Additional Persecution News from China - July 1, 2008 (58 Reports)
(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of
persecution that took place in 43 cities or counties in 15 provinces. In this
report, 15 practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during their
detention and at least 86 practitioners were illegally arrested. 1. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Tingwen and Mr. Xing Bofeng
Arrested On June 27, 2008, Mr. Wu Tingwen from Anci District, Langfang City, was
arrested at Langfang No. 10 Middle School. In the afternoon his home was
ransacked. Mr. Xing Bofeng from Yongqing City was arrested on the same day and his house
was searched. 2. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Information on the Persecution of Mr. Jiang
Jiqiang Mr. Jiang Jiqiang and his wife from Baoxia Town Yun County, Shiyan City, were
arrested in 2001. They were sentenced to three years in a forced labor camp. In May 2008 police detained Mr. Jiang for more than three weeks with the
excuse of investigating him for his views on the Wenchuan Earthquake and the
Olympics. 3. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Fifty-Nine-Year-Old Ms. Jin Baorong
Arrested While Clarifying the Truth at a Bus Station in Liaocheng City on June
29 4. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhuang Meihua Arrested On May 14, 2008, officers from the police station in Wusi Farm arrested Ms.
Zhuang Meihua from Fengxian District, Shanghai. They confiscated her Falun Gong
books. 5. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Qingzhu Arrested on June 14, 2008 6. [Liuhe County, Jilin Province] Ms. Gao Yanhong from Gushanzhi Town
Arrested in June 7. [Hebei Province] Mr. Jia Wenqing Arrested On the morning of June 28, 2008 , 63-year-old practitioner Mr. Jia Wenqing
from Zhanghedian Town was arrested by the National Security Division in Chengan
County. He was detained in the custodial station in Chengan County. 8. [Bangbu City, Anhui Province] Mr. Yang Yong Arrested At 10 p.m. on June 20, 2008, police arrested Mr. Yang Yong. In the afternoon
on June 21, police ransacked his home. Mr. Yang is currently detained in the
First Custodial Station in Bangbu City. 9. [Beijing] Mr. Liang Changbiao from Junzhuang Town, Mentougou, Beijing,
Arrested June 28, 2008 10. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information on the Arrest of
Mr. Jia Baoqi On May 20, officers from the Xinglong Police Station arrested Mr. Jia Baoqi.
They confiscated his keys and ransacked his home. Mr. Jia was sentenced to three
years in Benxi Forced Labor Camp. Deputy Director of Xinglong Police Station Li Chunlong: 86-13709875432 Beixi Forced Labor Camp: 86-414-4618972 11. [Beijing] Mr. Yan Shangtian and Ms. Shi Haiyun Arrested On the morning of June 30, 2008, Li Zhidong, Director of the Xiangyuan
Residential Community Committee in Yanqing, and over ten policemen from the
610 Office to broke into Mr. Yan Shangtian's house. They confiscated
a computer, a printer, a CD writer and a laminating machine.
Practitioner Ms. Shi Haiyun was there at the time. Both practitioners
were arrested. 12. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Hanmei, in Her 50's and from
Shuncheng District, Arrested on June 30, 2008 13. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Cheng Xuli Arrested Hangzhou City police arrested 51-year-old Ms. Cheng Xuli from Anlu City when
she was clarifying the truth in Tanghe Residential Area in Hangzhou.
