Using Safety of the Beijing Olympic Games as an Excuse, Police in Gaobeidian, Hebei Province Arrest Over Twenty Falun Gong Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) Since June 2008, under orders from Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials and under the pretext of ensuring the "safety" of the Beijing Olympic Games, many more Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted. Directed by Wang Hong'en from the Baoding National Security Team, the National Security Team of Gaobeidian Police Department and Zhao Kejun, Zhao Jun, and Zhang Sijun, who are 610 Office staff members, police stations were ordered to arrest more than 20 Falun Gong practitioners and ransack their homes. More than ten practitioners are currently illegally detained in a detention center, and several practitioners were forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution.

On June 17, Xiao Xiuying from YanJiawu Village; Li Conglan, also from YanJiawu Village; Liu Binglan, who opened a local tailoring store; Du Jifeng; and Liu Sumei, an environment protection employee, were arrested. Ms. Liu Yunfeng, who stayed at her daughter's home, was harassed and the home was ransacked.

On June 24, Xue Lin (Sizhuang Donghuang), Yu Guanghai (Sizhuang), Gu Guifen, Li Zhanchao, and Wang Jibin (Gong Xinzhuang) were arrested.

On June 25, Hu Zhenchun from Yang Mansa Village, Cao Chunhua from Fang Jiawu Village, and Zhang Yuqin (Gong Jiazhuang) were arrested. Tian Hongmei was harassed on the same day.

On June 26, Liu Fengying (Gong Xinzhuang), Guo Lianhua, Zhou Yuqing, Liu Xiangfen from Yang Mansa Village, Yang Liping from Yang Mansa Village, and Zong Shuqin from Yang Mansa Village were arrested.
