Cultivating to Become a Selfless, Altruistic and Righteous Enlightened Being

We must think of every conceivable means to save people so as to fulfill our grand pledge to assist Teacher in the Fa-rectification. Every single life saved matters. The more, the better. Teacher has expounded on the importance of saving sentient beings from the perspective of the Fa, so we must follow it. In regard to saving people, we ought to use our wisdom to save more people.

We all come from the old universe. It follows that the Fa in the old universe has a lot of impact on us. With that in mind, how do we become righteous enlightened beings that are selfless and altruistic? In my personal opinion, the only way to attain it is by studying the Fa more, truly understand the content of the Fa and have each and every thought abiding by the Fa. We should start with being good people. We should be good everywhere we go and do good deeds often. We should think of others, be considerate at all times and have compassion in our cultivation. Let me give you an example. My wife used to be very stubborn, and she had laughed at me when I told her about Falun Gong. When I returned home after distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials, she would give me a hard time. She even cooperated with my boss to persecute me. She used to say, "I don't believe in qigong. I believe in only concrete benefits that I can see and touch." Then I changed my behavior when I remembered Teacher's Fa. I let my wife manage our money, including my salary, and helped her with house chores. I touched her heart with tangible actions. Gradually she started to improve. She even finished listening to all of Teacher's Fa lectures. She listened when I read Minghui Weekly and Zhengjian Weekly. When people reported me to the police, my wife would defend me. She often wears a Falun Gong amulet. She has even quit the Chinese Communist Party and its two affiliated student organizations. She also made a solemn declaration to repent her past wrongs of participating in the persecution of Falun Gong.

My wife's transformation has been inspirational to me. As long as we generate compassion in our cultivation and treat our family members with compassion as sentient beings to be saved, instead of treating them with the sentimentality of family members, we will be capable of solving family conflicts benevolently. There is no problem that cannot be solved as long as we follow the Fa. In addition, we must remember at all times that we are cultivators and that Teacher watches our actions. When we do well as cultivators, Teacher will be happy for us. When we don't, Teacher will be disappointed. We must follow the Fa at all times. We must have a steadfast faith in Teacher and the Fa at all times. It's not just lip service: actions speak louder than words. We should make an increasingly conscious effort to attain selflessness and altruism so as to ultimately become righteous enlightened beings that are truly selfless and altruistic.
