Taiwan: Practitioners Hold a Parade Publicizing the "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) To inform citizens in Jhonghe City, Taipei County about the "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition to be held in Jhonghe City Hall, Falun Gong practitioners held a parade near the city hall at noon on August 2, 2008. The Divine Land Marching Band performed "Falun Dafa Is Good," and the performance drew attention from pedestrians who stopped to watch.

Ms. Fan, a grocer ,saw the parade procession pass by her store and said excitedly, "I've traveled to Australia, Italy, Vienna, Rome and Hungary, and I have seen Falun Gong in all those places. It seems that Falun Gong is in all parts of the world."

"People in over 80 countries and regions practice Falun Gong. In Taiwan, there are more than 500,000 practitioners, and only in Mainland China are people persecuted for practicing," a Falun Gong practitioner told Ms. Fan. Ms. Fan asked, "What is Falun Gong? How does one practice it?" The practitioner told her that Falun Gong is a cultivation practice of both body and mind. The five sets of exercises are easy to learn and practice, and its effect on healing illnesses and keeping fit is extraordinary. The practitioner mentioned her parents, who are in their sixties, as an example. After practicing Falun Gong, they have become very healthy. They have not had to use their health care cards since they started the practice. After her mother began practicing Falun Gong, other people often commented that her mother and she look like sisters. Ms. Fan's eyes widened, and immediately said, "Then I want to take a look at the practice site at Banqiao Stadium near where I live. Please give this flyer to others, I have learned about it, please do not waste it. You are really working hard in such a hot weather and you have to print the flyers at your own expense."

Mr. Mo carefully read the flyer introducing the "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition at the roadside. When asked if he knows about Falun Gong, he said that one of his colleagues living in Neihu is a practitioner, and his impression of his colleague is that he has a good temper and is a kind person who does not strive for personal gain. The reporter asked if he will go to see the art exhibition, Mr. Mo said he would if he was not busy.

A Falun Gong practitioner told Mr. Mo about the wonderfulness of practicing Falun Gong and the Chinese Communist regime's crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and then cremating the murdered bodies to destroy the evidence. The practitioners listed the CCP's monstrous inhumane crimes which are unprecedented on the earth. Mr. Mo listened to the practitioner quietly and nodded. He said, "Just like the Nazis, unprecedented on this planet." The practitioner continued telling him why Falun Gong practitioners take to the street. They want to tell the public about the brutal persecution taking place in China, and to awaken people's righteousness and conscience, so that we can work together to end the persecution soon. Mr. Mo then asked if there is petition to sign during the art exhibition to call for an end to the persecution. He said he would go to see the art exhibition the next day and sign the petition to support Falun Gong.

It was very hot at noon. Several practitioners entered a grocery to buy beverages. Saleswoman Ms. Lim said, "You are really devoted. It is so hot at noon, both the old and the young (are participating in the parade). I admire you." When asked if she knows about Falun Gong, she said she did and said, "An elderly lady in her sixties in my neighborhood used to dance together with us, and later took up Falun Gong. The older lady said the practice made her healthy." Ms. Lim asked the practitioners who bought beverages if they all practice Falun Gong. The practitioners answered, "Yes, we do. It benefits us both physically and mentally. Our families are happy and in harmony." The practitioners also told her that practitioners range from a two-year-old child to a 96-year-old, and are from all walks of life. Ms. Lim said, "I just now saw young mothers pushing baby strollers and very little child in the parade."

When the practitioners recommended that she go to see the "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" International Art Exhibition, Ms. Lim saw the young girl in the painting on the flyer and exclaimed, "Is this really a painting? It looks so real! Particularly her eyes and drops of rain, I thought it was a photograph."

The practitioners told her the meaning of the painting: Falun Gong practitioners held anti-torture exhibits, distributed flyers and held display boards in Manhattan to raise awareness of the persecution. The young girl in the rain in the painting sends out her pure appeal, hoping more people will learn about the facts, and therefore awaken people's conscience and help stop the persecution soon.
