Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Li Qiang from Tangshan City Arrested

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 25, 2008, police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Qiang, 36, who lived at the Yufeng Building in Lubei District, Tangshan City.

Mr. Li was illegally arrested at his workplace, the electrical plant of the Tangshan Wangtong Company at the Tangshan Post Office. Officers from Zunhua City Police Department, led by Chief Wang Kunyuan of the State Security Division, made the arrest at noon, accompanied by the management staff of Mr. Li's work unit. The police also went to Mr. Li's home to search it. Eight individuals participated in the search, confiscating property that ranged from a laptop computer to personal items. In the meantime, the officers took Mr. Li to the Zunhua City Police Station in handcuffs. Mr. Li's wife asked the officers who ransacked her home why they had arrested him and what evidence they had against him. They responded by assuring her that they would find the evidence.

On July 10, 2008, this same group of officers went to Tangshan City and arrested Mr. Li's 76-year-old father, Mr. Li Chunhua, and confiscated his property. They took the elder Mr. Li to Zunhua City, where he suffered a relapse of his previous illnesses due to the emotional stress of the arrest. Both Cao Yanze, head of the 610 Office, and Wang Kunyuan, head of the State Security Division, ordered several physical examinations of the elder Mr. Li in preparation for putting him in the detention center. But since Mr. Li's systolic blood pressure was as high as 240, and his heart rate was abnormally high, they feared taking responsibility for his health and released him. The elder Mr. Li, however, was bedridden as a result of the mental stress and had difficulty moving. The following week, this same group of officers went to the elder Mr. Li's hometown of Wenzhuang in Zunhua City and again confiscated his property. They also arrested his son and confiscated his son's property, compounding the suffering of the elder Mr. Li.

Cao Yanze, director, Zunhua City 610 Office: 86-315-6659879 (Office), 86-315-6629220 (Home), 86-13785575117 (Cell)

Wang Jiguo, deputy director, Zunhua City Brainwashing Center: 86-13603256214 (Cell), 86-315-6618184 (Home). Wang has actively participated in the persecution despite the fact that his predecessor, Chen Jianguo, suffered karmic retribution for his deeds when he was struck by a vehicle and killed.

Liu Guisheng, former assistant director of the detention center, was appointed director of the Zunhua City Brainwashing Center. He has been persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners relentlessly. 86-13832982184 (Cell)
