(Clearwisdom.net) At midnight on July 11, 2008, Li Yan, Li Guiyi and twenty other police officers from Wolitun Public Security Sub-bureau in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, arrested 70-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Cui Hongyi, who was sleeping at home. They also confiscated one Dafa book and five video tapes. Cui Hongyi was detained until 4:00 a.m. The reason they arrested Cui Hongyi was that the Olympic torch was to arrive in Daqing City on July 12.
On July 10, police officer Li Yan went to Cui Hongyi's son 's workshop, and forced him to write a guarantee statement, and to monitor his father and keep him at home. But Cui's son rejected this with stern words. Li Yan then visited Cui son's boss and asked to take Cui's son home to monitor Mr. Cui.
Daqing city police officers continued harassing and persecuting Mr. Cui and his family for several years. On October, 2007, Cui Hongyi planned to visit his daughter, who was illegally detained in Harbin, but Mr. Cui was arrested at the Wolitun train station in Daqing City and sent to the local police station. The officers took his house key and searched his home. As a result, twenty Dafa books, five video tapes, one e-book and a cell phone were confiscated. Mr. Cui was illegally detained for one day because the 17th Party Congress was in progress.
In March 2008, Mr. Cui went to Harbin to visit his daughter. However, as he arrived he was arrested by Zhang Baotai from Wolitun Public Security Sub-bureau in Daqing City. Mr. Cui was sent to the Railway Public Security Office and released that evening. Again, Mr. Cui was arrested due to another CCP congress.
Because he refuses to give up his belief in the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," this 70-year-old senior citizen has been forced to suffer repeated harassment and persecution.
