Persecution of Ms. Yin Guizhi in Shandong Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Note: The following is a shortened version of
a longer and more detailed article that appeared on the Minghui.org website
(Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net). Ms. Yin Guizhi, from Shengli Oilfield in Dongying City, Shandong Province,
began practicing Falun Gong in 1997, and was subsequently cured of numerous
illnesses. Seeing these amazing changes, Yin's husband and parents also started
to practice. After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, Yin Guizhi's husband
gave up the practice due to overwhelming pressure. Yin Guizhi had gone to
Beijing to appeal in October 1999, where she was arrested and returned to
Dongying, then held there for 15 days. She was subjected to brainwashing and was
extorted of 1,500 yuan. Her husband also lost his job, and his
salary and bonus were slashed. The police arrested Ms. Yin again in the spring of 2001, and detained her for
more than a month at a brainwashing center. After her release, eight officers
ransacked her home on the evening of February 27, 2002, and took her to a prison
located inside the Gudong Oil Extraction Factory, where she was subjected to two
weeks of brainwashing, and extorted of more than 6,000 yuan. They subsequently
sent her to the Shandong Province Legal Education Center, a major brainwashing
base, to be held for more than a month, followed by one year in a forced labor
camp. Her father, devastated by repeated persecution, developed cerebral
paralysis and died in 2006. The government had withheld Yin Guizhi's husband's salary and bonus since
March 2002. His father was ill but Yin Guizhi couldn't afford medical treatment
for him, and had no choice but to take her husband's parents back to their
hometown. Their son, who was in the eleventh grade, left home and roamed the
streets to avoid the constant harassment from officials. Ms. Yin Guizhi's term expired in March 2003, but the authorities refused to
release her and extended her sentence by two weeks. Posting date: 9/16/2008 |