She is being detained in the Xixi Road Detention Center. 14. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Yinghong and Ms. Yu Zhihong
Arrested On June 30, 2008, Ms. Sun Yingtong and Ms. Yu Zhihong from Yingkong City went
to the National Security Division to demand the release of Ms. Zhang Guiying and
her son-in-law, Mr. Zhang Xiao. However, both practitioners were then detained
by the National Security Division. 15. [Yongnian County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Zhuting and Mr. Zhang Shuili
Arrested On June 24, 2008, police from the National Security Bureau in Yongnian County
and from the police station in Xiaolongma Township went to Xiaolongma Township
to arrest practitioner Ms. Zhang Zhuting. On June 28, police arrested
practitioner Mr. Zhang Shuili. Both practitioners were detained at the custodial
station. 16. [Huaying City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Peng Shiqiong Arrested and Mr. Deng
Qixing Sent to Forced Labor Camp On the evening of June 28, 2008, Ms. Peng Shiqiong from Huaying City was
arrested in Guangan. She has already been sent to forced labor camps three
times, where she has served over six years since July 1999, and been severely
tortured. On the morning of June 10, 2008, Deng Licheng, director of the police station
in Lushi Town, and several other policemen arrested Mr. Deng Qixing from Huaying
City while he was distributing NTDTV Chinese Spectacular DVDs in Lushi Town,
Huaying City. He was detained at the custodial station in Huaying City and is
now in a forced labor camp. 17. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Li Fuzhi Arrested At 8 a.m. on June 26, officers from the police station in Dongluobao
Township, Dingxing County, and officials from the local township government
broke into practitioner Li Fuzhi's house, confiscated Falun Dafa materials, and
arrested Li Fuzhi. 18. [Shanxi Province] Several Practitioners Arrested Ms. Chen Daying, in her 80s; Ms. Wang Xiuzhen, in her 70s; Ms. Chen Huaiying
from Hanbin District, Ankang City; and Mr. Wu Changchun, in his 40s, from Hanyin
County were arrested. English teacher Ms. Luo Changyun from Hanbin District in
Ankang City became destitute and homeless due to police harassment. Mr. Liu
Yuwen was sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. Ms. Cao Ping was sent to
a forced labor camp. Ms. Yan Guangying was sentenced to prison. 19. [Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Yunsheng and Ms. Zhang Yingyuan Illegally
Detained at the Linqing Custodial Station On June 19, 2008, police from the Songlin Police Station broke into the
houses of practitioners Mr. Sun Yunsheng and Ms. Zhang Yingyuan in Mafoshi and
ransacked their homes. They confiscated Dafa books and a computer and arrested
both practitioners. Officers detained them in the Songlin Police Station and
severely beat Mr. Sun. The two practitioners are now in the Linqing Custodial
Station. 20. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Additional Information on the
Arrests of Mr. Li Zhenglin and Ms. Wang Naifang and Her Son, Zhao Liankai On the evening of June 28, 2008, police from the Fushun City Police
Department and Qingyuan County Police Department arrested practitioners Ms.
Yanli, Mr. Li Zhenglin, Mr. Lao Liutou, and Ms. Wang Naifang. Wang's son, Mr.
Zhao Liankai, was arrested on the morning of June 29. Yan Li was sent to Fushun
and the other practitioners were taken to the Dashagou Custodial Station. 21. [Liaoning Province] 610 Office Police in Ximu Town, Haicheng, Broke into
Ms. Hou Weiyu's House and Arrested Her on June 27, 2008 22. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhao Jianping Arrested On the morning of June 26, 2008, Ms. Zhao Jianping and another practitioner
were clarifying the truth to people on Qianchuan Street. Zhu Guirong, the
village Party secretary, reported them to the local Huancheng Police Station,
and the practitioners were arrested. 23. [Dongfeng County, Jilin Province] Ms. Ha Jingbo and Ms. Jiang Luoling
Arrested On the afternoon of June 28, 2008, when Ms. Ha Jingbo and Ms. Jiang Luoling,
English teachers at the Fourth Middle School in Dongfeng County, were
distributing truth-clarifying materials in Dayang Town, they were reported to
the police. Dayang Police Station officers arrested them, and they are currently
being detained at the custodial station in Dongfeng County. 24. [Beijing] On June 21, Police Arrested Fifty-Three-Year-Old Ms. Guo Yangai
from Koudai Lane, Liuyin Street, Xicheng District, Beijing 25. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Wenjun Arrested On the evening of June 30, 2008, when the daughter of practitioner Ms. Guo
Wenjun from Shijiazhuang returned home, two Qingyuan Street Police Station
officers grabbed her, twisted her arms, and took away her handbag, mobile phone,
and wallet. They found her house keys in her handbag, opened the door, and
forced their way into her home. They arrested Ms. Guo Wenjun. 26. [Bayanzhuoer City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Li Si and His Wife Arrested On June 28, 2008, police from the National Security Division in the Linhe
District arrested Mr. Li Si and his wife from Linhe District, Bayanzhuoer City,
and searched their house. 27. [Xichang, Sichuan Province] In June 2008, Police from the National
Security Bureau Took Mr. Guo Bin to Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp, Where He Was
Persecuted 28. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Shuqing and Ms. Li Fang
Arrested At 2 p.m. on June 24, local police arrested Ms. Yang Shuqing and three
members of Ms. Li Fang's family. They are from Heping District, Shenyang City.
Later, Ms. Yang's husband was released. Ms. Yang and Ms. Li were taken to the
custodial station in Zhaohua City. 29. [Daqinqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gong Jiantao Arrested On the evening of June 27, 2008, Mr. Gong Jiantao from Yuanwang District,
Daqing City, went out to distribute truth-clarifying materials. He was seen on a
security camera, and Longnan Police Station officers took him to the detention
center in Ranghulu District, Daping City. His house was ransacked. 30. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cheng Mozhong Arrested Four officers from the police station in Jimo City arrested Mr. Cheng Mozhong
from Wucun Village, Guozhuang, Jimo City, when he was distributing
truth-clarifying materials on June 28, 2008. At around noon, police broke into
his house and confiscated a TV, a DVD player, a computer and a printer. They
also took 7,900 yuan in cash and a bank certificate for 5,000 yuan.
