Falun Gong Practitioners Monitored and Arrested in Chicheng County, Hebei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials from Chicheng County, Hebei Province took several Falun Gong practitioners to "reform" sessions under the pretext of "protecting the Olympics."

On July 12, the Chicheng County Council and the Political and Legal Committee in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province held a meeting to discuss secret plans to escalate the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The officials have arrested and harassed Falun Gong practitioners and taken away their ID cards by force and through deception. People were assigned to monitor the practitioners. To prevent practitioners from going to Beijing to appeal, check points were increased on eleven exit roads throughout the entire county. No one is allowed to get out of the county without their ID card. Recently, CCP officials from Chicheng County began requiring all townships and work units in the county to hold "reform" sessions for Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners will have limited physical freedoms during the Olympic Games. Those who are monitoring practitioners will eat and live with the practitioners until October 1. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Chicheng County is still a constant occurrence.

On July 13, officials from the Zhenningbao Township took ten female Falun Gong practitioners by force to a conference room in the township hall. Nine people were assigned to watch the practitioners around the clock. There were no beds or blankets. Each practitioner had one long wooden chair, where they sat during the day and slept at night. The township deputy head Zhang Shengping, Deputy Party Secretary Ji Zhongfeng, and Political Instructor Li, from the local police station, handcuffed Ms. Wu Shulan, put her in a car and took her away. They also broke into Ms. Li Jinfeng's home and took her away in front of her 70-year-old father.

On July 14, officials from the Yunzhou Township government and the local police station took eleven practitioners, including Mr. Zhao Tianjin, Mr. Yao Zhiming, Mr. Lao Guanghe and Mr. Yan Jincai, to "reform" sessions at the township hall. Officials from Tianjiayao Town assigned people to monitor two female practitioners from Erdaowa Village during the day. The practitioners were forced to sleep in the village council at night.

On July 16, the county mobile phone company and Zhangjiakou City mobile phone company took practitioner Mr. Dong Wendong to the Zhangjiakou City brainwashing center.

Around July 16, Mr. Wang Fangliang, Ms. Wu Guihua and Ms. Zhai Guihua from Dongmao Town were arrested by the town hall officials.

The Tobacco Bureau rented an apartment in the subdivision where Ms. Liang Ying lives. Three or four people were assigned to monitor Ms. Liang around the clock and to follow her whenever she left home.
