of The Epoch Times and read it carefully while waiting in line for their turn. Many Chinese also showed great interest in the VCDs of the Nine Commentaries. After the volunteers answered their questions in detail, they said they would watch the VCD carefully.

Ms. Wan from Shanghai told a volunteer that she had once made a special trip to appeal to the government, a right guaranteed to all citizens by the Chinese Constitution, because her estate inherited from her ancestors was illegally taken away by the CCP 18 years ago. For the past 18 years, she has been going around in order to try to get her property back, but there has been no resolution even today. She said she had never heard about the Nine Commentaries before, and did not have a clear understanding of the CCP's evil nature. The volunteer told her that the root cause of the problems in China is the Communist Party. Ms. Wan gladly accepted a VCD of the Nine Commentaries.

At the Hawaii Quit the CCP Service Center in Honolulu's Chinatown, Mr. Sun from Northeastern China carefully read the messages on the display boards. Some read, "Heaven will eliminate the CCP, Heaven blesses China," and, "Support the 38 million brave Chinese people who have quit the evil CCP." He accepted a VCD of the Nine Commentaries from a volunteer working at the service center. He said that he agreed with what the volunteer said, "Without the Communist Party, there will be a new China."

Linda from Beijing had learned something about the persecution of Falun Gong. She said that she had gone through the hardships of the "Up to the mountains and down to the villages" movement by the CCP [The policy was instituted in the late 1960s and early 1970s to send educated urban youth down to the countryside to receive "re-education"], but she doubted the necessity of quitting the CCP organizations, thinking that she had long broken away from the Communist Party in her mind. Volunteers explained the situation to her and had a candid conversation about the benefits of quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Linda said, "You are so considerate of the Chinese people. That's not easy, I'm sure." After a long talk, Linda became friends with a volunteer at the service center and agreed that she will continue to learn more once they meet again.

An elderly lady from Shanghai learned about the Nine Commentaries, and told the volunteers that she had witnessed the Communist Party killing landlords in Northern Jiangsu Province. She could not forget that tragic scene even decades later. She also said that the Communist Party has damaged Chinese culture and harmed the Chinese people's sense of morality.

Many people were shocked after seeing the display boards exposing the CCP's persecution of innocent Falun Gong practitioners, and they expressed their sympathy. Many people signed the petition to call for an end to the CCP's persecution.

In the past month, the CCP has extended its violence overseas, organizing attacks against volunteers working at Quit the CCP Service Centers in different places. The attacks in Flushing, New York were the most organized and violent. The Hawaii Quit the CCP Service Center was officially set up on May 29, 2008, to help more people quit the CCP and have a bright future.