The value of the goods taken away totaled 26,000 yuan. 31. [Li County, Hebei Province] Ms. Cai Guiju and Ms. Xiao Kun Arrested On the morning of June 30, Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Cai Guoju and Ms.
Xiao Kun from Li County, Hebei Province, were distributing truth-clarifying
materials when police found and arrested them. In the afternoon, police from the
Gaoyang Police Department, the 610 Office, and Li County Police Department
searched Ms. Cai's house. 32. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Jie and Mr. Wang Pengying
Arrested On the afternoon of June 24, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Jiang Jie from
Yingcheng Town, Jiutai City was arrested. She is currently detained in Dehui
City. On the evening of June 27, 53-year-old Mr. Wang Pengying was forcibly taken
from the ground floor of the building of his rented apartment. His whereabouts
are unknown. 33. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Meng Qingying Taken to Women's Drug
Rehabilitation Center in Harbin City for on June 27 34. [Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yuanzhen Illegally Detained When Ms. Liu Yuanzhen from Qianjing Town, Jiansanjiang, went through security
check at the Jiamusi Train Station, her truth-clarifying materials, three
electronic books, and three CCP-withdrawal cards were discovered in her bag.
Police arrested her, and she is now detained at the Rail Custodial Station in
Jiamusi. 35. [Fuyu County, Jilin Province] Mr. Xu Qingwu and Wife Arrested At 8 p.m. on June 26, 2008, police from the Fuyu County Police Department and
from Caijiagou Police Station arrested Mr. Xu Qingwu and his wife, Ms. Mo
Guiling, from their home in Caijiagou Town, Fuyu County. They are being held in
the custodial station in Fuyu County. 36. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Jiang Bingwen Arrested On the evening of June 26, 2008, Mr. Jiang Bingwen clarified the truth to his
father, who reported him to the police. Police from the 610 Office in Zhaodong
City and from the police station in Changwu Town went to his home and arrested
him. 37. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xu Chunfeng from Xinxiaoqu
Residential Area, Huanggu District, Arrested at Home on June 29, 2008 38. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pan Xinmei Arrested On the afternoon of June 29, 2008, police arrested 53-year-old Pan Xinmei and
searched her home. 39. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Yutai and Others Arrested On June 5 and 6, 2008, Xinjieji Police Station officers in Youhao District,
Yichun City, arrested practitioners Mr. Zhao Yutai, Mr. Xu Jie and Mr. Wu
Wenfeng from Xinjieji for clarifying the truth. Director's Office of the Police Department in Youhao District, Yichun City,
Heilongjiang Province: 86-458-3298501 Deputy Director Office: 86-458-3298510 40. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Mr. Liu Yifei Arrested Mr. Liu Yifei is a practitioner in his 20s. On June 1, 2008, he was arrested
when he was writing a persecution report. He was taken to the Pingdingshan
Custodial Station. 610 Office in Pingdingshan City, Henan Province: 86-375-2990610 Han Xiaohui from the National Security Division: 86-13603901301 41. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Lu Shanshan and Other Practitioners
Arrested At 1 a.m. on June 21, 2008, approximately ten officers from the police
station in Baohe District, Hefei City, sawed through the security door and
entered the home of 32-year-old Ms. Lu Shanshan, whom they then arrested. They
confiscated her laptop, a printer, and two satellite receivers. At 5 p.m. on June 21, police from the Hongguang Police Station in Hefei City
broke into the house of Ms. Zhang Yulian and arrested her. They confiscated a
computer hard-drive. At noon on June 22, the director of Hongguang Police
Station and the Community Party secretary led other police to arrest Ms. Wang
Shanghua, Ms. Lin Lin, Ms. Xiao Ji, Ms. Xu Xiaoqing, Ms. Lao Lu, Ms. Fa Binglan,
and Ms. Zha Zhihua.. 42. [Haozhou City, Anhui Province] Mr. Zhou Zhaoyang and His Family Arrested At 3 a.m. on June 24, 2008, Zhao Ruijun, Director of the police station at
Guantang Town, Haozhou City, and the Party secretary of the Town Political and
Legal Committee led eight policemen to break into the house of Mr. Zhou Zhaoyang.
They pushed him into the police car and took him to the police station. His wife
and son tried to prevent the police from taking him away, but they were arrested
and fined $500 each. His son was detained for 14 hours before he was released.
