Weifang Residents Ms. Shang Meiyuan and Mr. Yang Bingju Still Imprisoned

Mr. Yang Bingju and his wife, Ms. Shang Meiyuan, are residents of Xianghezi Village, Fangzi District, Weifang City, Shandong Province. They have been arrested and imprisoned many times for their belief of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. They fled their home six years ago to escape the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. In the spring of 2006, they were arrested and imprisoned at the Wangchun Forced Labor Camp for one and a half years. Upon their release in March of 2008, Xianghezi Village CCP secretary Yang Yanping ordered the village military company commander, Yang Wei, to arrest Ms. Shang and Mr. Yang and take them to the Weifang brainwashing camp. Ms. Shang and Mr. Yang have never been released.

Mr. Yang's father is in his eighties. For quite some time he has been bedridden longing for his missing son. In early May of 2008, Mr. Yang's mother, also in her eighties, went to the brainwashing camp to demand her son's release, but was refused.
