In a Few Words: Our Hearts Should Remain Unmoved

(Clearwisdom.net) Many things have happened recently, and it is easy for our hearts to be stirred. My fellow practitioners, what I want to tell everyone is that our hearts should remain unmoved under all circumstances. Once our hearts are stirred, we will drop to the same level as everyday people.

To me, everything in everyday society is similar to the passage in Zhuan Falun that tells about a cultivator meditating:

"demons then come along to scare him, or they'll change into beautiful women to seduce him. All kinds of things can happen. Once they take a look, they'll know he's really not affected. That's because it's a bit easier for the subordinate soul to cultivate since it can know the truth of things." (The Eighth Talk in Zhuan Falun, 2003 translation version)

Furthermore, we as practitioners know that Fa-rectification is bound to be successful! Regardless of whether the situation in society becomes better or worse, we should not be overjoyed or worried.

To sum it up in one sentence: Our hearts should remain unmoved.

We should view these happenings as merely transient things or tribulations. We should do the three things that Master requires of us as usual. While offering salvation to sentient beings, we will temper ourselves in the cultivation environment in this society and improve our xinxing, thereby fulfilling our pre-historic vows to assist Master in Fa-rectification.
