Ottawa, Canada: Practitioners Hold Rally in front of Chinese Embassy to Expose the Persecution and Urge Embassy Staff to Withdraw from the CCP (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 22, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners held a rally in front of the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa. Practitioners exposed the persecution, and spoke directly to the embassy staff, urging them to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations and not assist in the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong overseas.

Twenty-two-year-old Lu Yang is the son of practitioner Jiyan Zhang, the wife of a diplomat stationed in the Chinese Embassy in Canada, who defected in March 2007 due to the persecution of Falun Gong in Canada by the Chinese Embassy. He said clearly to the embassy staff, "I recall our life in the past four years in the embassy and know you through daily contact. I know that under pressure most of you do things that you don't want to do. I'd like to tell you from the bottom of my heart that Falun Dafa is good. Don't be involved in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners."

Lu Yang spoke out to Chinese embassy staff sincerely: "Please wake up! Your one thought and choice will determine your future. Quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations as soon as possible. Don't be involved in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners."

Mr. Lu continued, "Nine years ago, Jiang Zemin's faction initiated an unprecedented brutal persecution of Falun Gong. Since then, the CCP has invested enormously to persecute Chinese people, leading to countless Falun Gong practitioners being imprisoned, and suffering brainwashing and forced labor."The CCP manipulates its media to slander Falun Gong and fabricate news to mislead Chinese people and the international community into misunderstanding and even hating Falun Gong. I think many of you experienced various political movements after the CCP took power. Some of your family members even died from the persecution that took place in those movements. Please think about it calmly, isn't the persecution of Falun Gong another disaster for the Chinese people?"

Dr. Lei, a Ph.D in ecology, said in an interview, "In an expo one year before the start of the persecution, Ambassador Mei Ping grasped my hand and thanked us practitioners for promoting traditional Chinese culture. But after the persecution, the attitude of the embassy changed completely. I know they are clear in their heart that Falun Gong is most righteous, and best represents Chinese traditional moral values. But they know the CCP's cruelness and dare not speak out."

He continued, "From this point, one can see the CCP's distortion of humanity. I hope that everyone in the embassy will come to know the facts and quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations."

Seventy-six year-old Ms. Huang has been clarifying the truth in front of the embassy for nine years, since the persecution began. She said, "Falun Gong practitioners have been conducting anti-persecution activities and upholding righteousness for nine years. Their influence on Chinese people is increasing. The officials in the embassy are facing choices. All of them are thinking. I believe they will make right choice."

Artist Kunlun Zhang was unlawfully imprisoned and tortured in China at the beginning of the persecution and rescued to Canada with the help of the Canadian government. His daughter participated in the rally on this day.

Artist Kathy Gillis said in an interview, "When I was a child, I did not understand what happened during Nazi Germany. But now I understand. I can't keep silent, and must speak out about the facts."

During the rally, more than a dozen CCP officials came out of the embassy and listened to the practitioners' speeches.

Canadian CBC TV station, CBC French Radio Broadcasting station, and Global TV covered the event and interviewed practitioners during the rally.
