Survival Stories from the Earthquake Zone

(Clearwisdom.net) A 7.9 magnitude earthquake rocked China's Sichuan province on May 12, 2008, sending shock waves felt by people throughout China. Even today, many people are still in disbelief. Facing such a disaster reminds everyone of the preciousness of life.

I will tell two stories of those who survived this earthquake. I sincerely hope that this will open people's eyes to the truth about Falun Gong.

Friends who Understood the Truth Are Safe and Sound

I have a friend who lives in An County, Sichuan Province. We had not seen each other for ten years until we unexpectedly met last year. I told him about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) dirty tricks in persecuting Falun Gong, and the real situation of Falun Gong. He understood the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong. But, I did not have time to talk to him about quitting the CCP.

In early May, I had in mind to tell him the significance of quitting the CCP, but before I was able to set aside the time, the earthquake hit Sichuan. For over ten days after the earthquake, I lost communication with him. Yesterday, I found out that he was safe.

Just before the earthquake hit Sichuan, he went to Zhengzhou on business. His wife looked after the shop. At the time of the earthquake, she ran out of the shop and was not injured. The back wall of the shop had fallen in. Their residential building had a crack as wide as a hand and was declared unsafe. Many people were killed in shops on both sides of their shop. Many buildings collapsed. They felt so lucky. They were uninjured and able to leave An County to open a new business in Zhengzhou.

I believe that this is a good example of how people who understand the truth of Falun Gong will be saved when disasters happen.

Safe and Sound After Quitting the CCP

A week before the earthquake, I spoke to a number of older college professors about quitting the CCP, Youth League and Young Pioneers. After just a few words, they agreed to quit. Another practitioner had already told them about the persecution he had suffered in past years. The professors admired their friend, but although they did not quit the CCP at that time, they understood the truth and began to pay attention to Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. This was a good basis for my advising them to quit the party.

After the earthquake, I lost touch with them for a while. Once our communication resumed, they said they were very safe and their hearts were calm and steady. They felt that what I had told them about Falun Gong and quitting the CCP rang true. They said that they believed that I would be fine.

Hearing this, I was very grateful. They truly understood the meaning of "finding the truth." I believe that although many people in the earthquake zone are still in a panic because of aftershock tremors, my professor friends sleep calmly every night like me. They don't feel terror in their hearts.

I hope more people will open their hearts to the truth; open their hearts and be saved.
