Twenty-three Cases of Karmic Retribution in Bin County, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture,
the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable
for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun
Gong is the characteristic of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while
actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic
retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while
evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a
compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing.
While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following
orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for
their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they
escape retribution. Twenty-three cases of karmic retribution were reported from Bin County,
Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. 1. Sun Yanbin, former Party Secretary and later Chairman of the County
People's Congress used to head the 610 Office. Driven by monetary
and political greed, he enthusiastically cooperated with Jiang Zemin's regime to
persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Under his tenure, more than 30 county
residents were arrested. Close to 20 of them were sent to labor camps, including
to the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp and the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp in Harbin
City where they were savagely tortured. Following Sun's promotion to Chairman of the People's Congress he continued
to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. One day in January 2004, his chauffeur
explained to him how he had benefited from Falun Gong practice, and dispelled
the lies fabricated against Falun Gong. He reported the chauffeur to the police,
causing him to be sentenced to two years in prison and fired from his job. In order to levy long-term prison sentences on practitioners, he fabricated
numerous charges against them. Many practitioners were sent to the Changlinzi
and Wanjia Forced Labor Camps, and the ordeal that followed for them defies
description. Some practitioners became permanently handicapped and suffered
nervous breakdowns and memory loss from the brutal abuse, and some
practitioners' spouses left them under the crippling regime pressure. Liu met with karmic retribution. One day he lost control of his motorcycle on
a highway and hit the car in front of him. The impact killed him instantly. 4. Jiang Zhaobin, Jingjian Township Politics and Judiciary Committee
secretary in Bin County often attacked Falun Gong in public and coerced
practitioners to renounce their belief. Jiang traveled to Erlong Mountain on May
5, 2000 on his motorcycle. He hit a bridge in Binzhou on his way back and was
killed instantly. 5. Feng Weizhang, a member of Ningyuan Town Arms Bureau, has ransacked many
Falun Gong practitioners' homes as well as monitored and harassed them. Feng
developed cancer of the esophagus in the fall of 2002. Chemotherapy did not
improve his condition. He died in April 2003 from a lung hemorrhage. 6. Wang Zhishi, a member of the Bin County Education Bureau Party Committee,
often went to kindergartens and middle schools to coerce Falun Gong staff and
employees to renounce their belief. He also publicly attacked Falun Gong. He
died from an unknown illness in the summer of 2005. 7. Sun Jibiao, former head of the Bin County Police Department used to be the
Party Secretary in Shengli Town. He bore tremendous animosity toward Falun Gong
practitioners after believing the CCP's propaganda. He bribed officials and
bought the position of police chief with approximately 250,000 yuan [31,250 USD]
in 2002 and then cruelly persecuted Falun Gong. His goal was to earn promotions
through his persecution efforts. He led the police to arrest Falun Gong practitioners in April and May 2005.
They ransacked many practitioners' homes in Bin County and arrested
approximately 30 people. More than ten practitioners were sent to the Changlinzi
and Wanjia Forced Labor Camps. Some practitioners' family members fell ill and
even passed away from grief and devastation. The ransacking was a financial
drain for many families. Soon after his arrest, Sun quickly developed a strange
illness, and his condition worsened, even after going to top hospitals
throughout the country. After being in a coma for several months, he died on
August 9, 2003. 8. Several Police Department Domestic Security Division officials assisted
Jiang's gang to trample the law and persecute the innocent; the exception was
one official who asked to be assigned other work. They arrested and detained
Falun Gong practitioners and fabricated charges to send the practitioners to
labor camps. Some also extorted money from the practitioners and their families.
