Practitioners Tortured by Police in Zhao County, Hebei Province
(Clearwisdom.net) From late June of this year until early August, Yao
Wei, the chief of Zhao County Police Department, and Gao Libo from the Domestic
Security Division, have been the masterminds behind the persecution of Falun
Dafa practitioners under the pretext of "guaranteeing a safe
Olympics." In attempts to arrest six practitioners, four were sent to a
forced labor camp while the other two escaped. The officials harassed the
practitioners' family members many times, and some practitioners were only
released after their family members were fined. On June 23, under the orders of the head of Nanbaishe Police Station, He
Junwei and instructor Wang Caifeng forced their way into practitioner Ms. Xie
Cuixia's home in the neighborhood of North Xiejia, arresting her and a neighbor
who was visiting. The next day, while there was nobody present, the police
climbed over the railing into Ms. Xie's home and ransacked her place. The
officers tried to extort money from her family by indicating that she would be
released for one thousand yuan; however her family was too poor to
pay the amount. She was then sentenced on July 1 to a forced labor camp for
one-and-a-half years without any legal procedures being followed. Ms. Xie has
been known for treating people with kindness since she began practicing Falun
Dafa, and people have thought highly of the practice as a result. However, the
Chinese Communist Party has still persecuted her, even overlooking her
responsibility for taking care of her 85-year-old father-in-law and pregnant
daughter-in-law. On June 24, the same group of police officers sneaked into Yujiagang Village
and arrested practitioner Ms. Xue Luanzhen. They released her after extorting
500 yuan from her family. Ms. Xue Luanzhen's body was very weak before she
started cultivation; she took a lot of medicine and had had an extensive
operation. After practicing Falun Dafa, she regained her health. Everyone in the
village knows that Dafa saved her life. Before the wheat harvest season, practitioner Ms. Qiu Jinping from Shuangmiao
Village, Dazhang Township was arrested by officers from Qiandazhang Police
Station after someone filed a report against her. She was released when the
wheat harvest season arrived. After one month, at 5 p.m. on June 26, a spy from
the Domestic Security Division went to Ms. Qiu's home, claiming to be a homeless
practitioner, and begged Ms. Qiu to give him two Dafa books. Right after Ms. Qiu
handed him the books, he took out his cell phone and called for police from the
Zhao County Domestic Security Division and Qiandazhang Police Station. They
arrested Ms. Qiu and ransacked her home without showing any ID, and they misled
Ms. Qiu Jinping's family by claiming that they would release her after
questioning. But three days later, when her family went to the police station to
ask for her release, they were told that she had been sentenced to one year of
forced labor. Her husband went home to face raising the three children alone,
feeling desperate and powerless. The youngest one is only five years old and is
crying for mom every day. At the end of July, officers from Qiandazhang Police Station arrested
practitioner Ms. Lu Shu'e from Lujiazhuang Village. She was arrested once
before. On July 12, with cooperation from Xiezhuang Police Station's chief Zhang
Jinying and deputy chief Dong Li, officers of the Zhao County Police Department
went to arrest practitioner Ms. Yue Ping at her home in Dongzhuang Village. Her
family argued with the police and the attempted arrest failed. On the same day,
they arrested practitioner Ms. Jin Ping while she was visiting Ms. Yue. They
ransacked Ms. Jin's home and took away her Dafa books and satellite receiver. On
July 13, the same group of police went to Dongzhuang Village again and forced
their way into practitioner Ms. Chunsu's home, ransacking her home and arresting
her. Three days later, they informed her family that both Ms. Jin Ping and Ms.
Chunsu had been sentenced to one year at a forced labor camp. In mid-July, police from Fanzhuang Police Station forced their way into
practitioner Mr. Xie Suoshan's home in Xiejiazhai Village of Fanzhuang Township.
They attempted to arrest him, but he was able to escape. The same officers also
went to several practitioners' homes in Xianmenlou Village, Fanzhuang Township
to harass and threaten them, saying "The Olympics are coming, do not go to
Beijing, and do not try to go outside." The head of Fanzhuang Police
Station, Wang Weiyong, is responsible for the persecution of these
practitioners. On July 20, Zhao County Police Department and its subordinate police
stations, especially the notorious Zhaozhou Town Police Station, started a
comprehensive persecution and harassment campaign against practitioners in Zhao
County. They used the Olympic torch relay through Shijianzhuang as the excuse
for persecution. The police kept surveillance of neighborhoods and the outside
of practitioners' homes, and harassed practitioners in person and over the
phone. Zhao County Police Department issued an order that every practitioner
needed to be under control and to arrest those that the police didn't have
confidence of keeping under control. Head of Zhao County Police Department, Yao Wei (male): 86-15903115678 (Cell),