His wife was taken to the detention center. Mr. Zhou's whereabouts are unknown. [Jingning County, Gansu Province] Practitioners Arrested From June 10-20, 2008, police arrested the following practitioners from
Qingning County: Mr. Ma Chengjun, Mr. Li Ziqi, Mr. Li Jianshe, Mr. Zhang Yunlong,
and Mr. Qin Yaohua and his wife. 44. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] On June 27, Police from Xiyuan Police
Station Arrested Forty-Three-Year-Old Xi Yuehong and Forty-One-Year-Old Xi
Yonghong 45. [Baise, Guangxi] Mr. Huang Yuxuan Sentenced to Five Years in Prison Mr. Huang Yuxuan was illegally sentenced to five years in prison.
He had been sentenced to three and a half years in prison in 2001. Not long
after his release in 2004, he was arrested again and has now been sentenced to
five years. 46. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xie Yuanxia Arrested On June 25, 2008, Ms. Xie Yuanxia and another practitioner from Wuhan were
reported to the police when they were clarifying the truth at the Panlongcheng
Construction Site across the border of Wuhan and Huangbi. Police from the
Panlongcheng Police Station arrested them. Ms. Xie was detained at the Dongxihu
Women's Custodial Station in Wuhan. 47. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ji Min Arrested On June 22, Ms. Ji Min, 45, was clarifying the truth while shopping at the
Dafuyuan Supermarket. She was seen on the video camera, and Badahu Police
Station officers came to arrest her. She was detained in the Badahu Police
Station. 48. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhu Rongfang from Xinbin County,
Fushun City Arrested at 5 a.m. on June 29, 2008 49. [Tianjin City] Mr. Zhang Jian Arrested From May 5 to 8, 2008, when Mr. Zhang Jian from Hongqiao District, Tianjin
City, was distributing truth-clarifying materials in a residential area in
Xiqing District, a security guard in the area discovered him and reported him to
the police. He was arrested and detained at the Dabianzhuang Detention Center in
Xiqing District. 50. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Dianguo and His Family Arrested At 5 p.m. on June 29, 2008, Mr. Zhang Dianguo and Ms. Guo Guixiang were at
home in Yi County when the police came and arrested them. Their house was
ransacked. 51. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Cheng Sent to Forced Labor Camp At 5 a.m. on June 3, 2008, police from the police station at Qianyang
Township arrested Mr. Liu Cheng from his home in Qianyang Township, Yi County.
He was "illegally detained" at the Second Custodial Station in Jinzhou
City. He was then sent to the Jinzhou City Forced Labor Camp. 52. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liang Meixiang Arrested At 5 p.m. on June 28, 2008, when Ms. Liang Meixiang from the Quanshui
Residential Area, Ganjingzi District, Dalian City, was distributing
truth-clarifying materials, she was reported. Police from the Dafangsheng Police
Station in Dalian Bay arrested her. 53. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Police from Beijing Road Police Station in
Chuanying District Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners On the afternoon of June 28, 2008, police from the Beijing Road Police
Station in the Chuanying District, Jilin City, arrested Ms. Xu Guiqin and Ms.
Shen Yi. They searched their houses and confiscated two computers, two printers,
and cash. 54. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Mr. Xin Baodong and His Wife, Ms. Gao
Shuying, Arrested from Home on June 27, 2008; Their House Was Searched 55. [Xianyang City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Jia Ye and Ms. Xiao Chunhong
Arrested On the evening of June 4, 2008, police from the Qindu Police Department
arrested 45-year-old Mr. Jia Ye and 41-year-old Ms. Xiao Chunhong from their
apartment in Qilipu Residential Area in Xianyang. Police confiscated a printer,
a computer, several DVD/CD recorders, and truth-clarifying materials. The
practitioners are currently being detained in the Qindu District Custodial
Station in Xianyang. 56. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] On June 3, 2008, Police from Houan Town
Police Station Arrested Ms. Yan Lihua from Houan Town, Fushun County, Fushun
City 57. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Police from Beijiadian Police Station in
Guyan Entered Practitioner's Home under False Pretenses and Ransacked House At 11a.m. on June 16, 2008, three policemen from the Beijiadian Police
Station forced their way into Ms. Hui Yajing's home under the false pretense of
checking household registration and ransacked it. They confiscated Master Li's
photo, copies of "Minghui Weekly" and Falun Dafa books. 58. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Chunjuan and Mr. Liu Pengfei
Sentenced On April 25, 2008, Ms. Li Chunjuan and Mr. Liu Pengfei were tried illegally
at the Pingfang District Court. Ms. Li Chunjuan was sentenced to five years in
prison and detained in the Women's Prison in Harbin City. Mr. Liu Pengfei was