Among these officials, Zhao Yi died from an illness in September 2003, Zhao
Guomin was fired for embezzling money, and Yin Fengming developed a serious
ailment. 9. Yu Liya, the county No. 1 Detention Center head, instructed guards to
savagely force-feed Falun Gong practitioners and extort money from them. He died
during cancer surgery in September 2004. 10. Wang Jiuhui, former Wenhua Police Station head in Binzhou Town, Bin
County ruthlessly persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. He often instructed the
officers to harass the practitioners and tried to force several practitioners to
curse Falun Gong and its founder, threatening to send them to labor camps if
they did not comply. Many practitioners within the precinct were arrested, and
some were sent to labor camps. Wang Jiuhui was arrested in September 2007 for
taking bribes and mismanagement. 11. Li Zhongmin, former Bin County Jiaotong Police Station deputy head, beat
Falun Gong practitioners' family members. He died in a car accident in the
spring of 2004. 12. Wu Yuncheng, an officer from the Wenhua Police Station in Binzhou Town,
Bin County frequently threatened Falun Gong practitioners and was a front-runner
in arresting practitioners. He was arrested in September 2007 for failing to
carry out his job duties and remained in prison for several months. 13. Zheng Hongjun, an employee of Jingjian Crop Storage Station was deeply
deceived by government propaganda,. He tore up Falun Gong books and slandered
Falun Gong. He brutally beat practitioners' family members. Zheng died in
January 2002 from an aneurysm. 14. Song Yan, an employee of Bin County Chinese Medicine Hospital watched
colleagues who practiced Falun Gong and prevented them from having contact with
other practitioners. She died on the spot from a traffic accident in the winter
of 2004. 15. Man Yushan, a retired worker from Binzhou Town bore hatred toward Falun
Gong after being brainwashed with propaganda. He often tore down Falun Gong
posters and flyers from electricity poles. Falun Gong practitioners kindly
advised him to find out the facts independently and stop countering their
efforts to clarify the facts. He refused and used vicious and vulgar language to
attack Falun Gong's founder. Man Yushan slipped and fell in spring 2005. He
became bedridden and died soon afterwards. 16. Li Shuxin, the former head of Minan Village, Shengli Town, Bin County
reported a Falun Gong practitioner who was carrying some flyers in 2007. As a
result, the practitioner was arrested by local police and was extorted out of
5,000 yuan. Li Shuxin lost control of his motorcycle in June 2008 and hit a tree
by the side of the road. He was killed instantly . 17. Li Tang, the former Party Secretary of Shanhou Village, Shengli Town, Bin
County slandered Falun Gong and extorted money from local practitioners. In a
freak accident, he was thrown from his motorcycle in April 2008 and died on the
highway. 18. Zhao Fengshan, the former head of Caojiatun, Binzhou Town constantly
harassed Falun Gong practitioners along with the local police. He also posted
cartoons and slogans that twisted the facts and slandered Falun Gong right
before the 2003 Chinese New Year. He was diagnosed with terminal stage lung
cancer and died in April 2004. 19. Wang Donghe, Li Peishan and Liu Xiaozhou, three successive Party
Secretaries of Daxing Village, Changan Town, Bin County, publicly slandered
Falun Gong and persecuted the practitioners. They also destroyed Falun Gong
materials and banners. The practitioners explained the facts to them many times,
but they refused to listen. Wang Donghe suffered a cerebral hemorrhage right after the 2005 Chinese New
Year, which left him crippled. Li Peishan died in May 2005 from a stroke and
complications from diabetes while playing mahjong. Liu Xiaozhou was diagnosed
with liver cancer in October 2007. He was hospitalized in Beijing and died on
February 11, 2008. 20. Gao Bao, former security chief of Dongfang Village, Sanbao Township, Bin
County always took down Falun Gong banners and tore up countless flyers about
Falun Gong. He followed practitioner(s) who were going to the countryside to
distribute materials before the 2007 Chinese New Year. He developed cerebral
hemorrhage a little while afterwards. After undergoing open-skull surgery, the
wound did not heal, and he died in the winter of 2007. 21. Zhao Shuting, former security chief of Erdao Village, Jingjian Township,
Bin County destroyed Falun Gong materials wherever he saw them, and he reported
local practitioners to the authorities. He died from cancer in 2003. 22. Yu Junlin and his brother Yu Junshui were both residents of Daxing
Village; Changan Town. They repeatedly slandered Falun Gong and its founder.
They turned a deaf ear to practitioners who explained the facts to them. Yu
Junlin died from cerebral hemorrhage and Yu Junshui died from the same cause in
2007. 23. Liu Shuyuan, an unemployed person from Ningyuan Town, Bin County slowly
turned against Falun Gong after buying into vicious propaganda, which led him to
participate in the persecution. He suddenly fell ill in April 2008 and died on
the way to the hospital.
Sun announced at a People's Congress meeting that one would be rewarded with 500
yuan for reporting a Falun Gong practitioner to the authorities. He
shouted, "I do not believe in karma. If I really get punished, then I'll
believe [Falun Gong]." He was diagnosed with advanced bladder cancer soon
afterwards. Although he has been in and out of large hospitals for the past few
years, his condition continues to deteriorate. Recently he had his bladder
removed and has to use a tube for urination.
2. Liu Jianzhao worked for the county 610 Office and was responsible for writing
propaganda materials to demonize Falun Gong. His mind was poisoned by the Jiang
group's lies, and he followed their footsteps in the persecution.
3. Xu Zhongcai was the county Audit Bureau head. He slandered Falun Gong on many
occasions during his term in office and participated in the persecution. Halfway
