Officers from Jiamusi Railroad Public Security Bureau Violently Arrest Mr. Meng Xianying

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Meng Xianjie is a Falun Gong practitioner from Qianjin Town, Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province. He was arrested on June 23, 2008. When his sister, Meng Xianying, went to inquire about her brother at Jiamusi Railroad Public Security Bureau, the police beat her so savagely that she lost consciousness. The police did not want to be held responsible, so they left her alone at a hospital. The details follow.

On June 23, 2008, at around two o'clock, officers from the Jiamusi Railroad Public Security Bureau, along with local policemen Xu Xingyong, Sun Baoshan, and another 20 individuals, broke into Mr. Meng Xianjie's home. They jumped over the wall, broke the window, and broke down the door. They also ransacked the house and took two portable computers, a printer, and four or five boxes of paper and ink. After the break-in, the local officers emphasized that they were acting on orders from Jiamusi Railroad Public Security Bureau. They did this in order to cover up their criminal actions. They also fixed the broken window as part of the cover-up.

On June 25, 2008, at around 9:30 a.m., Mr. Meng's sister, Ms. Meng Xianying, along with another relative went to inquire about Mr. Meng at the Jiamusi Railroad Public Security Bureau. They told an entrance guard that they were his relatives and asked where Mr. Meng was being held and why he had been arrested. The guard told them that the people on the second floor handled Falun Gong issues. Ms. Meng asked, "Could we go upstairs and ask them?" When the guard asked them to register, Ms. Meng said, "We will register if he is here." The guard notified the people upstairs, "There are two people who want to see that Falun Gong practitioner. They are from Sanjiang and are not registered yet."

A minute later, a man in his 50s came down. Ms. Meng asked him his name and he replied that his last name was Wang. She asked again, "We want to know whether Meng Xianjie is here or not and why he was arrested. Wang answered, "You register first, and then I will tell you everything." She said, "We do not want to register or go upstairs--we just want to know whether Meng Xianjie is here or not." The man snarled, "You cannot leave without registering--you are Falun Gong yourselves." Ms. Meng asked, "Can't people come and ask a question here?" The man jumped up and attempted to grab her. At that time, her relative had stepped out into the hall. Just as she left the building, the man inside the building shouted, "Don't let her go, catch her!" Two policemen then jumped out of a parked car, and three or four men came out from the building running. Wang grabbed Ms. Meng by her collar and dragged her towards the building. Four to five guys all dragged her upstairs. She yelled, "What are you doing? Why are you doing this?" She suddenly felt an excruciating pain in her back and began screaming. They ignored her screams and kept dragging her. She began to convulse violently and passed out.

The police officers had no choice but to take her to the Railroad Hospital. She felt something waving in front of her nose and heard someone say, "She is coming around." During the exam, she could not move her back. The police officers told her, "If you can walk, you may go. If not, you are responsible for all the medical bills if you stay here." They then left her at the hospital and went away. One doctor kindly asked her, "Do you need me to examine you? I can help you, but you will have to pay all the bills." Ms. Meng was in and out of consciousness, and her wallet and keys were gone. With the kind doctor and nurse's help, a taxi was called which took her to her friend's home. She could not move her back and was unable to eat or drink.

Ms. Meng Xianying was injured both mentally and physically. She was bedridden for days and could not move. She felt dizzy, and her blood pressure was high--around 170-180/100, and she had to rely on her friend to take care of her. She lost a lot of weight and is still struggling to recover.
