Finland: Practitioners in Helsinki Raise Awareness about the Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 5, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners from Helsinki made use of the weekend break to go to the railway station to share the beauty of Falun Gong with the people of Finland and at the same time to expose the ten-year brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

When the activity ended, practitioner Anja said, "Today nearly every person I talked to said that the CCP is just too evil. They all wanted to know more about Falun Gong and even thanked practitioners for coming to clarify the truth here. There were also some people who asked about where local practice sites were, expressing a wish to study and practice Falun Gong."

A practitioner named Sinikka added, "Soon after the activity concluded, a man came over to tell me that he had heard about Falun Gong from other people, and has also received our informational materials before. He told me he felt that the media should write more reports about Falun Gong."

Sinikka also said, "Another man told me, you should most certainly go see President Tarja Halonen. The president should speak about this matter (regarding the CCP persecuting Falun Gong). This is something the president has yet not done."

A Chinese student named Xiao Wang said that she ran into a woman who had just come from Mainland China. Ms. Wang asked her if she had heard of the big wave of quitting the CCP and the woman said that she knew about it and she also knew that Falun Gong was being persecuted. She said that a relative of hers had been detained for two years for practicing Falun Gong. When Ms. Wang her if she had declared the "three withdrawals" (withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party, the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers), she said that she still hadn't, and that she would have to ask her husband after going home. Xiao Wang gave her a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and an Epoch Times newspaper, and also told her about the Minghui/Clearwisdom website and the Da Ji Yuan website (Chinese version of the Epoch Times newspaper). She said she hoped that she would understand the true situation and would treasure this environment of freedom, and after understanding she could declare the three withdrawals herself on the Da Ji Yuan website.

Throughout the day's activities, many people lined up to sign their names on the petition in support of Falun Gong.
