Mr. Liu Yongjin Secretly Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison in Linyi City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) At the end of July 2008, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Yongjin's family received a letter notifying them that Mr. Liu had been taken to Ward 5 at the Tai'an Prison by agents from the Lanshan District 610 Office. He was sentenced to seven years in prison. Reportedly, Mr. Liu is in critical condition and was rejected twice for health reasons by authorities in other prisons.

Initially, Mr. Liu Yongjin was secretly sentenced at the Lanshan District Court without his family's knowledge. They searched for him far and wide but could not get any information about his whereabouts. It has been reported that Mr. Liu underwent a physical at Jinan City Prison, and was diagnosed with hepatitis B, tuberculosis and other diseases, whereupon the prison rejected him. He was also rejected from admission to the Linyi City Prison. Eventually, Mr. Liu was secretly taken to Ward 5 at the Tai'an Prison.

Mr. Liu's family was not allowed to send him appropriate clothing, although he wore his winter clothes at the time of his arrest and presumably received no others. The family is very worried about his health.
