Why the Old Forces Can Use the Olympics as an Excuse to Persecute Dafa Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has intensified its persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners using the Olympic Games as an excuse. Actually, the wicked CCP has been persecuting practitioners since July 20, 1999, so why can they use the Olympics as an excuse to continue persecuting practitioners? There must be an omission in our cultivation that links the Olympics to cultivation, dissolving the evil and Fa-rectification.

Let us review a section of Teacher's 2005 lecture in San Francisco,

"Disciple asks: Ordinary people say that the Olympic games will give China a chance to shine on the world stage, and after that the wicked Party will collapse. What should we make of that?

Teacher: Ordinary people can say whatever they wish. Well, the Olympics are a few years away, so it's questionable whether the wicked Party will make it that long. And whether or not it will be given a chance to shine is not up to humans. Human society wasn't created for it. What's there to shine, anyway?" ("Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005")

After studying this lecture, some practitioners use human understanding to try to guess when the CCP would dissolve, when Fa-rectification will end and whether the Olympics will be held. Furthermore, some practitioners predict that the dissolution of the CCP and the finalization of Fa-rectification will occur during the period of the Olympic Games. Isn't this based on everyday people's thinking and not on the Fa? The Olympics are an everyday people's affair. Every event in society is here for the Fa. It is the Fa that dictates an event, not the Olympics.

As practitioners, we do not get involved with everyday people's affairs. People may say what they want to say. However, the CCP should be eliminated. The Olympics belongs to the world. It is a privilege for China to hold it, but it is not for glorifying the CCP. When the CCP is gone, China will still be China.

Now is the time for us to save sentient beings. Dissolving the CCP is not our purpose, but saving sentient beings is. We should concentrate our efforts on saving sentient beings. To focus on when Fa-rectification will end or if the Olympics will be held is an attachment we should remove.

We should learn from our past mistake of being attached to the election during the CCP's 16^th National People's Congress. Teacher gave a lecture specifically on this matter. With respect to the Beijing Olympics, we may be making the same mistake. As a result, the old forces are able to use our loopholes to intensify the persecution.

There is no serious harm if only a few practitioners are attached to this. However, if many practitioners have this attachment, it will give the old forces a clear excuse to intensify the persecution.
