(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities and counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 29 practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during their detention and at least 54 practitioners were illegally arrested.

At 2:00 p.m. on June 23, 2008, police from the Jiangguantun Police Station arrested Mr. Wang Lishan's wife, Ms. Qiu Yu, Ms. Deng Guizhi, Ms. Huang Xi, and two other practitioners. They are being persecuted in a brainwashing center in Liaocheng City.

At around 4:00 p.m. on June 20, 2008, a dozen people from the Wanquan County National Security Team, the Anjiabao Township Police Station, and the Tianmaozhuang Village Committee rushed into the home of Ms. Peng Yanqin and took all the Falun Dafa books. Ms. Peng was then arrested and taken to the county detention center.

Shijiazhuang practitioner Ms. Jin Ying was arrested by police from the Qiaoxi District National Security Team and the Dongli Police Station. She is now being detained in the Shijiazhuang First Detention Center.

On the afternoon of March 18, a group of people from the Haidian Police Department and the Haidian 610 Office rushed into the home of Mr. Zhao Bin and took away Dafa books and other audio and video materials. Mr. Zhao was arrested and taken to the Fengtai District Brainwashing Center. That night, he managed to walk out of the brainwashing center with righteous thoughts and has now been forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution.

Ms. Zhu Taiju, 44, lives in Yangjia Town, Jingyang District, Deyang City. At around 3:00 p.m. on June 11, 2008, she went to Mianzhu, the earthquake disaster area, to clarify the truth. She was reported and then arrested by police from the National Security Team of the Mianzhu Police Department and the Shidi Police Station. The police also searched her home and took Dafa books and other property. She is now being detained in the Jingyang District Detention Center.

Ms. Li Guilan, in her 40s, lives in Yangjia Village, Dachangshandao Town, Changhai County. On June 18, 2008, she was reported to the police while she was clarifying the truth to others near her home. Police from the Changhai County Police Department arrested her. She is now in the Changhai County Detention Center.

In March 2008, the Qitaihe City Police Department, in collusion with the Taoshan Police Department, arrested 17 practitioners. Among of them, Ms. Ma Fengxia, Ms. Yao Shufan, and Ms. Song Lu are being detained in the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Zhang Tianjun, Mr. Yan Jingzhu, and Mr. Song Lianhong are being detained in the Suihua Forced Labor Camp. Other practitioners have been released.

At noon on June 23, 2008, the Qianguo County Court illegally tried practitioners Ms. Yang Mei, Ms. Zhang Xiulan, Ms. Xu Fengqin, Mr. Ma Shijie, Ms. Dong Fengshan, Mr. Li Sheng, and Mr. Xu Yangang.

In June 2008, Ms. Zhang Fengzhou and her husband from Nonghe Town, Tonghe County, Harbin City, as well as their son, Mr. Zhang Wenguang, were arrested and their home was searched. Three computers, two printers, and a cell phone were taken.

On May 10, 2008, Bao Fuzhong, Party secretary of Liuzhong Village, Taocheng District, Hengshui City, and eight or nine other people illegally searched the homes of local practitioners Ms. Sun Xiuliang, Ms. Gai Guifang, Mr. Chen Yukun, and Mr. Yan Guanhe.

Practitioners from Xushui County, Baoding City, who were arrested are being detained in the Xushui County Detention Center. They include Ms. Han Xiurong, Ms. Hou Yulan, Ms. Ma Yuxia, Ms. Qian Xiuzhen, Ms. Wu Xiuping, Ms. Wang Shuying, Mr. Li Yujun, and Mr. Huang Baochang.

On June 17, 2008, many Xingtai practitioners were arrested by the National Security Team of the Qiaodong District Police Department. Those practitioners included Ms. Qian Wanyun, Mr. Wang Hui, Ms. Wang Bin, Mr. Feng Kai, Mr. Wu Sanbai, Ms. Zhang Yuefang, Ms. Qian Yuemin, Mr. Wang Jinshan, and others. They are being held in the Xingtai First Detention Center and the Xingtai Brainwashing Center.

On February 25, Jinzhou practitioners Ms. Xiang Ying, Ms. Liu Fengmei, and Ms. Zhang Xiulan were arrested. They are being detained in the Jinzhou City Second Detention Center. The detention center issued "critical notices" concerning the health of these practitioners many times, but the police department refused to release any of them.

On June 14, 2008, the Olympic Torch passed through Zhunyi City, and dozens of miles of highway were closed. Several practitioners were arrested, including Ms. Zhao Yuehong, around 50 years old; Ms. Gao Qiying; Ms. Peng Erjie, in her 60s; and Ms. Zhao Zhenghong, 64 years old.

On May 27, 2008, personnel from the Xitiangezhuang Town 610 Office in Miyun County, Beijing, in collusion with police from the Xitiangezhuang Police Station, arrested practitioners Ms. Su Guiying and Ms. Pei Hongxia and searched their homes. The practitioners are being held in the Miyun County Detention Center.

Ms. Zheng Yunjing is a practitioner from Donggezhuang Village, Xitiangezhuang Town, Miyun County, Beijing. She was arrested on May 20, 2008. She has been sentenced to two years of forced labor, and on June 19, she was taken to Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp.

Mr. Zhang Daozhong lives in the Dongjinmazhuang, Weifang Developing District. On June 21, 2008, police from the Weifang Developing District Police Department and the Dongming Road Police Station began monitoring his home around the clock, which has forced his family to become homeless to avoid further persecution.

Ms. Liu Qin, in her 40s, lives in Shanxigou Village, Liubinbao, Yanqing County, Beijing. On June 18, the village director reported her to the police. She was arrested by the county National Security Team.

At around 5:00 p.m. on June 17, 2008, police from the Ganjingzi National Security Team of Dalian City seized a key from Ms. Zhou Xiudong's husband as he was about to enter his home. The police rushed into the room and arrested her. Ms. Zhou is now in the Fushun Brainwashing Center.

At 5:00 p.m. on June 16, 2008, police from the Yangcun Township Police Station and the Dingxing County National Security Team arrested practitioner Ms. Wang Hongying from Yangzhuang. She is being detained in Dingxing Detention Center.
